A Little Piece of Perfect
Author's Note: I thought of this after watching Breaking Dawn Part 2 and thought it would be a cute story. Please review if you would like!
Esme's POV: I walked down the hall tracking his scent already being fully aware he was in his office. After the Volturi left we all went back to normal, or as normal as possible. Kate and Tanya were still grieving their sister because as Vampires we do not forget easily. Alice had told us all about her vision. I was shocked to say the least. If Carlisle had really died I would not have been able to continue. But I know he's still alive and well as I enter his office. He looks up from another one of his big books and smiles at me. I walk over to him and sit on his lap shutting the book. He kisses my forehead and I am instantly filled with happiness.
"Hello darling, what brings you up here?" he says as he gives me another kiss on my forehead.
Well, it's a beautiful day outside, you have the day off, and your sitting up here reading a book when we could do something fun!" I reply with a kiss on his nose.
" Well what would you like to do darling? He looks at me pondering
"Let's go for a walk to our favorite place." I said with a knowing smile.
He scoops me up in his arms and takes me to our closet.
" Get dressed and we will go," he said as he walked out of the door
I slipped on my new lavender sundress from Port Angeles and the necklace Carlisle had given to me as a present last year. I ran downstairs to find were my husband had gone. I found him standing at the kitchen island.
" Guess who?" I say putting my hands around his eyes to keep him from peeking.
"You look stunning Esme, " he says turning around. He grabs my hand and we walk out the back door into the woods. I can't remember the last time we had gone out to frolic in the woods. We ran to our favorite spot and let the warm sun envelope us. At last we got to the secluded hill canopied by small trees. Carlisle sat down on a patch of grass in the sun and pulled me onto his lap. He pulled my favorite book out of his jacket pocket and began to read to me. It was a movie made scene. The warmth of the sun that glistened on our skin, being held so lovingly by the one I loved, and listening to the sounds of spring. It was beautiful, the birds chirping and flowers blooming. I tuned into Carlisle's melodic voice and let it overtake my thoughts. I slipped into his embrace and couldn't help but think I had a little piece of perfect.
