"North Carolina Blueberries" Gus announced.
The man looked up surprised, "how did you k-" Then is eyes widened, " Ohh my god "
Shawn grimaced, "don't worry, I-"
"it's not like I'm not greatful" the man babbled, "I am, it's just…-"
"Please don't worry. I'm not here to disrupt anything; this isn't going to be a repeat of San Antonio"
The man visibly sighed in relied and Gus stared wondering what had happened in San Antonio that made the security guard visibly stress. He should have been relieved, especially as they had just solved his blueberry crisis.
"In that case, please" the man said gesturing forward for them to enter. Gus handed him the blueberries on the way past and they both missed the look of worry of the man's face. The blueberries were a great help, but a psychic at the convention created a serious threat. And they really couldn't risk alienating the Star Trek fans.
Shawn clutched his pineapple as he maneuvered his way around the convention. He smiled at the way Gus actually seemed to be at home here as he was greeted by several of his friends.
"I can't believe we're actually here" Gus blurted to him. Shawn smiled and simply pointed through the crowd to one of the stands.
"Look who it is buddy"
Gus followed Shawn's finger and gasped when he saw one of his childhood hero's. It was the author of the Green Spirit comics. As Gus made his way to the table, a pretty young woman caught Shawn's attention. She was professional a dress and was holding a clipboard.
" Hi I'm Talia. I'm from Parastone Pictures and just wanted to remind you to see the world premiere of the Red Phantom trailer tomorrow night" She handed him one of the flyers with a smile.
"It will be the biggest movie of the summer" she predicts.
"Oh, will it?" Shawn asks amused.
The woman just smiled, "Don't miss out. "
Shawn then made his way over to where Gus was standing. He was talking to Hiltz Kooler. Gus was holding his comic to his heart after his hero had just signed it.
" I couldn't believe I found a guy selling one. I love how this story reinvented the character for today" Gus blurted, the excitement still showing in his eyes which Shawn could tell Mr Kooler was not very enthusiastic about. In fact he seemed utterly bored.
Mr Kooler shrugged, "Enjoy"
Shawn tugged Gus away subtly leaving Mr Kooler to continue staring blankly at his comics.
"The Green Spirit?" Shawn asked rhetorically, before it suddenly clicked. "Was that that movie you dragged me to where the hero had big nipples on the outside of his costume?"
Gus shrugged sheepishly before frowning. "That movie nearly killed the characters".
Shawn could remember how excited Gus had been for that movie and his disappointment when it finished. That weekend Shawn tried everything to make him feel better, he bought him ice cream and spoke for hours about other disappointments in the past and he reassured Gus that things will get better in the future.
An officer suddenly rushed past them. Shawn gave Gus a look that clearly said, 'let's follow'. Gus simply shrugged and they both followed the officer through the crowd until they came back to the entrance doors where two young detectives that they both knew were standing there issuing instructions. It wasn't until she had finished using the instructions that she was nudged and saw them both standing there.
"Shawn, Gus" she exclaimed with a smile walking closer towards them.
"Hey guys" Shawn greeted and Gus raised his hand as a hello gesture.
"You know you could have just said' Juliet murmured quietly, Shawn just chuckled causing Buzz smile and share a look with Gus.
" You guys enjoying the con? " Buzz asked. Gus raised his eyebrows and withdrew the comic from the plastic bag he was holding and showing them both the cover.
"We just met Hiltz Kooler" Gus boasted.
Juliet's face lit up, "No way "
Buzz suddenly cleared his throat loudly, "Guys, missing kids here"
Juliet suddenly sobered. "Yes. Big place, I have officers stationed at every entrance and exit and a few patrolling, if Malcolm and his friends are here, we will find them."
"Sounds like you got this covered" Gus notices.
Juliet smiles and nods, "Enjoy the convention guys. You know I hear there will be fireworks too to celebrate the release of the Red Phantom."
Shawn nodded knowingly and Gus snorted as they waved goodbye to Juliet and Buzz.
"No amount of fireworks will make that movie any better"
"How would you know? You haven't even seen it yet!" Shawn exclaimed.
Gus just waved a hand. "The Malcontent has given it really bad reviews and every one follows his blog, this movie is gonna suck".
Shawn just shrugged in reply and increased his walking speed to catch up with Gus who had sped up after seeing someone he knew.

Juliet and Buzz began searching around the con together after they left Shawn and Gus. There were so many stalls and giant figurines that Juliet was beginning to think that they would never find these boys. Buzz then spotted a man with a microphone welcoming everyone to the convention and he nudged Juliet so her attention was directed at the man with the microphone, seconds before his voice boomed through the speakers. Juliet pondered the thought. If she went up on the stage and announced her presence the boys might try to run, they did have all exits covered but she would prefer that they regained the element of surprise. It then occurred to her that someone else could do that got her. She quickly strolled over to the announcer who had momentarily stepped down from the stage and was mingling with other members meets of the public.
"Excuse me, we're looking for three boys by these names" she said while handing them a slip of paper with the boys names as well as their pictures.
"Could you please announce these boys as the winner of a competition and ask them to come up on stage?" Juliet asked with authority, clearly showing her police badge attached to her hip.
The man looked a little puzzled but nodded holding the paper anyway. "Sure" he replied.
The man then got back up on to the stage and slipped in the boys papers with the rest of his prompt cards. Buzz watched his newly appointed partner with admiration. It was a clever plan and he hoped it would work.
Juliet watched with fake confidence and tried to make herself blend in to the crowd so the boys wouldn't run. When the boys names were announced there was a cheer from by one of the stands. Juliet furrowed her brow when she realised there was only a group on two boys meaning one of the boys had wondered off somewhere. As the boys made their way to the stage Juliet and Buzz intercepted, both detectives shoving their badges in the boys face.
