~*~*~*~*~Envy's point of view, 3 and a half months later~*~*~*~*~*~*~
I sighed, looking down at Leah who was currently fast asleep in her warm bed. I took a risk and decided to look at her one last time before I was to go track down Dr. Marco. I had gotten a tip from one of Kimblee's chimeras that they were with a village of Ishvalans. I looked down at Leah's stomach, it now having a decent sized bump. I had bags under my eyes from watching over them every single night for the past few months. If I was lucky, I'd get to rest during the day when Father wasn't busy ordering me around. But now that I was leaving for God-knows-how-long, I didn't know what to do. Who would watch over Leah while I was gone? Both of her brothers were away, apparently going to Briggs. That stupid Colonel was also busy trying to find out who killed that Maes Hughes guys. I scoffed, not worrying about him finding out it was I who killed his friend. I was, however, worried about Leah's safety as well as our child's.
'I promised I'd protect the both of you.' I thought mentally, my eyes analyzing every inch of Leah's sleeping form.
I leaned my face down closer to her's but stopped myself. I couldn't let her see me, not when she was finally starting to move on. I exhaled softly. My eyes drifted to her stomach again. A tiny smile crossed my features. 'It's growing up so fast,' I acknowledged. To be honest, it filled me with a certain proud, happy feeling. Knowing that I had helped make something so innocent and amazing, it made me proud. It was right then and there when I knew what I had to do. I knew what I had to do to make sure the two most important people in my life would remain safe from Father. I looked at Leah for a moment more before I vanished from the apartment, heading off to my destination.
''Well look who it is,'' his cocky smirk made me glare.
''Shut up Greed, I came here to talk,'' I muttered at the taller Homunculus.
Greed's smirk widened. He was still in the body of that idiot prince, making him all the more obnoxious. He quirked a brow in interest.
''Oh? Go on then, little bro,'' he chuckled.
''I'm older than you dumbass, and I need to ask a favor,'' I sighed.
''And why the hell would I help you, palm tree?'' he asked making me growl.
''You like Leah, right?'' I said, getting fed up with Greed. His eyes widened and he grinned.
''Short, big boobs, pretty gold eyes?'' he asked making me nod with a sneer.
''Look after her while I'm gone,'' I said bluntly.
''Why should I? Can I have sex with her?'' Greed smirked, dirty thoughts clouding his mind. I snarled, shoving him into the alley wall.
''She's pregnant with my kid. You will not touch her,'' I growled.
Greed's eyes widened at my confession. He then smirked slightly. ''Why should I help you? Why shouldn't I just turn her into Father?'' he pressed.
''Cause I know you already left Father and the others. I also know you care about Leah's safety and so does that Prince inside of you,'' I growled.
A look of shock crossed Greed's eyes. He had known I was right about him caring about Leah's safety. He made it look like it was just lustful feeling he held for her but I knew both he and Ling cared about her. It wasn't love, but it was caring nonetheless. I panicked when I saw the inner struggle Greed showed through his eyes. I needed him. I had no one else I could trust to look after Leah. If Greed didn't watch after her and the baby, Leah would be in serious danger. Greed finally sighed, his eyes closing in slight irritation. He had made his decision. He opened his plum-colored eyes to gaze into my violet ones.
''Where is she?''
~*~*~*~*~*~Leah's point of view~*~*~*~*~*~
My eyes fluttered open. I could've sworn I sensed someone's Philosopher stone. My eyes widened. ''Envy?'' I asked softly. No answer. I sighed sadly. Of course it wasn't him, he hadn't been around for the past two months. He didn't care about me or our baby, he had no reason to come back. I had been having dreams of waking up to him watching me sleep. I would cry and he'd smile, telling me everything was ok. Just when I would be about to hug him, I'd wake up. I huffed, dragging my reluctant and pregnant body out of bed. I went to the shower and sighed in content as the warm water traveled down my body.
After a blissful shower I reached out for my white cotton towel.
''Here ya go,'' a voice said politely.
''Thank you,'' I yawned.
Just as I wrapped the towel around my body and stepped out of the shower I froze and screamed. A smirking Greed just waved at me, casually sitting on my sink's counter.
''Hey kitten,'' he winked. His eyes traveled down my barely covered body. ''Very nice, I can see why Envy knocked you up,'' he grinned.
SMACK!
''Ow! What the hell?!''
''Pervert!''
I had decided to take my shampoo bottle and had succeeded in hitting Greed in the center of his forehead with it. I growled, yanking my towel higher to make sure I was covering my breasts. It proved to be harder to do with an almost seven month pregnant body. I exhaled, closing my golden orbs to maintain my calm demeanor. I slowly reopened them to glare at the Homunculus. ''What are you doing here Greed? Don't make me hurt you!'' I growled. He shot me a deadpanned look.
''As if you didn't do that already. And relax hot stuff, I'm just watching over you while your little boyfriend is away,'' he scoffed. My eyes widened.
''Envy?'' I blinked. Greed rolled his eyes, his usual smirk in place.
''No duh babe. The cranky palm tree came to me this morning and told me he had to leave to track down some Dr. and your tin-can brother. He also said to watch out and protect you and your baby,'' he explained, eyes trailing to my decently sized belly. His smirk widened. ''And now I see he was telling the truth, you're carrying the asshole's kid,'' he chuckled. I frowned a bit but froze at the realization.
''He had been watching me? After all this time, he watched out for me?" I asked in shock.
