I just wanted to apologize for a couple of things.
1) How long it took me to get this chapter out and
2) How short it is, but I can explain.

Jay and I have been visiting each other because we practically live 2 hours away from each other, and I went down for a little bit to go see her. I didn't take my laptop with me because it's ancient and always needs to be plugged into a wall so that I can use it. I know, I know, I need a new one.

Second, today, there was a shooting at a high school that is right by where Jay lives. Luckily, so far, besides the shooter, no one was killed. Two were injured, one is undergoing surgery. This hits really close to home because this is the sixth major shooting in Colorado, and the fifth shooting to take place in a school setting.

And third, my meetings with my doctor have been really vigorous. You have to do a lot to get over addictions without having to stay in the rehabilitation centers. So, that's happening to.

Nonetheless, I got this chapter out. It kind of sucks (in my opinion), but I feel like I owe it to you guys.

"You were the reason I lost one of my best friends."

Brittany didn't really know what to say to Quinn. She truly didn't know that her being stubborn would cause everyone pain. She knew she had hurt Santana, but never thought she had hurt Quinn as well.

"I know nothing I say will make what I did right. I'm sorry that I was the reason Santana stopped talking to you, though. I honestly didn't think she would do that. If anything, I expected her to run to you for help." Brittany says full of remorse.

"I can't blame you for that, I really can't. I was just hurt. Santana made her decision and yes, while it had to do with you, I know you didn't mean for it to bite me in the ass as well." Quinn sighs. "I'm just glad you're here now."

"Are you going to tell her you guys are here?" Brittany asks.

"Actually, yeah. I was wondering if you two wanted to go out for dinner after practice? You can say no, but I really miss her. And I kind of knew you were back, Karofsky told me that you'd be at practice today. I was going to talk to you about it anyway." Quinn admits.

"Of course, we'll go to dinner with you. It'd be nice to surprise her. I'll text her now and ask." Brittany smiles and Quinn nods. As Brittany pulls out her phone, she realizes Santana may be a little skeptical about the four of them just going to dinner. It's like when you date someone and then you break up. You wouldn't be able to hold yourself together with a couple of people and said ex in the same room; as you would with more people. She didn't want to put the spotlight on Santana, and Brittany still thought that (after what Quinn had told her) she may need more time to see Quinn with less people. "Do you think we should invite more people, first?"

Brittany thinks Quinn's thinking caught up because almost immediately, she nods. "Good idea, Brittany. I think it'd be best. The wounds are fresh, still. I don't want it to be awkward. Who were you thinking of?"

"You can meet Santana's lab partner, she's all right. Uhm, would it be cool if we invite Logan? And maybe his sister and her girlfriend? That way everyone will have someone to talk to, AND there's enough people that it won't get awkward." Brittany suggests.

"Brilliant idea. I'll let Rachel know." Quinn replies with a smile.

"PLEASE TELL HER I'M BACK BEFORE SHE SLAPS ME, TOO!" Brittany exclaims with a small chuckle. She types out a quick text to Santana asking if Marley and she would want to go out with some friends and maybe get dinner. She failed to mention that Quinn was going, but she wanted it to be a surprise. After she's done sending the message, the two blondes are walking back into the locker room to get ready for practice.

XXXXXXX

Practice was pretty rough, but that's to be expected. College soccer and high school soccer were almost nothing alike. There were a lot more suicide drills and conditioning that Coast Bieste had put them through and a lot more hands on training. Needless to say, Brittany was better than the center striker they had filling in for her while she was away, but that didn't stop the coaches from giving her a hard time. She couldn't blame them, she missed the first two months of practice, after all. She expected them to be hard on her; especially with a game coming up over the weekend.

During practice, Quinn and Brittany had asked Logan if he would like to join them for dinner and that Frankie and her girlfriend were more than welcome. He agreed that he would go and that he would ask his sister when he was on his way back to the dorms. Quinn just nodded and told him to meet her at her dorm and she'd drive them, while Brittany brought Santana and Marley.

Quinn and Brittany decided to meet up at a close by restaurant called Nine Thirty at 8:15ish. With that, the two girls parted ways and Brittany made her way back to her dorm room.

Upon arrival, she enters her dorm to find Santana and Marley sitting extremely close on the futon, looking at something on Santana's phone. The door shuts harshly behind her and she ignores all thoughts of jealousy as she sets her bag down on her bed. The two girls hadn't really looked up, but Santana's eyes met Brittany's over the phone for a split second and the Latina smiles, as if to say 'Hey'.

