Even a mutated fire-breathing lizard/marine iguana deserves a happy ending.

Disclaimer: Do not own either lizards or the humans in the team.

The moment she opened her eyes, she knew she was missing something. Something that was across the sea, over the boundaries of the lonely island she now lived on. Time and again, she'd dived into the deep blue waters, swimming away from her lonely little island. Time and again, she'd found her way blocked by a wall that she couldn't see. She clawed, she ripped, she sunk her razor-sharp teeth into it; but the wall will not bulge.

Perhaps Poseidon had heard her heart-wrenching cries on lonely nights, and took pity on this dweller of his domain. One night, rain poured in torrents as Thor's chariot sailed across the vast darkness, thunder roared and lighting flashed in his wake. It was that one night when a very loud boom woke her from her slumber. As if sensing something, she took to the lurching sea, further and further away from her lonely island, until she could no longer see it.

In his underground den, he was rudely roused from his nightly rest. Something is coming. Something important. Or, was it someone..? He stood, following his instincts, and dived into the water, heading off into the choppy ocean outside.

When she saw him, she knew it. And she knew that he knew it too. Her missing piece, her other half. Each other's half. Reunited finally.

"I think, maybe it's best if no one finds out where the big guy and his girlfriend are bunking at now."

"Right."

"And check which facility was holding her. It most likely isn't a legal one."

With that, the team left the two lovebirds...er... lizards at their new home, far enough from the populated area, but within distance for the team to get them in case of any trouble. That should be the best for now.

Came back years later on a nostalgia trip then decided to create a happy ending for one of my childhood favorites. And share it :)
