She didn't know where she was. She'd never been in a place that was even remotely like this before much less seen one, what with its yellow landscape that was dominated by a night sky that had three moons, one of which had rings, and the blue things that protruded from the ground like giant asparagus.
"RUN!" someone yelled in her ear.
There was an ominous rumbling behind her. She turned to look.
"Don't look, just RUN!" the short person in the brown and gray fur coat thing yelled behind him as he sprinted ahead.
Having looked, and not needing a second glance, she ran.
There was a small problem however, and that was the fact that she'd not had to run more than a block or so in order to catch the bus in years. Very soon, she was out of breath, and there was a massive stitch in her side that made breathing hurt. Wheezing along as her legs began to hurt more than they had in...ever, she valiantly continued her pathetic attempt at running.
She didn't get further than the equivalent of three city blocks.
The Doctor winced as he heard the crunch behind him as he shimmied up the massive fungus stalk in order to get out of the way of the massive boulder that had been rumbling along behind him for the last five minutes. That had been the fiftieth potential companion that month. He didn't know what it was with these new kids, Jamie and Zoe never gave him this sort of trouble.
