Epilogue- Loving You Is Endless-
Stefan's P.O.V.
"So, how does it feel to be married?" I ask her, watching as she sips on a cranberry daiquiri with one of those yellow umbrella's in it. Her white sunglasses are falling off her eyes as she tilts her head to the side and leans back into the chair that's she's been sitting on, a breath taking view of the most bluest water that either of us has ever seen in front of us when he look out towards the ocean, sitting on the beach.
"It's wonderful. Mr. Salvatore. How's it feel to know that your in Bora Bora of all places, enjoying the scenery with your beautiful wife?" She asks in a teasing tone, a huge grin on her face when I watch her extend her hand out and wave me over.
"I don't want to go home, Stefan. Can we just call up the airlines and have them extend out our flights for..Oh, I don't...forever." Elena asks me, twirling a piece of her hair when she lets out a small laugh, leaning into me and capturing my lips against her own.
"Mhmm..I wish we could. But, we've already been here for two weeks. We need to go back home, Elena." I tell her, stroking the side of her face with my thumb as she exhales out a breath.
"I guess. But, we should test out that really nice bed one more time. I'm going to miss it." She replies, winking at me as she giggles. I watch her with wide, hunger filled eyes, my heart racing at the thought of her request.
"Fine. I'll race you there." I comment with a smirk, watching the half empty glass of her drink drop in to the sand when she laughs. "Fine. One...Two...Three!" She screams, shoving me out of the way, taking off and kicking up the golden looking sand under her feet as she runs towards our hut like hotel room.
I'm running after her the fastest that I can, nearly tripping over my own two feet when I finally round the corner to our room and notice that she isn't where I thought she'd even be waiting for me, by the front door.
"Over here, Stefan!" Elena shouts, extending out her long legs and running one of them up and down the sliding door that leads into our bedroom. Her tan colored leg and her voice is taunting me, causing my mouth to water a bit as I walk around the small building.
"Catch me if you can..." She says in a seductive tone. I look around the secluded area, the sun's going down a bit and it's getting late in the evening already. But, I can't help and think about anything else except for Elena and the fact that she's teasing me. When I finally go around back towards her voice, hearing her laughter throughout the open spaced layout of our room. I'm grinning like an idiot when she adds. "If you don't come quick, I'm going to start loosing more clothes. I suggest you hurry up and come and get me. Mr. Salvatore."
Exhaling deeply when I finally make my way towards the door, my sweaty palms push it open and when I finally lock my eyes on her, I can't help but not smile at how stunning my wife looks.
"You've got 10 seconds to walk over here and help me take this shirt off or..." She pauses, a huge smile on her face when she leans down and slips off her swimsuit bottoms.
"Or what?" I ask her, biting down on my lower lip, each step I take closer to her- I can see the desire in her brown eyes.
"I'll go take a shower without you." She says, lips pouting a bit as I let out a laugh and finally reach her, pulling her towards me when my hands wrap around her waistline and I can hear a loud gasp escape past her lips.
"I don't think so. Besides, after you and I are done..There will be no need for games like these, you'll be too tired." I tell her, watching as she nods and I take a step back, pointing to my wedding band. "We're married now, Elena. You're kind of stuck with me."
She watches as my fingertips glide under her chin so that our eyes are level with one another when she smiles and states in a sweet tone. "I know and I couldn't imagine being anywhere else but here with you. I love you, Stefan. Forever and always."
I nod, leaning into her and kissing the top of her head as she inhales and hears me whisper against her skin. "I know you do. I'm glad we finally are happy and together- forever." I tell her, pulling her against my chest as she places her chin on to my shoulder and holds me tightly when she states in a knowing tone. "Me too."
Caroline's P.O.V.
"Marry me." That's what he's spelled out on top of the kitchen counter with my bowl of cheerios that I forgot about this morning and didn't eat.
"Matt!" I shout out his name, spinning on the soles of my heels when I hear him let out a laugh. He's leaning against the door frame of the hallway in his apartment. He's shirtless with a towel wrapped around his waistline and his hands are above his head. He's never looked more handsome then he does now. His perfect athletic body causes me to lose my train of thought for a brief moment because I really can't even remember what I wanted to say to him, why I was even yelling his name.
"Hi, Care." He says, smirking, releasing his grip from the wall and walking over to me and giving me a quick kiss on the lips. I watch as he takes a step back, peering over my shoulder at the cereal behind me.
"What's up with your breakfast this morning..I think it's trying to tell you something." He states in a joking manner with a wink. I'm not amused because we talked about this, weeks ago, months ago- we talked about this and the whole idea of marriage and he knows what I said...or at least, he should remember..right?
