AN: Er...hi? Sorry, sorry, I know it's been a while.

First off, let me start by saying happy late new year, and happy Black Moon (I am so happy about that). So...a lot has happened. I'm being slow. I'll get back around to normal...er...as far as schedules go anyways... Ugh, I give up.

Here, have an update!

To those who reviewed:

Dawn Elliot: Working on it!

JustSmileAndBeHappy: You're welcome!
Guest: Will do!

Tren Rogue: Alright, you are officially one of my favorites. Finally someone who suggests pairings like that! I'm working on writing on this as much as possible for now. And since I'm on snow days, might as well make the most of it, eh?

Enjoy.

After the two boys had calmed down again, the entire group got back to work, sometimes interrupted by Harry getting distracted by the falling leaves.

It took an hour of constant distractions interrupting their work for them to decide it wasn't worth the fight and fell back into just hanging out by the lake. A few moments after they stopped working, Remus spoke up. "So, I'm kind of curious about how you two are so close."

Harry shrugged, looking at the werewolf with a faint smile. "Nev is one of the best friends I could ever wish for. He was one of my first true friends when got into school, and it was just...it was a nice change. We were both so shy it was ridiculous."

Neville's eyes softened. "Though I believe you shied away from people more than I did, Harry."he pointed out. "I was just uncertain, you were outright terrified."

"For a good reason."Harry responded softly.

Remus nodded quietly.

The time that followed this was full of questions directed at the two. In fact, the questions were still rolling when the group headed to the Great Hall for dinner that evening, Harry and Neville having split the load of books and papers.

It took a while for Harry and Neville to be able to get the questions to stop, and the last one before they all stopped had made both boys stop short in shock.

Sirius, being himself, had blurted out without thinking, 'Are you two dating?'

Harry was still trying not to give Sirius a weird look for it. Nobody had ever asked that of the friends before. Remus rolled his eyes, popping Sirius upside the head before giving the two a soft smile.

"Sorry about him."he said softly. "Just ignore it."

Still, the two boys started avoiding spending a lot of time with the Marauders after that, sort of weirded out by Sirius's assumption. They spent most of their time in the library after that, or somewhere where even the boys couldn't find them.

Most recently, a random shack that they put together in the Forest. By the time that the Marauders got them back to normal again, they had finished planning and were getting started on pulling it all together.

The first dinner after things started falling together, Neville and Harry discussed how they were going to go about introductions this year, since the last time had them not knowing half the group and thus being betrayed. They weren't willing to do that again, to risk that kind of trouble.

James seemed to be noticing the slight differences in attitudes with Harry and Neville now that things were past planning. They seemed so much more serious about everything, not wanting anything to slip through the cracks. He didn't understand it, but he didn't feel the need to question them about it.

After a while of this discussion, Neville shook his head. "No, that won't work. We tried that last time."he commented.

Harry scowled at the parchment that they had been writing on, jotting random notes. He thought for a moment before he spoke. "You know what, screw this, I'm just going to wing it. We'll figure it out as we go. That's the best we can do."he commented dryly.

Naturally, after that, dinner for the group was tense. Neville didn't speak up again, and Harry seemed much more on edge about everything, making the Marauders hesitant to say something to him.

When they got back to the dorm room, Harry spoke up. "Meeting Saturday?"he asked.

Neville nodded.

"We'll have to let everyone know.."Harry mumbled. "But for now, it's time for bed."

That night had to be one of the calmest for the entire group. Harry finally slept through the night, meaning everyone else got to sleep through the night as well. It was well-appreciated.

The next several weeks were full of classes and meetings and then any spare time was spent blowing homework off for a bit and hanging out by the lake or on the Astronomy tower, which Harry had an odd facination with since he could see nearly all of the grounds.

Remus was the one who spoke up on one of these days by the lake. "You know...you never really explained your reaction to Sirius asking if you two were dating."he commented.

Neville half smiled. "Nobody's ever assumed that before."he answered. "It kind of stunned me."

Harry shrugged. "I'm not the best at reacting to things. I just...if it's something like that, I'll just shut myself off until I know what was meant by it, whether someone is trying to tease me or not."he deadpanned, glaring out at the lake as the sun reflected off it's surface.

"He's just not used to people assuming something about him without them wanting to use it to hurt him."Neville said softly, frowning at his friend.

Remus sighed. "Well, we would never."

"I know."

The tone with which Harry said this kept anyone from commenting further about it, though they were curious.

After a while, Neville spoke up. "We're not, by the way."he said, looking at the others. "We just understand each other better than most because we've gone through such similar situations. It's just an easy friendship."

This got a nod of understanding from Sirius, and the group lapsed back into silence.

Here. I need some rest now. I spent all day writing on stories. By the way, I've been thinking about it and have decided to do a poll sorta thing here, not on my profile because I hate those things.

Just tell me if you review which you prefer:

Remus/Sirius and Harry/Neville pairings or Harry/Sirius and Neville/Remus pairings.
