Cid stormed through the ship, muttering angrily and fumbling with his pocket for a cigarette but the gods-be-damned thing wouldn't open! He was going to murder that damned vampire! First, he doesn't show for three of the meetings he was supposed to be at! Then, he completely blows them off when they asked him about it!
"Was away my ass!" Cid grumbled. "Fuck!" He stopped walking and focused his attention on getting the unwilling cigarette out of his pocket. Finally, he wrestled it out and planted it firmly between his teeth, pulling his lighter out. He was inches from lighting it when he stopped, his eyes bugging out and the cigarette dropped to the floor.
"What the hell?" He breathed, inching slowly forward.
He peeked around the corner to the balcony, curious even though he wasn't one to pry. He almost wished he hadn't, though his heart warmed at the sight.
Vincent stood on the balcony, both hands cupping Aerith's face lightly as he leaned down, kissing her gently. Cid knew he was intruding, but couldn't find himself to walk away. He wasn't expecting this, but he was glad the reclusive man was finally opening up. Even if only to the young flower girl. He almost gave an 'awww' when Aerith stood on tip-toe to try and deepen their kiss, her hands gently pulling Vincent's head down. Vincent complied, albeit hesitantly.
The setting sun's orange and red rays washed over them, bathing them in a surreal light that somehow seemed to fit the mood. Not typically one for romance, Cid had to admit that this was pretty romantic and he wondered just who decided on the balcony. He'd place his money on Aerith. She definitely seemed the romantic type. Smiling to himself, he quietly closed the balcony doors and wandered back to the meeting room. Everyone looked up as he entered.
"Well?" Barret asked from his chair. "What'd he say?"
"Huh?" Cid asked, confused.
"Vincent." Tifa clarified. "You went to find him. Did you manage to?"
"Oh. Uhh-No." Cid lied, the scene on the balcony still playing in his mind.
"But that don't matter." He said with a dismissive wave of his hand. "We'll jus' tell 'im when we see 'im, an' maybe one day he'll actually show up fer these so-called meetin's. Now!" He pounded the table. "Back tah business."
