Hey guys, so sorry that this story literally took me a year to update. I started Grad school here this past fall and before that I had my senior year of college. So needless to say, its been super crazy. I hope you guys enjoy the update.
As always, reviews are welcomed and encouraged.
Ursula entered the room with a frown on her face and a look of fear in her eyes
"We may have a problem."
"Problem? What sort of problem?" Regina asked as she sat up in the bed.
"I found out what world Rumple was sent to." Ursula began.
"Seriously?" Emma asked with a smile. "How on earth is that a problem?"
Emma leapt from the bed and began to change out of her nightclothes into day clothes.
"Regina, do you remember when I found that passage in one of Maleficent's books, about the land that is dark and old and filled with monstrous creatures?" Ursula asked, chewing on her bottom lip out of nervousness.
"We sent him there?" Regina asked, her voice barely a whisper as she stared down at her hands.
"Wait. Where did we send him to?" Emma asked as she tugged a white linen shirt over her head.
"The world is called 'Földet Sötétség' or 'Land In Darkness'." Ursula explained. "Monstrous creatures exist there, werewolves, things called vampyrs… it is a land of incredibly old magic. Cursed magic, mind you." Ursula finished.
"You guys have werewolves here." Emma supplied.
"Yes, but it is a genetic trait, not something that can be acquired through a bite." Ursula replied.
"So you're telling me that Rumple is in this 'Land In Darkness', and he's what- working with Count Dracula?" Emma asked with a chuckle.
Ursula and Regina glanced at each other, worry etched on their faces as they looked back to the still chuckling blonde.
"Wait, you guys are serious? You think Rumple is working with Dracula? Is the dude even real?"
"According to Mal's book, very real." Regina answered with a sigh.
"Also, very powerful and murderous." Ursula added.
"So that was the panicky news you had?" Emma asked. "That Rumple is working with a vampyr?"
"Emma, imagine the devastation if Dracula came to The Enchanted Forest, with forces of his own werewolves and vampyrs. What if they started to try and turn people?" Regina asked seriously. "We don't know how that magic would affect people here, best case it wouldn't be effective…"
"Worst case, it would turn them or kill them." Ursula finished.
"Why hasn't he come here himself then? Rumple has the magic beans." Emma asked, her brow creasing in confusion.
"I've thought that too, it doesn't make any sense. If he has the power to come here, then why doesn't he?" Ursula asked, looking to Regina.
"Why does anyone wait to make a move?" Regina asked as she looked to her fiancé and friend.
"Strategy." Emma answered as she ran a hand through her blonde curls.
"He's waiting for something." Ursula added. "But for what?"
Regina cast her eyes downward to her stomach, absentmindedly stroking the small bump that had begun to form.
"Regina?" Ursula asked as she watched her friend intently.
"What if he wants our child?" Regina asked Emma, her brown eyes looking to green.
"Why would he want our child?" Emma asked seriously as she sat down next to the brunette.
"It will be a first born… and a product of True Love."
"In other words, everything that Rumple would want, but why would Dracula want him to take your child. What would be in it for him?"
"I don't know." Regina said. "But I don't have a good feeling about it."
"Well if he is after muffin, then we have another six months of preparation." Emma said. "Which gives us an advantage."
"Emma is right Regi. We have six months to take every precaution." Ursula began. "The next question is, how would Rumple know when Regi would have the baby?"
"Spies?" Emma asked.
"It's definitely a possibility." Regina muttered.
"We need to weed them, or it, out." Emma said seriously. "Baby do you have a record of everyone in your service? Your guards, cooks, everything?"
"Of course." Regina replied seriously.
"We should check the records then and check around the castle, make sure everyone is who they say they are."
"Won't that spook the spy?" Regina asked with an arched eyebrow.
"Not if we say that we are just making sure everyone is back, since the curse had broken. We hadn't had time before because of the Ogre's." Emma explained.
"Good idea." Ursula replied with a nod. "I am going to go inform Cora of this plan, she can assist us in checking, as well as Alek."
"Claude as well." Regina added. "I trust them the most, they can check the guards."
"Sounds like a fairly decent plan." Ursula said with a smirk.
"What if Fangs isn't after the baby?" Emma asked seriously.
"Then we should also pursue other ideas of what he is after." Regina replied. "While we take precautions for the baby we can also pursue other possible avenues."
"Cover all of our bases." Emma said in agreement. "I just don't want anything happening to you or the baby."
"I know my love." Regina replied with a soft smile.
"Regi, where do you keep your records? I can start sorting them and we can start checking this all out now."
"In the library, my desk, bottom right drawer." Regina explained as she stood from the bed and waved her hand, her smoke encasing her body as she changed clothing.
She wore a pair of brown leather pants and a loose white tunic with brown riding boots.
"Casual attire today." Emma asked with a smirk before going to her and holding her in her arms.
"I will leave you two love birds alone then." Ursula said with a smile before departing in a sea of smoky black ink.