"I don't know, Matt. You tell me. Why is my cereal asking for a marriage proposal?" I ask him, trying my best to keep a straight face at the stupidest question I feel like I've ever asked him before. But, when his blue eyes lock on mine. I can't hold it any longer.
Matt watches with amusement as I laugh out loud at his attempt at trying to be romantic. "Honey, we talked about this." I remind him, seeing the look of slight disappointment in his eyes.
He nods, taking a few steps towards me and placing his hands on to my arms when he smiles and adds. "Caroline Forbes. I love you more than you will ever know. We've been through a lot together and I don't want to waste my time playing games anymore. You're the one for me, Caroline. Now, please..Will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?" He asks me, slowly bending down on his knee in nothing more than this white towel that he's still holding in place, smiling when I laugh.
"Shouldn't you be in a suit instead of a towel, it's a bit more appropriate." I tell him playfully, watching him shake his head.
"I asked you a question first." He points out, looking up at me with his bright blue eyes and a ever loving gaze.
"Well, since you've asked me so nicely. Twice. I suppose my answer is yes. Yes, Matt Donovan. I'll marry you and it's not just because you look smoking hot right now." I reply, taking a step back as Matt almost looks like he's jumped up from his spot near the dining room table in his apartment when he says. "Seriously..you will?"
It's like he's in shock when I place my hands on both sides of his face, smiling and leaning in to kiss his lips softly when I pull away from him and reply in a soft tone. "Yes, Matt. I love you and so, because of that..I want to marry you, I want to spend my forever, with you."
Lexi's P.O.V.
"So, where's the realtor that's supposed to be meeting us here?" I ask him, hearing the creaking noise of the wooden floors underneath my feet, walking around and examining the house that we've been in for the last hour.
"Shouldn't we wait until your brother and Elena get back from their honeymoon in like two days? Damon, we can't house hunt for them." I comment, stepping over to the kitchen and taking in the oak cabinets, the light marble counter tops and the window that leads out to a small looking patio with a cherry wood gazebo outback.
"She isn't coming." He states, spinning the keys that have miraculously appeared in his hands. He takes a few steps towards the kitchen, shrugging his shoulders back when he asks. "What do you think about this place. Do you like it?"
I smile, crossing my arms over my chest and leaning against the counter, my backs turned away from the window and my head is turned looking directly at Damon who's standing in the middle of what could be a really nice spot for a living room.
"What's there to not love? Damon, this place is beautiful. It's close to where Stefan and Elena want to be because they want to be closer to Nathan, watch him grow up. It's got great schools, a beautiful open lay out and it has a freaking gazebo with a fire pit in the back." I explain, exhaling deeply when I hear him laugh.
He's smiling when my eyes catch his gaze. It's that 'I'm hiding something from you' smile that drives me absolutely crazy! But, I can't help but smile too when he walks towards me. I watch when he slides the keys across the counter, adding with wide eyes and a wink. "Good. Because, I just bought it this morning. This clearly isn't a house for Stefan and Elena, they picked out something else which is move in ready near here- a few blocks closer to Denise and Nick. But, this place...I was thinking that-." I cut him off, hearing him pause when I grab the keys into my hands and push myself away from the counter of the kitchen, a stunned expression on my face.
"It's our house?" I question him in a disbelieving tone, somewhat surprised that he went behind my back and bought it without even telling me. Even more surprised that work for him as been going so well and that he was even saving up all that money to buy it.
"Well, I mean...I've been saving up for a long time now and the down payment for it wasn't too much, neither was the asking price. And, it beats living in a crappy old apartment or in a hotel room. I guess, it is our house..That is, if you want it to be?" He asks me.
I pause for a moment, place my hand on to the counter and look around the empty space. It's beautiful, this house, this area and knowing that Damon and I could get our chance at living near here- would be perfect. It's like he doesn't breath for a moment, just staring up at me in wonder when I finally blurt out. "Yes. I want it to be, our home. I love you, Damon and I want to move in with you. I want us to start our lives over again in this house, together. I want to stay in New York with you."
Damon's smile is permanently plastered on his face as he closes the distance between us, placing his hands on both sides of my cheeks when he says "Good. Because, I was just about to say..." His voice trails off as I lean into him and kiss his lips, breaking away from a moment with a smile.
"What did you want to say?" I ask him, dangling the keys from the house in my hands, watching when he snatches them away from me in a playful way as he pulls me closer and whispers into my ear. "Welcome home, Lexi."
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you all liked the ending to it! :)
