"I know your pain, and I want you to know that the animals forgive you."

DJ turned to the owner of the voice, the one who had lay a comforting hand on his shoulder. "They do?" His eyes were welling up with emotional tears of near joy.

"They know you didn't mean it. They could feel how sorry you were."

"I was sorry!" He claimed, tears streaming now as he embraced her and sobbed.

Dawn gave an awkward little smile as the huge, gentle teen hugged her close. She didn't normally care much for humans, not as much as her little animal friends but DJ had this innocence about him. She was glad to have been able to do something for him.

"My momma is going to be so happy!" He had literally been moping for the last year about it and his momma was getting sick of hearing about it.

"You have such a gentle soul. I'm sure your mother must be very proud of you."

There was another short bout of water works. "She says she is." He released her and nodded, wiping away a tear. "You should meet her."

Dawn smiled a little wider, she had just gotten a little glimpse into the future by the shade his aura turned. "Oh, I know I will. Probably by the end of next month actually."

Anyone else probably would have found what she'd just said to be creepy, but DJ didn't. "Really? I've never brought a girl to meet my momma before. She's going to be so excited."

"I will be too." When the time came, but she would wait for it to happen. If DJ knew all the details it would probably confuse him. But Dawn was rather happy about it. She'd never been searching for a boyfriend but she'd never came across anyone with the same respect for nature as she had before. DJ was probably the sweetest person she'd ever met (on a scale of one to Scott) and she looked forward to getting to know him better... which she knew now she would.
