Koori lost all his memories regarding Kaname. It was irreversible.

A call from Dr Shou warned them of Yuki's spell; It was a double function spell. One was to trap Kaname forever in his child form and the other was that every sunset, Koori's memory of Kaname would be removed.

No matter how many memories they made, as soon as the sunset settles in, Koori would lose it all.

Not only that, if they tried to tell Koori that Kaname was his dad, he starts to lose other memories from the pressure. It could be anything. It could be about something important like Zero being his Mommy or something unimportant like what he had for dinner.

When they found out about this side effect, they stopped trying to tell Koori about his father.

After explaining what the spell did, the physician was about to tell them how to break it or at least the fundamental of the spell so Zero could make it disappear with his power but before he could say anything, the line died.

They tried calling Dr. Shou but he apparently disappeared along with Yuki. They tried tracing the call, it came from the doctor's house and there was sign of break and entry when they reached. Some witnesses said the doctor was rendered unconscious and taken away by the princess.

They lost all contact since then.

No one managed to break the spell on Kaname, and Koori was forever in the dark about his father although the man slash child was living under the same roof. Zero sometimes would lose his temper when Koori asked about his father while Kaname was just standing beside the child.

Koori could not remember who Kaname was. Even if they saw each other every day, the same question would be asked repeatedly.

"Who are you?"

And Kaname would give the same answer. "I'm Kaname, your friend."

Every single day, Koori asked the same question and every single day, his memory of Kaname is erased.

Not only that, since Kaname stopped aging ages ago, tried as hard as he may have, he could never prove to Koori that he was his dad because he looked like a kid.

However, Kaname did not give up, no one did. As a result, he collaborated with Hanabusa to find a cure. Meanwhile Ichiru was leading a search group, looking for Yuki and Dr shou since they were the only one who knew the way to break the spell.

Meanwhile Zero was doing his own research on ancient spells to figure out the structure of the spell so he could break it with his power.

In the distance future, about 7 years later.

Hanabusa came into the laboratory where a certain kid pureblood was doing some research.

"Kaname-sama, I found something fun." The blond announced as soon as he burst into the room. Apparatus rattled under the impact of the door slammed into the wall and Kaname glared. That was some important and precious research material. Hanabusa had better not do anything stupid to it.

"What is it this time, Hanabusa?" He asked tiredly. Don't misunderstand, Hanabusa is a genius at work and Kaname rather had him as a partner to find a cure for his body. It is just that the blond is too hyper with his stupid ideas. The last time he listened to him, Zero ended up hating his guts for 3 months and Koori gained yet another phobia.

"Look, look." He said excitedly, holding up something pentagon.

The pureblood gave it an uninterested glance before going back burying his nose in the book of spells he was reading earlier.

"De...?" Kaname asked.

There was a pregnant silent before Hanabusa titled his head to the side, looking stupid.

'Ga-kku?'

A vein popped on his temple as Kaname snatched the object from the noble's grasp before throwing it over his shoulder. "What does it do?" He asked irritatingly again.

Hanabusa quickly caught it and breathed out a relief sigh. "Ah~" he whined. "Kaname-sama, don't throw it like that. It's an important object." The pureblood gave him the-oh-really-look. "This thing can send people to the past... or another dimension." He made a face as if losing confidence."… or something like that. At least the rumour said s..o..."

"Which is it?" That uninterested look was plastered once again on his face.

Again, there was an awkward silence. Hanabusa sweat dropped. "Anyway! It'll be a great birthday present for Koori." He beamed as if he had just gave the most brilliant idea.

However, the pureblood flatly rejected the suggestion. "No."

"Eh, why?!" He whined like a three years old kid.

Closing his book with a loud thud, Kaname turned fully facing the blond indicating that he had enough of the noble's nonsense. They should be working rather than having this half-baked talk.

"First of all, it may be dangerous since you don't even know what it does. Secondly, I only have one child. I don't want to lose him."

"It's not dangerous." He lied. The object had in fact caused a lot of death but the victims were all humans. Koori was not fragile like them. "It will only send him to another time. You can play with him to the utmost in the past because Yuki's spell won't work there."

The word play perked the pureblood's interest.

"Play..." He mumbled as his face softened.

Hanabusa saw it and he knew he succeed baiting the pureblood. "Yeah, you could. You can spend time with him, deepened your relationship, makes memory, hug, and cuddle spoiling him rotten." He lured. "Besides I'm sure your past self could never resist Koori's charm." He added more as an assurance.

Kaname's face was gaining light. He seemed interested. Taking the pentagon object in his hand, "This thing can?" He asked as he examined it. He did not feel anything malicious from the device.

"Yes, of course." Aido ended it with a business smile, knowing that he managed to hook the pureblood into agreeing with his crazy idea. Well he did think it will work. Ichiru managed to introduce a picture of Kaname-sama to Koori without the child ever forgetting it though to do so Ichiru had to add many lies to the story.

