~December 22, 2012~

Dean stood in the doorway at Bobby's house with a cup of coffee in hand, watching the snow fall. He and Sam had been terrified of December 21. They'd all hunkered down in Bobby's panic room, and when Dean ventured out the next morning to find that nothing had happened, they all had a good laugh and came upstairs to make breakfast.

"You all right, Dean?"

Dean turned away from the door to find Sam behind him, a worried expression on his face.

"Yeah, I was just thinking."

"About the end of the world?"

"A little."

"We're all still here. You've got nothing to worry about."

"I know—" Dean was cut off by a snowball to the face. "What the hell?" He looked around the room, and didn't see anyone. He glared at Sam.

"It wasn't me, dude."

Another snowball came flying, and hit Sam this time. Again the boys looked around the room, and saw no one.

"Okay, what's going on?" Sam said, wiping snow from his face with his shirtsleeve. Realization washed over him. He silently nodded his head in the direction of the front door. Dean eased it open, and Sam picked up a fistful of snow. Dean followed. They stood at the ready in the breezeway. They were ready when Cas reappeared. They threw snowballs at him, and one got Cas in the face.

Stunned, Castiel stood for a moment in Bobby's breezeway, snow melting in his vessel's hand.

"You're not as fast as you think, Cas," Dean said, grinning.

Cas snapped his fingers, and instantly the three of them were outside in the snow. Feeling the cold snow on his bare feet, Dean took off for the house, only to be taken down by a giant snowball. He fell face first into the snow. Sam laughed hysterically from the porch. He'd made it past Cas and gotten to the house to grab his boots. He was silenced by another snowball, square in the face.

"Oh, it's on, Cas!" he jumped from the porch, dodging Dean as he bolted up the steps and into the house. He grabbed a fistful of snow in both hands and launched snowballs at Castiel.

Dean and Bobby watched them from the doorway. Dean was wrapped in three fleece blankets, shivering.

"You boys ought to learn not to mess with an Angel," Bobby said.

"He started it…"

"What are you, seven?"

Dean smiled as he watched Cas pelt Sam with a couple of snowballs.

"We all are, just for today."
