"Maura, I think that we need to talk. In private." Jane said to Kate after she witnessed the video conference.

"I..." Kate started but noticed that everyone else was still trying to process what had just happened. "Fine, but we go in my office" Kate said and lead the way. When they finally got there Kate sat in a chair behind her desk and Jane on the couch.

"Before you start, I am Kate Todd, I was, maybe still am, a secret service agent and also a special agent for NCIS, the name is Kate not Maura. Now you can yell, shout and throw things around my office."

But Jane didn't do any of these things, instead she asked: "How? Are Paddy and Hope even your real parents? How did you go from a secret service agent to a know-it-all that's obsessed with shoes and gets hives every time she lies?!" She was pissed at her, but she still wanted to know.

"Okay, Hope and Paddy are my real parents, they only know me as Maura, not as Kate Todd. I protected the president, everywhere he went, I was there too. One night The Secret Services, The FBI and NCIS fought over jurisdiction of a murder, NCIS won by flying Air Force One back in their headquarters, I got fired from The Secret Services and Gibbs offered me a job. Things were good for the first three years, I became a family with those people, but I was in danger because there was over 30,000,000 dirty dollars for my head because Paddy Sr. found out that I was Maura Doyle and that I was still alive. when the secret services reached out to me they told me that I'm a daughter of an Irish mob boss, and that there was a lot of money for my head, so, they said I should fake my own death and I did. Ari was a Mossad agent who was undercover, he owed me a favour so I asked him to help me do it, I just never thought that he would die because of it, I owe him my life." Kate stopped to wipe away the tears that were falling down her face. "As for the know-it-all part I graduated in Med School and when you're alone for too much time you read, a lot, and the hives are Maura, Maura couldn't lie, I can." Kate finished.

"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"Because I couldn't, there was still that hit on my head, and they told me not to tell anyone because my life depended on it. I never meant to hurt you, trust me."

"That's the thing, Maura, I can't! I can't trust you, you've been lying to me since the first day we met!" Jane yelled and stormed out of the office.

"It's Kate." Kate whispered when Jane left.

"Jane!" Korsak called when she exited the elevator. Jane went to her desk and sat opposite of Korsak and Frost.

"What did she tell you?" Korsak asked her.

Kate realised that she should explain this to her old team. She went up, she saw that Jane was telling something to Korsak and Frost but she didn't stop and went straight to the conference room.

"Kate, you're back." Tony said and that sentence had more than one meaning.

"Uhmm, I should probably explain all of this to all of you. Can you get Abby, McGee and Ducky back, please?" Ziva made the video call once again and waited only a few seconds till Abby, McGee and Ducky were back on the screen.

"Okay, here we go. I guess I should start at the beginning. I was born as Maura Doyle, the daughter of an Irish mob boss Patrick Doyle. I was adopted when I was a baby and ever since my name has been Caitlin Todd. I got into the Secret Services and after some time I was appointed on Air Force One. And then you came along, I got fired, Gibbs offered me a job, I accepted and well the rest is history. Then three years later The Secret Services told me my true identity and I had to fake my death because the whole Irish mob was after my head, and Ari helped me. He was never Al-Qaida, he was undercover for Mossad but he didn't betray them, he was their best." Kate finished.

Gibbs asked her what every one of them wanted to know. "How did you end up being chief ME, Maura Isles? And what should we call you, Kate or Maura?"

"It's Kate. I graduated Med School and read a lot, I worked hard and became the best there."

"Kate, I've missed you." McGee said over the screen, he was angry, they all were but he thought it would be better to say it now because she might disappear again.

"I've missed you too, rookie. Okay, I know you are all angry and that you don't trust me but can we get back to catching the murder who is killing women the way I died?" She said.

"Yeah, sure, but we are not done here." Gibbs said, the screen went black again, he called the detectives and appointed what everyone was going to do.

"Which one of you doesn't work good with files?" He asked Jane, Korsak and Frost.

"I don't." Korsak said, mostly because he wanted to get out of there.

"Okay, DiNozzo and Ziva go on the crime scene with detective Korsak, sketch, and photograph like the usual." He said and the three of them were gone. "The three of us are going to stay here and go through the files. Kate, who do you want studying your file?" Gibbs asked her.

"You, you knew me when that happened, it might help. What should I do?"

"You're going back to being a ME, get to the morgue, get Ducky and go over autopsies reports together." He said and she left the room.

"Okay, detectives, let's get to it."
