Superboy stared at the house in front of him. It was a small home, three bedrooms at most. A blue home with two swings in the front. He checked the paper in his hand. This was the address. The one of the woman...The one whose egg was used to grow him. His mother- in some sort of way.
A week after he had moved into Mount Justice with M'gann, Batman was running tests on his DNA. He had found the missing gaps in his DNA, the ones that couldn't be filled by Superman's, were filled by the egg donors. Roxie Love. The file had no picture, only an address. And it turns out, Roxie only showed up on the data base around three years ago. No files or data on her before. Not even Robin could find anything. Superboy took a breath, and walked up to the door, boots feeling like kryptonite.
He was about to knock on the door when he heard the rev of an engine. A motorcycle. The woman riding it looked so at peace with it, like she could just melt right into the powerful bike. Tight blue jeans, black boots, brown jacket and a tight black shirt. She dressed like him. No.. He dressed like her.
The woman noticed him standing by her door, and slammed on the breaks.
The bag holding the apples went flying. Right in front of Superboy. He looked at the shiny red fruits, then to the shocked woman.
The woman sat on the bike staring at him. She had thick brown hair that spiked everywhere kept into a ponytail, side bangs out and fluffed. She locked wide eyes with the Super Teenager.
Superboy felt his heart stop. She had blue eyes. Bright blue eyes...that were the same shade as Superman's. Superboy had her eyes.
She slowly got off the bike, pushing the kickstand down. She hesitantly walked toward him, eyeing was soon face to face with this woman. She lifted her head to look him in the eye, seeing he was taller than her 5'6 stature. He opened his mouth. "Are you Roxie Love?" She looked at him, then to the symbol on his black shirt. She furrowed her brows, as if trying to put puzzle pieces together. "Y-Yeah. I'm Roxie.."
Superboy felt the familiar sense of hope starting to float up inside. Only to squash it. What if she rejected him too? "Do you, by any chance, remember donating any of your eggs to a research company named Cadmus? Or Lexcorp? My name is Superboy, I'm-" Roxie had wider eyes- if that was any more possible. She reached a hand out and touched him. "You're him." She said shakily. Her hands had a slight roughness. The kind you'd get from hard work. "That son-of-a-bitch Luthor told me that the egg failed. My baby was dead.." She touched his face. "Please, come inside.."
Connor felt like he could fly with the joy he felt as the woman accepted him.
