I see this story is quickly losing popularity… *sigh* Sorry it's taken so long for me to do this, school has been such a pain lately! DX The next chapter may have spoilers for the Azran Legacy, but for sure not this chapter. It's still just the very generic "Emmy left and whatever happened must have hurt Layton" thing.
This DOES have spoilers for Legend of Korra (last episode of season one) and Professor Layton and the Cheerful Mystery, (a manga of Professor Layton which I'm proud to say I've never read) but it doesn't even matter since from what I've heard it's terrible and it for sure has nothing to do with the actual story. Anyone read it?
Weeks had passed since that fateful day where Professor Hershel Layton, Luke Triton, Emmy Altava, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup Utonium, Aang, Katara, Zuko, Toph, and Sokka were taken to the real world to save it, and Teddy walked from door to door of the other-dimensional beings' rooms, pressing her ear against each door in order to check on everyone.
"No way!" She heard Luke cry out from his and Layton's room.
"Blasphemy!" Emmy yelled.
"You do realize what 'blasphemy' means, right?" Professor Layton asked calmly.
"Yes, yes I know. But-a true gentleman wouldn't do that to poor Luke!" Teddy giggled as she knocked gently on the door. "Come in."
Teddy walked in to see Professor Layton sitting on one bed, and Luke and Emmy sitting side by side on the other bed. All three looked disgusted, and Teddy quickly knew why.
"I see you guys have stumbled across the Cheerful Mystery?" She asked with a giggle. They all nodded angrily. "It's terrible, I know!"
"Professor Layton WOULD NOT have chucked a bomb at Luke!" Emmy stated defensively. "He would have made sure Luke got to safety and taken the bomb himself if no safe way out were possible like the gentleman he is!" Layton blushed as Emmy said this and gave a slight smile. "Who ever said this actually happened? … It never actually happened, right?"
"Of course not, Emmy!" Layton said as his blush faded away. "I would never do anything of the sort!" He winked at Emmy, causing Luke to smile ear-to-ear.
'Finally, he wasn't even angry back when she left…' He thought to himself.
"It's just a story, everyone who's read it knows it's not part of your real story! It is real in another dimension though… I saw it in the machine when it was processing the different possible people from different dimensions. It's a shame my story isn't published yet, my characters may have been brought here… Uncle said that the machine would have brought them anyway if they were meant to come though…" Teddy said.
"Good!" Emmy said as she released the tension in her shoulders. "You're uncle's right, by the way. What's your story about?"
"It's… A work in progress. I'll tell you about it soon!" Emmy nodded, and then scowled at the TV screen.
"If you can send messages to the other dimensions, apologize to Luke for me!"
Teddy laughed. "Will do! … This story gets worse, by the way!" She said with smirk.
"You're kidding me, right?" Emmy asked as her shoulders slumped.
"Unfortunately, no. Professor Layton steals a pie from Whats-His-Name who loved food in St. Mystere in the next story, and in the one after that, he gets scared by a moving suit of amour, leaving Luke to comfort him! I think it happens twice, if I remember correctly…" She looked at the other three and observed their jaws as they went as far to the ground as their bodies let them go. She laughed.
"It won't last forever, trust me. Just wait for Layton Brothers: Mystery Room. It can get fairly violent at times, but it's MUCH better than this!" She waved them off as she walked out of the room to check on everyone else.
She pressed her ear against the room Aang, Zuko, Katara and Sokka were in to hear their loud cheering. She knocked and allowed herself in to see the four of them, as she had heard, cheering; as they watched Mako from 'Legend of Korra' overcoming Amon's blood bending. She smiled and nodded as she left before they would stop the show so that the watching experience would be completely unaltered.
She pressed her ear against Toph's room to hear a light "Oh Sokka you idiot…" Before chuckling and walking over to check on the Powerpuff Girls.
"I remember that!" Bubbles said with a laugh; the other girls followed.
Teddy allowed herself in with a knock and smiled as she noticed the episode 'The City of Clipsville' playing on the girls' screen. Teddy smiled and laughed.
"That's my favorite episode!" She said with a smile; Bubbles and Blossom smiled back at her.
"Mine too!" Bubbles said with her own smile.
"Shut up guys, the next episode's coming on!" Buttercup said with her eyes locked on the screen. Teddy was taken aback, but regained her composure when she realized exactly who was talking.
"Will do, enjoy the show!" She said with a smile as she stepped out of the room.
