Muddy Moon

It was raining. I sat beneath the tree watching the clouds cry. The wind was gone like my friends. My hair was a tangled wet mess hanging down past my shoulders, wetting my back. Mud covered my feet up to just past my ankles. I was alone, but wasn't lonely. I watched a set of birds fly by hastily. I wonder if I should be heading home as well. I pull myself up right and step out from the shelter of the large willow tree. The rain caressing my pale light skin once again.

Home is left, but I head right. Not sure why. As I make my way the clouds subside and I see stars in the sky. How much time has passed since I made my way here? I stop and see something just beneath a bush. Something bright and blue. Something new.

I hold it softly in my hands and look over the painted egg. With a hue of blue and mixed with green, this egg was quite a beautiful thing. Without a second thought I close my eyes and bring it to my lips and with a single kiss I make a wish. My eyes peak out from behind my eye lashes and greet the moon watching me. I laugh and smile up at my only true friend.

"Do you know who made this egg?"

"Do you think it was made just for me?"

...

"Perhaps I should head home now. Perhaps show momma my new found treasure?"

...

"Will you stay out here, nice and bright, to help me find my way?"

...

I turn away from your silent words and make my way home to momma. Thoughts of my baby sister finding there way into my mind. I wonder now if she'll smile at my new treasure. I cradle it safely to my chest. My fingers grasping it tight, yet carefully. My wish the last thing on my mind before I leave the forest behind to spend the night in my bed.

'Let this egg take me to who is made for me. To my love though they may be far away."

I was trying to make something beautiful. Something obvious, but secret.

Review please. I would really like to know how this One-shot made you feel. Also: At the moment I am loopy from a cold and not updating my stories till I am better. That's why I keep posting one shots that make no sense.
