So, first off I want to say, this isn't an update; merely me trying to consolidate notes. This story is complete and is planning to stay as it is. I may revisit this universe at a later date to do some outtakes or supplemental drabbles if and when the inspiration hits, but they will be placed in a separate story if that happens. And it might be a while as this story really took a lot out of me. I poured a lot of my heart and soul into the writing of it, shedding probably just as many tears, if not more, as the readers who have commented, so it might be a while before I can revisit this particular Harry and Draco. It broke my heart to kill them off, but I wanted to remain as true to the video that inspired the story as possible.
Second, I wanted to thank everyone for their wonderful comments. I tried to respond to every review at first, but then I caught a nasty bout of the flu and unfotunately I fell way behind. So, let me take this time to thank everyone for reading - those who reviewed and favorited it, as well as those who did not. The response to this story has been amazing and every time I find an e-mail with a new review or someone adding the story to their favorites list, it has truly made my day. Thank you from the bottom of my heart as I was hesitant about writing this story when I started it, and it thrills me that so many have taken the time to read and respond to They That Love Beyond the World.
Lastly, and the real reason I'm adding this, my beta finally convinced me that it would be a good idea to post what I consider to be the soundtrack to They That Love Beyond the World. While it is based on the song Vincent by Don McLean, there were several other songs that went into the writing of this story. I always write listening to music as I feel that it often sets the mood for me and helps me sink into whatever universe I'm creating; and this is the soundtrack with a brief explanation of how it helped build the story. My beta says she loves knowing the music that inspires the story, and hopefully there are others that feel the same. EDIT: I've added one song and deleted another that actually never came to play in the story as I intended. Also, a reader has since made some art for the story. The link is listed after the soundtrack.