Regina sighed and shut her eyes, just enjoying the feeling of Emma's embrace.
"It'll be okay baby. I won't let anyone take muffin."
Regina smiled against Emma's neck and lightly kissed it. "I know you won't, and neither will I."
"So do you think that our baby is going to be really powerful?" Emma asked suddenly, her eyes widening in realization.
"What do you mean dear?" Regina asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, I'm a product of True Love and you and I are True Love's and now muffin is a product of True Love. So she's like a second generation of True Love. AND, you have magic and I have magic. So."
Regina chuckled at her fiancé's explanation. "Yes darling, I assume our muffin will be very powerful."
"All the more reason for them to want the baby." Emma replied with a dark expression.
"Yes, I suppose you are right. Our belief that they want her seems more possible by the second."
"Yeah, but for what?"
In the Land In Darkness…
"So, Rumple… you tell me I have six months to wait?" Dracula asked as he and the Dark One walked through his castle. Their shoes clicking against the lightly bloodstained stone floors.
"Indeed. Soon, the child will be born and I will secure it for you." Rumple replied with a smirk.
"No Rumple. That won't be necessary." Dracula said, a smirk of his own gracing his face.
"Sire?" Rumple asked, confusion evident in his voice as they continued to walk.
Dracula stayed silent until they entered his library, a vast room filled with old books and a large chalice in the center of the room.
"I will go and secure the child for myself, with an army of supernatural beings, and take over the Enchanted Forest."
"But sire, I thought your plan-."
"Plans change Rumple." Dracula explained as he swept his cape back from his body.
"What of the child then?" Rumple asked.
"The child will serve the same purpose as originally intended Rumple. The perfect combination of light and dark, and a product of True Love, this child will be the answer to my problems. I feel more comfortable going and acquiring the child for myself."
"Surely you will allow me to accompany you?" Rumple asked hopefully.
"Of course, I need a guide after all." Dracula replied easily as he walked towards the large window. "Although, it would have been much easier to have the child under our control if you would have succeeded in keeping this- Regina- evil."
"I underestimated the strength of their love." Rumple replied with disgust.
"So I can see."
"I understand True Love is powerful, but even I am surprised that the two were able to conceive, as they are both women." Rumple said with a hint of disgust.
Dracula smirked. "Rumple, this narrow-mindedness you are exuding right now, does not please me. Keep your thoughts to yourself." He said seriously, his blood red eyes flashing brightly before gazing out the window once more.
"Of course sire." Rumple replied with a bow.
"Six months. Six months and the child will be born."
Dark Kingdom...
"So. We have the colors picked, and we also have the location for the wedding." Snow began. "All we need to really decided is what food?"
"Everything. Pork, beef, chicken, swan…" Regina trailed off with a smirk. "It does not matter. Everyone in the kingdoms will be in attendance. It is to be a feast and celebration. I want everyone to be well fed and taken care of for this day."
Snow nodded in approval. "We can rustle up much of the food from our kingdom and yours."
"If need be I can magic up some food as well." Regina replied with a light chuckle.
"How's the wedding planning going?" Emma asked with a smile as she entered the dining hall and sat next to Regina with a tired sigh.
"It is going well, and how is our vampyr business?" Regina asked as she ran a hand through blonde locks.
"Its going. We can't really think of any other motives at the moment, so now we are planning precautions. Lots of magical barriers and enchantments all over the castle."
"If he is as old and powerful as the book says, and with Rumple at his side, we will need a lot of power to keep them at bay." Regina replied.
"I know. I'm going to be asking the fairies for help and Cora had a suggestion…" Emma trailed off, nervously biting her lip.
"What is it?" Regina asked seriously.
"She said we could always ask the dark witches and warlocks that live in the Dark Forest." Emma said quickly, watching as Snow's mouth dropped open and Regina's eyes widened.
"Emma you can't be serious." Snow interjected.
"My Mother and Emma are right Snow. It may be the only way. I can use Dark Magic, but these individuals live and breathe it. If we could convince them to help us…" Regina trailed off.
"But what would they want in exchange?" Snow asked.
"They aren't getting the baby that's for sure." Emma muttered.
"I could give them anything they want really." Regina said quietly. "They will just have to name their price. They'll tell me what they want in exchange for their help and I will give it."
"Woah woah, you aren't going." Emma said seriously.
"Emma, these people will not reason with someone as goodhearted as you."
"You have a good heart too Regina."
"Emma, you are a product of True Love, you have naturally white magic. You are the exact opposite of them. While I have reformed… I still carry a dark past. They will not listen to you. My mother and I on the other hand…"
"You want to go with Cora." Emma stated. "What about the baby?"
"Nothing will happen to the baby Emma. I will take Ajax with me as well, if it will make you feel better."
Emma thought for a moment and chewed on her lip.
"Only if Cora and Ajax are with you and if I can wait nearby just in case." Emma replied seriously.
Regina nodded and leaned over to kiss the blonde.
"Deal." She whispered against the blonde's lips.