Greed nodded. ''Father wants you dead after the whole 'I don't want to be turned into Lust' incident. Envy figured it was safer if he left you and the kid so he did. He still watched over you to make sure Pride and Wrath stayed away,'' he shrugged.
I gasped, tears welling up in my eyes. I leaned against the wall, Greed watching me with concerned eyes. ''Babe? You ok?'' he blinked. I sniffled, a huge smile on my pink lips. I nodded shakily. ''A-All this time I thought he left because he didn't care about me or our baby. B-But now I know it's because he does care. He still loves me,'' I smiled through my tears. Greed felt uneasy with me crying and attempted to get me to stop.
''Psh, the bastard never stopped loving you,'' he said.
I laughed, nodding my head in thanks. Greed held out a hand to help me up. I smiled and took it. After getting dressed in a simple blue summer dress. We now sat at my kitchen table. I noticed Greed staring at my stomach and felt annoyed.
''If you wanna ask something then go ahead,'' I blinked.
''Have you thought about what you're going to do if Envy doesn't come back alive?'' he asked bluntly. My eyes widened and I nodded hesitantly.
''I would move back to my home town, get my own place. And then I'd raise him on my own,'' I smiled down at my stomach, placing my right hand on it.
Greed's eyes widened. ''Him?'' he blinked.
I beamed, nodding. ''It's a boy, I can tell,'' I smiled. Greed chuckled. ''I hope he has a manlier voice than his old man,'' he smirked. I chuckled.
''What're you gonna name him?'' he asked.
I pondered, shrugging. ''I always wanted to name my son after his father, but I doubt Envy Jr. would fit in when he would go to school,'' I smirked. My expression became serious. ''Do you know where Envy is?'' I asked. greed quirked a brow. ''Why?'' he asked. ''I already thought I lost Envy once, I'm not letting him leave me again,'' I said, getting up from the table. Greed followed me to my bedroom, just as I was packing a bag.
''Just what the hell do you think you are doing?'' Greed blinked.
''Packing,'' I said casually, tossing some outfits into my backpack.
''Oh no, no, no, no, NO. Envy gave me orders to keep you here and to keep you safe,'' Greed glared slightly, snatching the black backpack from my grasp. I pouted. ''Greed I'm fine. I'm pregnant, not broken so give me the bag,'' I tried retrieving the bag but to no avail. Greed scoffed. ''You're almost seven months pregnant. To get to where Envy is, it would mean traveling for another half a month. I don't think you'd travel well with a knocked up stomach and a baby threatening to pop out at any moment,'' Greed pointed out. I sighed, knowing he had a point. I locked my amber gaze with his.
''I'm not a normal human anymore Greed, I haven't been for a while now. My stone would heal me and my baby while we traveled. I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't truly important,'' I said seriously.
Greed signed, leaning against the door frame. He pinched his brows together in frustration. ''Envy would kill me, he said to-,''
''Envy said to protect me. You'll be protecting me, I promise at the first sign of anything wrong that we come back right away. But I promise you that everything will be ok,'' I swore to him.
Greed stared before sighing. With a flick of a wrist, the bag was back in my arms. I gratefully met Greed's plum eyes. I smiled kindly. ''Thank you,'' I said. He rolled his eyes. ''Don't thank me, the idiot Prince told me to trust you,'' a ghost of a smile crossed Greed's lips. I smiled, quickly hugging Greed and Ling at the same time. ''Well thank you both,'' I smiled. Greed stood in shock. He then returned the embrace slowly.
We separated and I continued packing the necessities. Greed simply watched, still questioning whether he had made the right choice. His eyes traced my pregnant belly and the happy spark that was returned to my golden eyes. The tiniest of smiles graced his features. He nodded to himself, knowing deep down that this had to be done. He sighed.
''Envy's gonna kill me.''
~*~*~*~*~Special OVA- ''Leah's Pregnancy'' ~*~*~*~*~
I sat up, tugging on my jeans. I blinked when they wouldn't go all the way. I glanced down to see my big belly blocking my jeans.
''Oh, right. I'm pregnant,'' I sighed.
I sat on the bed on my back and tried to yank the stubborn pants on. I huffed when I nearly got them on but they slipped from my grip and fell back down to my thighs.
''Oof! You just love making mommy look stupid, don't you?'' I pouted childishly at my swollen stomach. The baby kicked twice, as if to mock me. I scoffed and tried pulling the jeans back up. I grinned when I managed to tug them on and button them quickly.
''YES!'' I cheered, raising my arms up to cheer. BOING! The button from my jeans snapped off, whizzing across the room like a bullet. I sighed as my pants fell to the floor.
After changing into sweat pants I felt a sudden craving. I hurriedly searched the contents of my fridge. There was a jar of pickles and a tub of rocky road ice cream. My eyes lit up.
''Leah? We bought more- WHAT THE HELL?''
Ed's voice made me look up. I sighed. The room was a wreck, my couch ripped in half as feathers flew all over the place. I had chocolate all over my face and a pickle in my hand.
''Being pregnant is scary, don't ever try it,'' I blinked at my two brothers.
''Uh I don't think we could even if we wanted to, Leah,'' Al blinked, partially afraid.
''Dumbass,'' Ed rolled his eyes.
I the proceeded to cry hysterically, throwing my head back onto one half of the shredded couch. ''Why are you mean to me?!'' I whimpered. Ed blinked. He then held out an object that made me gasp.
''I-I love you!'' I beamed, tackling them into a hug, carefully shifting my tummy so it wouldn't be harmed.
They had bought me a larger sized pair of jeans.
