Seppen went home that day, thinking. She thought while she did paperwork, she thought while she painted masks, she thought while the spiders showed her the many Elsa costumes they were making. (The movie was great, it really was, but jeez, how many little girls wanted to be Elsa? Way too many.) She talked it over with Bobby, her first friend since becoming a spirit. He had told her in his own way that she should go, and read all she could about magic. The pumpkins were cooking dinner, and the smell of slow roasted pork, garlic, pasta, potatoes, and a veggie soup filled the air, finally distracting her from her thoughts on whether or not she should go to the magic school.

She was still recovering from malnourishment, even almost three years later. Tooth, Sandy, North, and Bunnymund all looked sad when they found out that she'd always be small, always be waif like, because she hadn't been fed right. She'd never grow tall like her mother and father, which made her sad too. But she was making good progress, her eyes were no longer set deep in her skull, her hair was healthier, her nails weren't as brittle, and she had more energy. Even though the smells of fatty foods filled the dark and spooky halls of her castle, the pumpkins would make sure she ate properly, with good vegetables and lots of healthy vitamins and fatty acids and all of that stuff. She didn't really know, but it was working, so she didn't question. The food was always delicious anyways, she didn't have any complaints.

As she ate, her food on a plate with spiderweb designs on it, she looked at the floor, once again in thought.

She didn't know much magic, in the scheme of things. Just things she'd experimented with, which didn't always turn out well. At this school she'd learn the basic building blocks for it, and she was really excited to learn potions, too. Thoughts of a cauldron over purple flames emitting sparkling smoke distracted her for a few moments, and she imagined a beautiful witch's hat to wear while stirring the potion. She imagined that the potion would make her bones stronger, as they were still a bit weak. She shook her head to make the fantasy go away.

It could be good for her to learn all of this.

But for the love of all that was holy, she didn't want to do homework.

But it was a school. They had homework. It's just what they did. She wished she had more information on what the school was like, like what classes she could take, an example of what she would learn, would she be able to go home after classes or would it be a boarding school? Free time to look after her holiday? Food? If it was a boarding school, how and where would she do laundry?

She made a face, and made up her mind. Once she was done with dinner, (and a chocolate pie with whipped cream she had spied) she'd write a letter to this Professor McGonagall to let her know of her decision.

Dear Professor McGonagall,

I would gladly attend your school to learn magic, but I have a few concerns and questions.

I'm sure that many of my questions can be answered when I get to the school, like how available laundry rooms are, food, holidays, sports, and such things, but there are several things that I would like to know before actually getting to the school.

For instance, what classes are offered to first year students? I know my parents were magical and if everything were right in the world I wouldn't need to ask this question at all, they'd just tell me what classes I could take, but I have grown up away from magic. I don't know anything about any of the classes. I know that the core classes are transfiguration, history, potions, charms, defense against the dark arts (I'm very excited for this class, by the way), and probably a class about magical animals from what I could puzzle out from the book list. Are there any electives I could sign up for?

Where should I get all of the supplies for school? Is there a recommended book shop? (Directions to this book shop would be welcome as well.)

What about the dress code? Will we be expected to wear robes all the time? Can I wear my own clothes under the robes, or will we be expected to wear dress shirts and slacks under them?

Is there a way for people like me (with no one at home) to get things I may have forgotten? Like toothbrushes?

And how will I even get to the school? Where is it?

I know that a lot of these questions are a bit silly, but I hope you'll be patient with me.

Eagerly awaiting your reply,

Seppen Potter

Seppen read over the letter, doing her best to check for any mistakes. She hoped that this Professor McGonagall would answer her questions patiently and clearly. She didn't think that this was too too many questions, and she thought that all of them were quite reasonable.

She gave the letter to North to send, and did a little skip. Despite how much she wasn't looking forwards to homework, she was excited. She decided that even if there weren't electives she could sign up for, she'd go to the school.

Because come on, who wouldn't want to learn potions?! Charms?! Magical plants?! Who wouldn't want to learn spells and read fantastical books and see fantastical things?!

And at that moment, Seppen couldn't think of a single person who wouldn't.