Seeing that it worked, Hanabusa saw a little loophole in the spell. He thought that maybe using another channel of medium could make the memory of Kaname-sama to stay in Koori's head and not be erased. Plus, if Koori played it right, he may cause a change in the past with that spell Zero used on Kaname-sama and all who were involved in the true past. Maybe Koori could also prevent the spell Yuki put on Kaname-sama.

Gaining color to his cheeks, Kaname-sama held the device close to his chest. "I'll be taking it then. Thank you, Hanabusa." He said.

Hanabusa beamed and left the happy child looking pureblood alone.

Knowing that he was left alone, a smile crept up his lips. "With this I can spend more time with Koori..." He whispered. "… and this time, he would be remembering me."

Zero put away another failure of a spell book. It had been long time since his last break down and Zero was getting tired with Yuki's interference in his life.

He thought of giving her a chance by doing nothing and running away from her lately but it had been the case long enough.

She is turning into a annoying pest in his life.

He was only letting her go because he believed she would eventually go back to the sweet Yuki she was, but she kept on disappointing him thus proving him wrong by becoming worse as time goes on.

He cannot deny that he was also avoiding any conflict with her out of guilt and fear.

Zero figured that his actions won't help her change her way of life for the better. Nonetheless, even if the one who could calm her wrath and settle things were Kaname, Zero would put up hell before giving the man away.

He already gave away too much and it is affecting people around him. Zero knew that it was better to put a stop to his cowardly way of running away.

He was becoming pathetic. It was the worst, and he was starting to hate himself, badly.

He should have confronted her a long time ago. This conflict have been going on for over 20 years. It is tiring, and with their long life span, it is not enjoyable at all.

"Zero, I'm back." Kaname called at the entrance.

Hearing his mate had arrived; Zero stopped his train of thoughts and left the basement. He really did not want to worry Kaname over his revenge.

Wait! Is it a revenge? That is not correct. It is not revenge. It is more like to putting a stop to something going wrong for a long time. Yes, it can be considered as righting what is wrong, redemption, correction an old mistake maybe.

"Welcome back," he said before hugging the child by the door. Chemical and anesthetic smell assaulted his sense. He was at the lab again, it seemed. Kaname thought if spells do not work, he could rely on science instead.

Unfortunately, they still haven't got any more lucky in that aspect as well. Hanabusa even suggested some time ago that they built a time machine and change the past.

That would take a long time to build... Anyway, something like that had already existed though it was not completed and the device was stolen not long ago.

"Any luck today?" He asked but the child just shook his head. He then yawned. "Is Koori here yet?"

The silverette saw the yawn. Ever since Kaname was turned into a child, his body system changed too. He had fixed bed times, he did not need blood to quench his thirst and he had no sex drive.

Also since he's a child, he act like one which he later dig a hole and hid in it. It embarrassed him that he had little self-control and acted more spoiled than Koori who had already grown into a teenager, the kid was less spoiled and since he was technically older than Kaname, Koori acted like an older brother towards his father.

Kaname was not amused by the fact that Koori spoiled him. Although He enjoyed the attention, it still hurt him that Koori didn't remember him as a father.

"Koori lost his ticket so he'll be here tomorrow after buying another one."

"How did he lose it?"

"Laundry."

They sweat dropped. Upon entering their room, Kaname quickly climbed up the bed and laid his head on the pillow.

"How about bath?"

"Too tired. Need sleep..." Kaname mumbled seconds before he was out cold.

His even breathe was the only calm moment he had before he tucked the pureblood in bed, kiss his temple and left the house wearing a coat with Bloody Rose by his hip. On his way out, he casted a protection charm around the house.

The whole night he was gone, no one knew where he went and what he did. However, when he was back home around dawn, a peaceful expression showed on his face as if a huge burden was lifted. Zero kept quiet the whole day until Koori arrived.

Little did anyone know the truth about the vanishing of certain pureblood princess and the return of certain doctor in the neighborhood.

omake (unbeta)

He found her finally. After almost 7 years missing, Zero found her. He found her and he didn't tell anyone.

Even Yuki was surprised when he ambushed her the next night.

A dagger was in her chest before she could even sense his presence.

"I finally found you, Yuki~" was all the warning Yuki got before a flash of silver fell on her and stabbed her in the heart. At least he wanted to, but that would be too easy.

Blood pooled in her mouth and trachea causing her to cough it out.

Lilac orbs glinted dangerously as he saw blood tainting the Vampire princess's pale complexion.

Brown eyes narrowed into a glare as she spitted out the name of her attacker.

"Zero." She gritted her teeth as her fang grew. "Get off of me, E!"

"Gladly." The silverette hunter complied as he pulled the dagger out of the princess's chest.

'CRACK' a rib was cracked accidentally in the process. Yuki gasped as more blood spurted out. Zero stepped away to give her space to recover. Looking at her, Zero was somehow indifferent.

"Does it hurt?" he asked out of wimp.

