A/N: Writer's block. Forgetting to work on the story. School and work. I could try to make excuses. I really shouldn't. So... sorry.
Disclaimer: Nope.
"So how horrible was it?" Artemis asked.
"Not that bad. Surprising really. You'd think it'd be worse," Conner shrugged.
"Its weird. Everyone seems to be too scared," M'gann said solemnly.
They had all seen the papers. The previous examples of what had happened to people who tried to become something. Minor crimes were overlooked. If you tried to emulate one of the villains, you were normally killed by them. Leaving reasons for the people to remain human and normal and under the radar which picked up on spandex and bright colors. Which added to the greyness of the world.
"What do you think they're going to do about us being here?" Wally asked.
"They will not be pleased. We will have a fight on our hands soon enough," Kaldur guessed.
"They need to be dealt with," Ra's snapped.
"We have been working on it. We have Klarion trying to pinpoint the magic use of Zatanna and Doctor Fate," Vandal informed.
"Then why don't we have them?"
"Because the League isn't that stupid," Lex sneered.
"If we can just find my daughter then everything else will go much easier. The other children are such followers they followed her to this hell," Sportsmaster insisted.
"You just want to get back your prized creation. You say that I'm stupid for having created the clones. But then you get so attached to that daughter of yours. We could have had a dozen different versions of her if you had just agreed to give Cadmus her DNA to make clones," Lex snapped.
"Because you'd put mind control in the kid. You've seen what that does to them. You never put any in the pure kryptonian kid and he did so much better," Sportsmaster argued.
"While the boys argue over which toy is better can we get back to the problem?" Queen Bee drawled.
"I can find the kiddies. For a price," Joker grinned.
"You'll bring them back dead. We can still use them," David said.
"You just want your son back," Queen Bee dismissed.
"That's what most of the people working with us want. They want their work back," David insisted.
"They are not objects. You all seem to forget that. The children owe you nothing except the traits they have. They have no obligation to you. They all were capable of getting over that. They no longer have anything that connects them to you. You expect them to to be little toys that you can manipulate. You forget that they are human beings you need to manipulate. They have more strings that need to be pulled. You're pulling on ones that stopped existing long ago. It is time to change the game."