They That Love... Soundtrack
1. Undisclosed Desires, The Muse - I call this one the Harry Stalks Draco song. If you've heard the music, you'd understand what I mean as the beat instantly makes me think of Harry tiptoeing through the castle and peaking around corners as he tracks Draco in the beginning scenes of the story. Plus, the lyrics are a definite foreshadowing.
2. Pieces, Red - Scene specific - Letter from Home. I was listening to it while I was plotting the letter from Lucius scene and I immediately envisioned the owl swooping into the Great Hall to the swell of the strings in the long opening instrumental in this song. Not to mention that the music has this somber, almost waiting for something to happen feel with the piano mimicking the striking of a clock in the background. And then the lyrics, so very fitting for the scene.
3. My Confession, Josh Groban - In my mind, this is the Draco companion POV for when Harry is pretending to be asleep, but is really watching him sketch. The lyrics just strike me as what was going through Draco's mind as his feelings changed for Harry. "I have been wrong about you; thought I was strong without you. For so long, nothing could move me. For so long, nothing could change me. Now I feel myself surrender, each time I see your face. I am captured by your beauty, your unassuming grace. And I feel my heart is turning, and falling into place. I can't hide, now hear my confession."
4. Hungry Eyes, Eric Carmen - Scene Specific - Draco and Harry's First Kiss. Yeah, I know, the song's kind of cheesy, but what I like about it, is if you strip away the layers of music, at the very heart of it, the beat sounds like an erratic heartbeat; one that picks up in tempo as the song progresses and even seems to skip a beat as a normal heart would when faced with your crush. I thought it suitable for a first kiss scene. Not to mention that the lyrics really do reflect Harry's thoughts.
5. Everything, Lifehouse - While I did listen to this as I was plotting out the body painting scene, I wouldn't say it was specific to just this scene, as it can really fit the entire evolution of Harry and Draco's relationship. "You are the strength, that keeps me walking. You are the hope, that keeps me trusting. You are the light, to my soul. You are my purpose; you're everything. And how can I, stand here with you, and not be moved by you? Would you tell me, how could it be, any better than this?"
6. To Make You Feel My Love, Garth Brooks - Scene specific - the Night Before They Leave. In my mind, this is a Harry POV song and really the lyrics speak for themselves. "When the wind is blowing in your face, and the whole world is on your case, I would offer you a warm embrace, to make you feel my love. When the evening shadows and the stars appear, and there is no one to dry your tears, I could hold you for a million years, to make you feel my love."
7. Not Alone, RED - This song, while not really scene specific really is an expression of what Harry has tried to tell Draco all along. "Your heart is full of broken dreams. Just a fading memory. And everything's gone but the pain carries on. Lost in the rain again. When will it ever end? The arms of relief seem so out of reach. But I, I am here. I am with you. I will carry you through it all. I won't leave you, I will catch you feel like letting go. 'Cause you're not, you're not alone.
8. Permanent, David Cook - Scene Specific - Saying Goodbye on the Train. Again, for this one, it was mostly about the music, highlighting the change in the direction of the story. But it also is about the lyrics and I see the first stanza and chorus as being Draco's POV and the second stanza and chorus as being Harry's POV.
9. A Beautiful Lie, 30 Seconds to Mars - Scene Specific - Draco's Marking. I have long thought of this as Draco's song, even before writing this story. To me it fits Draco's life and mindset from about HPB on in the canon series and definitely fits the desperation that Draco is feeling as he is being marked in They That Love - "Everyone is looking at me; I running 'round in circles, baby; a quiet desperation's building higher..."; not to mention the horror and desperation on Harry's side watching as Draco is forced into taking the mark.
10. Hopeless, Breaking Benjamin - Scene Specific - Draco's Death. I honestly don't think I have the words to say why this fits the scene - if you've heard it, you would instantly understand. "Safe to say it's over. Sink into the grave. There is nothing left inside, but I am wide awake. I can hear the devil call my name. HOPELESS. I'm falling down. FILTHY. I can't wake up. I can not hold on. I will not let go. WORTHLESS. It's over now. GUILTY. There's no way out. I can not hold on. I will not let go."
11. Shattered, Trading Yesterday - Scene Specific - Harry Finds Out About Draco's Death. I had originally planned on writing a different scene to this song, but for some reason, once it started playing, the scene that came out of my fingertips was the one where Harry found about Draco's death. And I have to admit, it is a much better fit for the emotions of that particular scene, not to mention the lyrics just kill me.
12. The Memory, Mayday Parade - Really the lyrics say everything. "Now spring has brought the rain, but I still see your face, and I cannot escape the past. Creeping up inside, reminding me that I, can never bring you back. This is the memory. This is the curse of having, too much time to think about it. It's killing me, this is the last time, this is my forgiveness, this is endless. Someone help me, 'cause the memory, convinced itself to tear me apart and it's gonna succeed before long..."
13. Forgiven, Within Temptation - Scene Specific - Harry Visits Draco's Grave. Honestly, I don't even have the words to express how much this song and scene breaks my heart. This was definitely the hardest scene for me to write in the end and the haunting melody, ethereal vocals and heartbreaking lyrics just fit the whole mood of it and left me in tears when combined with Harry's words.
14. The Dance, Garth Brooks - Scene Specific- Harry's Vigil. This scene wasn't originally in the finished version of the story when I sent it to the creator of the video. I had written it and then took it out because I was concerned with how long the story was getting. But I adored this scene as did Wendy and I ended up putting it back in when she asked if there was anyway she could change my mind on including it. By that time, I had already rethought leaving it out.
15. Savior, 30 Seconds to Mars - Now like A Beautiful Lie reminds me of Draco, this one just screams Harry to me. I listened it to it when writing the scene with Voldemort, but really it fits Harry's view when faced with a world without Draco. "Don't save me, don't save me, 'cuz I don't care. Don't save me, don't save me, 'cuz I don't care. Until the truth becomes a lie. Until you change, until you deny. Until you believe. This is my chance, this is my chance. I'll take it now because I can. This is my chance, I want it now."
16. Burn, The Cure - I conceptualized the scene with Lucius to this song, but really this is more of a general song that fits Harry's mentality after Draco's death. Especially when he was sucked into dreams of Draco. "Still every night I burn, every night I scream your name. Every night I burn, every night the dream's the same. Every night I burn, waiting for my only friend. Every night I burn, waiting for the world to end."
17. (Everything I Do) I Do It For You, Bryan Adams - Scene Specific - Harry's Death. Although this song could definitely be seen as a Harry POV for the entire piece, I listened to this one several times as I was writing this scene. The lyrics and music just seemed to fit the mentality I wanted to achieve with Harry, who saw this entire thing worth it in the end because he was able to avenge his Vincent. Not to mention that his suicide didn't have the same hopeless undertones as Draco's, as Harry was certain that he would find Draco again.
18. There You'll Be, Faith Hill - Scene Specific - Harry's Memorial. This scene was the only one that I wasn't certain about when I was writing it. I went back and forth on whether to include Harry coming to Ron, Hermione, George, Blaise and Pansy at the end, as I knew that some would be uncomfortable and might think it overdone. But in the end I went for it because both betas loved it. The song is a multi-POV, reflecting Ron's view of Harry, but also that of Harry's for Draco as he reveals in his letter.
19. When You Say You Love Me, Josh Groban - I listened to this song while coming up with their bittersweet ending. I really wanted to give them a happy ending, but the video only gave me so much leeway and, well, Harry was being unbelievably angsty. I never intended him to wake up alone and then take so long to find Draco, and then have that moment of doubt, but he wouldn't let me write it any other way. Sometimes, as a writer, you have no choice but to go the direction the characters take you, and Harry was staying true to character and being unbelievably obstinate. He wouldn't budge on this ending.
20. Vincent, Don McLean - The song and video that inspired it all. I debated for a long time on whether to include the lyrics as breaks in this fic, but I went with them because, if you hadn't figured it out yet, each of the lyrics are reflected in the story in some way, usually within the section they head. For example - With the lyrics "A silver thorn, a bloody rose, lie crushed and broken on the virgin snow" is a reference to Lucius who was a thorn in both of Harry's and Draco's sides. Or with the lyrics "Weathered faces, lined in pain, are soothed beneath artist's loving hands," Draco tries to soothe Harry's fears in this section and there is even a point where he smooths the lines from Harry's face with his hands.
ART
So, I'm excited to say, that TARDISbluu, one of my reviewers, made some art for this story. I'm rather stoked by this as it is the first time that someone has said that one of my stories has inspired them to do any form of art, outside my beta who has done most of my title art.
And I thought I'd share it with everyone! :)
Thanks again, TARDISbluu!
Art is listed below; just take out all of the spaces, and add the slashes back where indicated:

And another piece of art from Daughter of Poseidon Kaye, this one that shows Harry's pain as he visits Draco's grave for the first time. That scene was definitely one of the hardest for me to write and I love that it inspired another to create their own art. Thank you Kaye!
Same treatment as above:

Here is a piece of art from Inzepoket; this one shows Draco is in the bathroom, drinking the poison. That scene was difficult in that Draco goes to a very dark place and God, killing off Draco nearly destroyed me. Really, I didn't want to kill either of them off as I just love this Harry and Draco to pieces. Thanks so much Inezpocket! You truly made my day and I'm always thrilled when my work inspires another to create.
