Not Affected
Buahahaha!
I'm totally too creative, my mind is on overload. Too... Much... Ideas!
I need help.
Anyways, Kittycat4365 inspired this with the third chapter of her "Songs from the soul" series. So, thank you for that Kitty.
Disclaimer: I don't own Soul Eater! Stop mocking me Ohkubo!
She remembered that day. That exact day he had asked her out.
It wasn't as significant as the books she read or dramas Liz talked about, it was simple and straight to the point.
She was sitting on the couch, eyes moving as she read a book and Soul watching tv next to her.
He didn't know what possessed him to do so, but he did it anyways.
"Maka. Will you go out with me?"
He hadn't even looked away from the tv, nor did he even express anything on his face.
Maka watched him for awhile in the corner of her eye. He had started to squirm a little, probably anxious of her answer. "Sure." Her answer was as calm and monotone as her face.
Soul nodded. "Cool."
"Yup." She replied, eyes scanning the page before her. Though, she wasn't really reading. Even if she was calm outside, she was a giggling and squealing idiot inside.
Soul turned off the tv, got up and stretched. "I'm gonna head off to my room. Don't stay up too late." He walked away to his bedroom.
"Okay. Night." She called out.
"Night."
When the door clicked shut, Maka looked behind to make sure it was closed and he was in his room. When she found it closed and he was definitely in there, she closed her book and placed it on the table. She took a couch pillow and crushed it to her face to hide her squeals. "Oh my god! It happened!" She yelled into the pillow, feet kicking in delight.
At that exact moment, Soul had turned up his jazz to swallow up his shouts in victory as he danced around his room. "Oh yeah! She said yes! I'm definitely cool!"
The next day, they told their friends together in the calm way they had talked in yesterday.
Soul was sipping on his drink while Maka didn't take her eyes off her book and didn't touch her food.
"Maka, you should eat."
Maka opened her mouth and Soul sighed. He scooped up a bunch of her salad and put it in her mouth. She chomped on it, eyes still on her book while Soul continued this routine.
Their friends looked in shock as he did so. Usually Soul would tell her to eat and Maka would Maka Chop him then obey. Something must've happened.
Liz smirked. "Guys... What happened last night?" She asked what everyone was thinking.
The duo looked up. "We're dating." And with that, Soul continued feeding Maka.
Black Star laughed, Kid and his weapons cheered in approval, and Tsubaki smiled while congratulating them with Crona.
Though, they all wondered why they seemed so unaffected by their new relationship status.
Soul and Maka, however, were sighing in happiness. 'They took it well.'
When they came home, Soul offered something Maka wasn't really expecting.
"Hey, you wanna go on a date?" He asked with a smirk.
Maka looked at him, twiddling her fingers. "Uh... Like our first date? Because first dates are kinda cheesy..."
Soul took her hand and interlaced his fingers with hers. "Why don't we call yesterday our first date then?"
His girlfriend smiled a little. "Okay."
That was the first non-monotonous expression they showed each other. They didn't show much of that in public, nor did they often do PDA but they knew they loved each other.
Even if it seemed as if they were not affected by each other, they truly were.
Heh. I can totally imagine everything happening between them.
It's so... Realistic.
