The Light at the End
I don't own bakugan. That's all I have to say.
Bold is thoughts
Italics is flashbacks
After the battle with Mag-Mel was over, everyone was celebrating. Well, but Shun. The graceful brawler didn't seem to enjoy such grandeur and attention.
Us, however, were simply mesmerized by his genuine finesse over brawling. Chris and I could easily see now what Sellon had seen. How are we supposed to approach him?
He was perched on a tree branch, his eyes closed and his raven hair teased by the breeze. Even relaxing he seemed magical. The wind seemed to blanket him the way it had Mistress, closing them in secrecy and beauty.
Since we had no leader, who better than Shun?
As we approached him, he leapt down from the tree to meet us at the bottom. "Why aren't you two celebrating?"
"We could very well ask you the same."
"I have no interest in parties."
"And you're still friends with Dan Kuso?" Chris questioned.
He leaned against the tree, eyes closed. "Yes." Clearly, he'd had this conversation before. "You still haven't answered my question."
Chris spoke, "Well, we decided to look for you."
"Why?"
"You..."
"Never mind. I know that you want me as a new leader, Soon."
"How?" Chris asked.
"It's too obvious. You two have become used to having a leader, to the point where you couldn't function without one. To get better, you must find your own way."
Chris huffed, "You just don't want to teach us. Dan told us about Komba."
He smirked lazily, "That might be another reason. But, you two need to find you own ways."
"But, you helped us, Shun. You are our light," Soon said.
"Then, it's time you shined."
Chris started to walk away, "I'm chill with that, Boss. See ya later." She hadn't been as into this idea as I had, but that was fine with me.
I grabbed his hand, "You are MY light, Shun," I said, pleading. For some strange reason, I'd fallen in love with him, just as Sellon had.
Still, he stayed hidden in the mystery that kept him away from reach. He pulled away, a stoic look plastered on his face, "I knew a girl exactly like you. Too afraid to break from the shadow of another."
"Finally, she decided it was time to let go. She became her own, and grew powerful herself," he stated.
Even I could see it in his eyes. No matter how well you hid your emotions, this was a feeling you could not hide from a lady. He'd fallen in love with this girl. And, most likely, she for him.
I smiled, "I understand." Though it was painful, he needed her. Who was I to stop something that could make Shun shine brighter? "Thank you for everything. You all really helped Chris and I."
I walked away from my light.
Maybe I could find my own way.
Just maybe.
Yeah, it's weak. I know that, but I couldn't bring myself to delete this stupid little drabble.