"I'm going to shower real quick, and then we'll go, okay?" Brittany asks quickly.

"That's fine, B." Santana replies. "Who all is going?"

"Just Logan, his sister, her girlfriend, and the assistant soccer coach." Brittany says nonchalantly.

The Latina just nods and go backs to whatever she was watching on the phone. Brittany sighs deeply as she enters the bathroom and gets ready to shower.

Once showered, she exits the bathroom in skinny jeans, a low-cut v-neck, and a tight leather jacket. Santana and Marley are still watching something on Santana's phone, so they don't know realize Brittany is in the room until they hear her clear her throat.

Marley looks around first and smiles at the blonde. "You look really nice, Brittany." Marley compliments which makes Santana turn around a few seconds after, eyes widening as she stares.

"Thanks, Marley. Are you guys ready to go?" Brittany asks simply and the two girls nod, finally getting up off of the couch and joins Brittany at the dorm door. They leave the dorm and head outside to get into Santana's Jeep.

Brittany doesn't bother asking Santana if she wanted to drive because she knew that she would wrapped up in some conversation with Marley the entire way, and Brittany was just super excited to see Logan, Quinn, and Rachel.

By the time the three of them had gotten to the restaurant, she had received a text from Quinn telling them where they would be sitting. Brittany smiles widely at the text and this doesn't go unnoticed by Santana.

"Whatcha smiling at?" Santana presses.

"Just Logan. He texted me to let me know he's gotten a table already." Brittany shrugs.

"Oh." Santana deadpans before continuing to look ahead.

They enter the restaurant and Brittany instantly notices Logan, who is sitting there with Frankie and Lara, but Quinn and Rachel are nowhere to be seen. Brittany raises an eyebrow as she sits next to her friend, Santana sitting on her left.

"Where are they?" Brittany whispers closely into Logan's ear.

"Give them two seconds, they're watching." Logan smiles back at Brittany and looks over his menu.

Brittany does the same and looks over to Santana who is happily chatting away with Marley. She rolls her eyes as she sees Quinn and Rachel step from around the corner. They're completely out of the Latina's sight, and for that, they are thankful.

Quinn walks up first and stands behind Santana, a smirk playing on her face.

She clears her throat, causing the Latina to jump before she speaks. "Well, well, well. If it isn't THE Santana Lopez. You know, last I heard, you fell off the face of the Earth." Her tone is filled with sarcasm, but you could most definitely tell that the hurt and betrayal was still present.

"Qu… Quinn?" Santana stutters as she turns around to be faced with the shorter blonde. "What are you doing here?"

"Going to UCLA. I'm the Assistant Coach of Brittany's soccer team."

Santana gulps loudly as she instantly stands up to throw her arms around her old best friend. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry that I shut you out," Santana repeats over and over again in a soft voice.

"You're forgiven. Now, let's get everyone introduced, shall we?"

"Frankie, Lara, Logan; this is Santana and her lab partner Marley." Quinn says pointing to all of the respective people. Just then, Rachel walks up to the table and sits down, smiling her wide ass smile. "And this is my girlfriend, Rachel."

"THE HOBBIT'S HERE, TOO!?" Santana all but exclaims, causing Brittany and Marley to burst out chuckling.

"Yes, I am Santana. And while I would really appreciate it if you would stop calling me names based off of my small stature, it's good to see you, too." Rachel smiles before she raises her menu to her eyes, skimming her options.

Quinn finally gets a chance to sit down, across from Santana, and she lets out a sigh of relief. This had gone a lot better than she imagined it would. She figured it would be somewhere along the lines of the Latina spewing Spanish profanities and making Quinn feel bad for not mentioning that she was in Los Angeles.

On the other side of table, Brittany is sitting there having light conversation with Logan when she feels a hand on her leg and in a soft whisper she hears, "Thank you," coming from her girlfriend's lips. Brittany smiles, as she grabs the Latina's hand and pulls her closer, Santana resting her chin on Brittany's shoulder.

"You're welcome, San." Brittany says, slightly turning her head to look at Santana. Santana leans forward and presses a small kiss to Brittany's lips.

"It means a lot to me, that you'd plan this."

"Well, Santana…" Brittany starts, "I'm trying to make up for lost time."

I know it's short. I'm sorry. :(
