The rating changed from "T" to "M" for various reasons. Okay, so I know I said I was going to create a second book for this, but I after doing so, I don't really see the point, because people will have to read this one, then go to that one, when they can just continue on with this story rather than having to switch every time a book ends. So it will continue on this book, just under new saga names.

Dragon Ball Z: Future's Freedom

Chapter 21: Awakening

The word "kill" kept ringing in my head. Unable to move my body, I sat there, watching the genocide occur in front of me. A great ape completely destroying everything and everyone in it's path. Kill...Kill...Kill...KILL! The words kept erupting in my head, and it seemed as though he spoke to me...but I didn't respond...I couldn't respond. The ape stepped on innocent civilians. He fired blasts from his mouth and the planet looked as if it was about to burst under the magnitude of his power. He roared to let the galaxy hear him. The shock wave was enough to deaf the surrounding victims and literally stop the hearts of others from pure shock. He glared at me with the intention to kill. Then I woke up...

It was nothing but a dream...a nightmare. I wanted to forget. I was in a bed, tucked under the sheets. I sat up without any trouble. I rubbed my eyes and it was apparent that I was back on the Lookout. I felt something also moving according to my will. Almost like another limb. I looked behind me and it was a tail. It was almost as if it was looking at me, saying 'hello.' I yawned and immediately wondered what had happened to me? I could hear footsteps coming my way from the other side of the door. It was Gohan who opened the door, and sure enough, he was surprised to see me awake. "Ah! Gosen! You're awake!" He yelled out enthusiastically. He then yelled out toward the entrance of the lookout, telling everyone that I was awake. It makes me think about how long I've been asleep for exactly.

The entire group came in. I still didn't understood what happened. It still feels like a bit of a dream. Some of them smiled, while the others kept that deadpan expression like they always do. "How're you feeling Gosen?" Gohan asked me. Well, it's hard to explain how I'm feeling right now. I don't feel any pain. My memory is pretty hazy and my body feels heavy, despite looking slimmer than I did previously.

"Well, I'm breathing..." I told him. That pretty much summed up my feelings, so it was as good an answer as any. I looked through the group, the only people I didn't see were Vegeta and my dad. "Where's Vegeta and Dad?" I didn't really care for Vegeta, but I didn't want to look like a douche in front of Trunks. Speaking of Trunks, it felt like I was forgetting something. Shouldn't he have been unconscious or something? Ah well...

Yamcha quickly answered one of my questions. "Vegeta is still sulking about what that android did to him. Who knows where he is right now, not that it matters."

17 commented. "You talk as if you had more of a chance against Sis than he did. Quit sucking yourself." Yamcha appeared hurt, angered and silent by 17. It appears that this had been happening for a time as well, not like I care anyway.

"So where's my Dad?" That question still hadn't been resolved yet. Everyone looked at me silently. Gohan was the most silent of them all, almost looking like he was about to go into tears. Piccolo told me to get dressed and follow him after I was done, so I did just that. I couldn't find my original clothing, so I just wore my dad's colors with the symbol on the lower left and the back. I walked with the group into a different room, where I saw a body covered under a white sheet. I immediately caught on. My father was dead...

I struggled to get words out and my breathing got heavy. "He succumbed to the ominous heart virus. I'm sorry, Gosen..." Piccolo told me. Everything was starting to come back to me, in what felt like a big dream. Trunks, Vegeta and 17 were out for the count. Me and 18 fought against Cell...and...Dad suffered from a mysterious virus...

"Do you remember now?" 18 asked me. I clenched a fist, but somehow I couldn't bring myself to cry...

"Not everything...but I'm getting there." It scared me how little I was reacting to this. "When did he die?"

"2 days before you woke up." Gohan told me. I was shocked so much that I had to jump as if someone just frightened me.

"2 days! How long was I out?" I screamed at them, unable to control myself.

"For 2 weeks...We fed you a senzu bean after they finished growing. Your wounds healed, but you were still out of it. Everyone was really worried." Yamcha answered. I looked to the floor. I felt sweat coming down my face.

"In fact, you do look different than before." Piccolo pointed out to me. I didn't really feel different. I just felt heavy and my muscle mass appeared to have slimmed a bit. "Aside from the scar on face, you look taller. Before, you're head would have been at Vegeta's eyes, now you're definitely taller than him, though it's just a little bit." The only thing I caught was the apparent scar on my face. Wasn't the senzu bean supposed to heal everything?

"Well, we'll talk about all that later." 18 walked up to me saying. Before, we were looking at each other eye to eye, but now, there was a slightly noticeable height difference between me and 18. I guess what Piccolo said was spot on. She took a huge band of my hair in her hand and pulled at it.

"O-Ow!"

"You're hair was extremely long before, extending all the way down to your butt, but now, it's getting even more wild. Let me cut it."

"W-Wait, we don't have to do it right now." She pulled on my hair harder, and forced me out the room, dragging me like a dog by my own hair. It's like she became more violent since I was asleep.

"Where are you going with him? We have important things to talk about!" Trunks yelled out at her.

"He just woke up and he's already been put close to tears. Give him some time to breathe. You'll have plenty of time to talk later." 18 stated. If it's one thing I know about her, once she's made up her mind, that's it.

But aside from all that, I'm curious. Now, I definitely remember fighting Cell...but I don't exactly remember what happened. The last thing I remember was being punched into a wall...It's obvious I lost if I was put in a bed, unconscious, but what happened to me for my body to feel this heavy?
