Eira was the first to awaken in the cave. Across from her was Jack Frost sound asleep. Startled to see the Guardian, Eira looked down at herself examine her new form. Last night, the Evening Star granted her wish. Baby Tooth was no more. Now, she was Eira a Winter Spirit just like Jack, dare she say his equal? Eira pushed the blankets off of her as she stood up. Her first day as a Winter Spirit. Thoughts were racing through her mind, will they build a snowman? Or would they have a sled race? Or even a snowball fight! The possibilities are endless now!

"Jack," Eira called far too excited to start the day. But, there was no response from the sleeping guardian.

"Jack," she called again. But, still, Jack didn't wake from his slumber. With a sigh, Eira walked over to Jack. If calling his name isn't going to wake him. Then maybe shaking him awake would.

Once Eira got closer she couldn't help but notice Jack's face. It was like his skin was made of porcelain. Jack Frost was beautiful. Eira concluded there was no doubt in her mind. She originally planned to shake him awake. To startle him a little, but Eira was frozen in place unsure if she even wanted to wake him. As if he sensed her anxiety, Jack slowly opened his eyes and turned to look at his new partner.

"Snowflake, good morning." His voice was heavy from sleep. Eira's cheek turned a beet red.

"Good morning, Jack," Eira said

"It's not a dream," he muttered life his upper back and put himself in sitting position.

"I pray not." Eira a little taken back by the statement. Then a grin spread from cheek to cheek across the Guardian's face.

"I've heard that in a long time."

"Heard what?"

"I pray not"Jack lightly mocked. "We've got to work on your slang." Jack chuckled

"Is there something wrong about how I speak?" Eira questioned

"Nothing is wrong. But, I haven't heard anyone speak like that in centuries." Eira eyes widened as she placed the tips of her fingers on her lips.

"Is that so? I haven't spoken a word in nearly three hundred years. Is it that noticeable?"

"I'm afraid so." Jack mocked as Eira pouted. Oh, of course, this would be her luck. Finally, she looked the part but not being able to communicate with the children. She was in divine comedy indeed.

"Don't stress yourself out. You're smart Eira. Jaime and his gang will modernize you in no-time." Jack yawned a bit.

"Are you still tired?"

"Kinda, I don't usually take up at the crack of dawn. You're still Tooth-Fairy-Schedule."

Jack stood up and raised his arms into the air and stretched a bit. With another long yawn, the Guardian walked out of the cave with Eira following set.

"I could've used a few more hours of sleep," Jack yawned as he stretched his arms up towards the sky. Eira soon followed after him. As the two walked out of the cave, Eira noticed the dimmest light coming from the distance.

Eira stared as the sun as it began to climb up the sky displaying its bright light into the world. It's far too long since Eira last saw a sunrise. She has seen countless sunsets as a tooth fairy. That's when their shift would begin to collect the children's teeth. See the pink sky shifting an intense yellow-orange light that the star cast over it. And to see the darkness being banished by the start of a brand new day. Reminded Eira just how tiny she was compared to the rest of the world.

"You like sunrises?" Jack asked. Since Eira hadn't spoken a word since they left the cave.

"Very much so."

"I don't remember you even being this quiet during a sunset." Jack teased

"I enjoy sunsets too. It's beautiful to see the sky change into so many different colors and shades." Eira marveled.

"Sounds like we need to make a trip to see the Northern Lights."

"The Northern Lights?"

"Ahhh, no spoilers. You'll just have to wait till I take you."

"When will that be?" with a sly smile on her lips

"It's a surprise, Eira," Jack said as he began to walk down the snow-covered ground. There was no trace of their marching on the field. It seems Winter Spirits can't leave footprints on snow, Eira reasoned.

"What do you have a plan for today?"

"Mhm, don't know. Let's see where the day takes us," Jack mused. "Go with the flow."

"Go with the flow?" Eira questioned. "Do you mean flying? Do you want to teach me how to fly?"

Jack grinned and turned to Eira with a glimmer in his frost blue eyes.

"Yes, Eira, great idea! I can teach you how to fly."

As a Winter Spirit, Eira didn't have wings. When she was a tooth fairy, Baby Tooth's wings granted her the ability to fly. Flying was as natural as breathing; her wings were a part of her. If memory serves, whenever Jack flew there were always a strong gust of wind pushing him forward. Then as if summoned by Eira's mere thought, a cold breeze brushed over them.

"Hey North Wind, this is Snowflake. She's the newest Winter Spirit."

"Snowflake…Ummm hello." Eira greeted. As a spiral of wind span around her.

"Now Snowflake, the North Wind will take you to any direction you want to go."

"Okay…umm…I want to go up." Eira said.

A little tornado began to form at the base of Eira's feet. Before Jack could react before he could say a single word. The North Wind spring Eira into the sky.

Eira was screaming on the top of her lungs. This wasn't how Jack flew! The strong wind behind her was pushing her higher and higher into the sky. Eira began to panic. Would Jack know what happened? Would the North Wind keep her up in the air until she was in space? Or would it drop her in mid-air for her to come crashing down back to Earth? Tears began to stream down her face.

"Snowflake!" Eira turned her head to see Jack was flying over towards her.

"Jack!" she cried desperately reaching out to him as the wind blasted through them. Jack took Eira's hand and held onto it tightly. Eira held onto Jack's hand for dear life. If the North Wind decided to blow them into a different country. At least, they'll still be together.

"I'm sorry, I forgot the North Wind plays these type of trick. Let it know when you want to come back down." Jack counseled as Eira sniffled a bit

"I want to stop, please." Eira cried as the wind stopped. Before a brief second, Eira thought they were was going to start falling now. The North Wind seemed as done with its games and gently brought the two Winter Spirits down to the snowy ground. Jack slipped his hand away from Eira's.

"Well, that's enough for today," Jack called it. "Come on North Wind, you're going to make the poor girl too scared to fly now," Jack called out as a gentle breeze brushed over them. "I think this is its way of saying sorry."

"If I had a human heart I believe I would have died from the mere fright. I'll have to think about it," Eira turned to Jack with big watery eyes. "Jack, you can teach me something less…intense, please?" Eira pleaded.

"Fine, let's walk to back to town. We'll hang out with the kids." Jack declared.

"Okay, that sounds like fun!" Eira clasped her hands.

"That's the spirit," Jack said as he ran up ahead with Eira not too far behind.

A/N: This was a very differently chapter for me. I'm still not too pleased with it. Let'll just pushed the story along for now. I might go back to edit it some more in the future. Who knows?

Sincerely,