It set Yuki off. She narrowed her eyes at him. "You fucking know it does!" She growled, getting up when her injury wasn't even fully healed. For pureblood, injury obtained from anti-vampire weapon took a long time to heal after all.

'Drip, drip'

Even when she stood up, blood was gushing out of the hole in her chest.

"You look terrible, Yuki."

"Damn it, of course I am!" She flicked her long hair behind when it was in the way of her vision. Her free hand then clenched at her wound, pressing it to stop the bleeding. Yuki was wheezing in pain but he tried not to dwell in it much. "De, what are you here for? Revenge? A little too late, don't you think?"

Whirling the danger in his hand, Zero wiped it clean. "I supposed that was what I am aiming…" he then checked his gun, closing one of his eyes as he did so. He seemed at ease considering their situation. "But…" He put his gun away and held his hand up, producing a katana. He inspected the sharpness of the blade. "It won't be much of a match with you."

The katana made a sharp sound when it was slashed in the air.

"Sharp katana, you got there. Why not use your gun?" she provoked, though she could get in a big problem if Zero was to use Bloody Rose on her.

Zero looked at her with a deadpan expression. "But then it would end quickly."

A shiver ran down her spine. That aura, Zero was seriously thinking of killing her and he's not going to make it a quick and clean kill too. If anything it's the contrary. This is bad. 'I don't want to die, not on his hand at least.'

Yuki summoned her scythe and got in fighting pose immediately. Her eyes were sharp, watching the silverette. If Zero was going to kill her, she should too have the same intention. Because if she doesn't, this will be an easy kill and the one who would come out of this alive and unscatter is Zero.

"He." He laughed, getting into it before disappearing out of her side.

Yuki's eyes narrowed, focusing her vampire sight, only to be surprised when Zero appeared in front of her, wielding the katana from below. Yuki jumped out of the way but she was too late and her stomach got slashed.

She winced, running into the forest.

'SPLURTED, SPLAT'

Yuki glanced down. There was a big open wound on the abdomen. Zero almost cut her clean into half. And shit! She's bleeding again and it was not stopping.

"Anti-vampire katana…" she hissed, ripping her dress so she could tie her abdomen. She could even see her intestine. It would be bad if it got out, hanging out.

'THUNK'

A dagger struck her head. She douched it by a hair though and it hit the tree instead. Her hair was cut in the process. A vein popped up. Her precious hair, she whined inwardly.

Suddenly, Zero appeared out of nowhere, his silver hair was really glowing in the dead night. Yuki snapped her eyes at him. Gripping her scythe hard, she dashed forward, bringing it down on the silverette. Zero swung his katana in respond. It clashed, creating spark.

Yuki tsked. She swung her scythe on the hunter again and again but the hunter would block it easily. Not only that, he even managed to nick her. Zero was faster than her. She had cuts all over her body now, even her face.

'Drip, drip, drip.'

She was getting exhausted, her legs trembling. Using her vampire's power as a desperate resort, she blasted Zero away. He was thrown back a few meters but like a cat, he agilely whirled his body in air and safely landed on the ground. Yuki took that moment of confusion to take a breather. She was losing conscious.

Blood, she needs blood!

Her eyes flashed red as her eyes locked on Zero. Her instinct quickly took over as her fangs grew. Blood, fresh blood. She growled at Zero before jumping at him. They fell on the ground together, scuffling with Yuki on top of the hunter as the latter bared her fangs, trying to bite the former.

Not having that, with his katana, Zero blocked her fangs from coming closer to him. However with the blade in between her fangs, it was cutting the side of her mouth as she pushed forward. She was not relenting wanting to suck Zero dried though, even if the blade was hurting her.

Zero tried pushing her off but she won't budge. She suddenly got stronger and using her vampire power properly. Zero tsked then kneed the pureblood in the gut, right into her wound earlier. It sent her reeling, rolling with her guts spilling out. Zero rolled over, getting up on his feet. Yuki did too.

They stared at each other before Yuki gut herself, pulling her intestine and tossing it to the side like it was not important since it was getting in her way. Well, vampire usually did not need that organ anyway. Her claws then grew longer and sharp before she let a battle roar out and leaped at him.

Silver mane dripping with blood, Zero stared down at the messed up body by his feet. It couldn't be described as a body anymore. It was a lump of meats swimming in blood.

He was exhausted. The fight went on for such a long time, he was breathing shallowly. Yuki managed to get him. A large cut ran across his right arms. However that was the only harm she had caused him. He did Yuki in pretty hard too. Her body was mushy now. Her head was however still intact with her heart. It was still beating. Yuki wasn't dead yet. She's half dead. He could leave her like this and she could take half a painful century to get back to normal but he was not there for that.

Bringing out his Bloody Rose, he pulled the safety off. Cold lilac orbs stared down at the beating organs. Aiming his weapon at her, he pulled the trigger without hesitation.

'Bang, bang, bang.'

Were heard in the quiet night before a flock of small, round light dispersed into the sky.
