A/N: Hey there, everyone! Here's a little something to ring in the New Year with. As always, italics are either flashbacks or thoughts. Also, I don't own Bleach... but I do miss it... severely.

She couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Everyone was staring at her!

"Oh, no! I ruined everything!" she thought frantically as she slammed the door behind her. She could still feel her cheeks burning with embarrassment over what she had done.

Everyone went silent. The blow horns stopped; the balloons seemed to freeze in mid air. All eyes were forcused on the bright haired couple kissing in the center of the room.

She wasn't quite sure how it happened. One second they were all counting down, and then they were all cheering, and she was standing next to Kurosaki-kun and she remembered that it's a tradition to have a New Year's kiss and the next thing she knew, she had grabbed him by the collar and kissed him!

In front of all their friends.

And his family.

When she pulled away, she couldn't decide who was more embarrassed. She had never seen his face so red.

Taking a look around, she noticed his wasn't the only one. Not being able to bear the humiliation of what she had done, she made a run for it.

So here she was, running down an empty street, at midnight.

"I'm such an idiot! How could I have let myself do that!"

"Inoue!"

It was the one voice that she so desperately was hoping she wouldn't hear.

"Inoue! Wait, please!"

She stopped running and turned to face him as he caught up to her.

"Oh, uh... Hey there, Kurosaki-kun... heh-heh, what are you doing out here so late?..." she asked, rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment. She couldn't bring herself to look in his eyes.

"... Inoue... what happened? I mean, why did-"

"Oh, that... um, that was nothing, I was just, uh..."

"You kissed me." he said.

She looked up and met his amber gaze.

"...yeah."

"Why did you do that?"

"I guess, I got a little over excited. I-I'm sorry Kurosaki-kun, I didn't mean to embarrass you like that in front of everybody."

"It's okay, I wasn't embarrased."

"But-but your face was as read as Abarai-kun's hair!" she exclaimed.

"I was just taken by surprise that's all."

"oh, okay."

"So... you only kissed me because you were caught up in the momen, huh?"

"Yes." There was something in his eyes, a flash of dissapointment that she swore wasn't there before.

"Well, let's go then." he said, grabbing her hand.

"Uh, wh-where are we going?" she stuttered, her face brightening in a red hue.

"Back to the party, everyone was wondering where you went."

Silence passed as they walked hand in hand back to the clinic.

"Thank you, Kurosaki-kun." she murmurred.
