For the Harry Potter Femmeslash Project. I used the themes of angst and freeverse.
I'm blaming this on Laura. She's made me ship these two. So it's all her fault.
.
She's your beacon, your lighthouse light
that shines so brightly in the middle of the
vast, unyielding sea that you're lost in.
She's the only light at the end of the dark and never-ending tunnel.
But try as she might, she isn't bright enough
to overshadow the darkness,
the pain, and the misery.
Because it's overwhelming, it's constant,
it's always there.
And her whispered words in the dead of night
- you matter; you're beautiful; you're perfect -
don't change that, could never change that.
They aren't enough to patch up the damage,
make you forget about the taunts of others.
Words destroydisruptdismatle lives
(mostly yours)
in the end.
She tries to show you the way.
She tries to help you, to love you, to fixyou,
but she can't.
Because no matter how quickly she patches you up,
their words stabcutslice you so deep
that you're too far gone, too far damaged
for her words to protect you,
to heal you.
(But you wishhopewant for her to
because you love her with all of your broken heart
and you can't stop)
A/n – so many thanks to Allie for beta-ing this for me.
