The Shadow of Shinigami:

Sean walked down the hallway and into the "workshop", as it was now being called. Shortly after the defeat of Lord Zedd, Tommy and Deion started working on the GokaiGalleonBuster. Tommy was the most technically proficient member of the team, and Deion wanted to help out, since GokaiGreen made it on the show.

Knocking on the door a few times, Sean walked in.

"How's it coming?" he asked. Tommy was welding, what exactly he was welding wasn't obvious due to the light from the weld and Tommy's body blocking the view. Deion looked up from the laptop he was reading.

"Well, the show didn't exactly give a set of instructions so at this point its more trial and error." Deion said, typing a bit. "We're getting there. But we need to take our time."

Tommy finished his welds and writes something down.

"Given how much power we're gonna be putting through these things we need to make sure we aren't just making a giant bomb to blow up in our faces." The blue ranger said as he began to sand down the welds to smooth it out.

"Makes sense. Well, lunch should be ready in about 10 minutes." Sean told them.

"Good timing. We need a break anyway." Tommy said.

The crew assembled in the main room and sat down for lunch. They were about to dig in when the sensor alarms went off. Everyone sat there for a moment, trying to decide if they could grab a few bites to eat first before reluctantly getting up and moving away from the freshly made food.

Daisy got to the console first.

"Something's going on downtown." She said.

"That's specific." Rachel replied.

"Sorry, but I'm getting a really weird signal. It seems like only one enemy, but the signal is oddly diffused. Like it's not all there." She explained.

"We'll have to stay on our toes. Who knows what Delta has planned this time." Kyle said as he took out his moribites.

The gokaiger arrived at the area the signal originated from, looking around.

"Anyone see anything out of the ordinary?" Tommy asked.

"Not…wait, over there!" Crystal said running over to some shops.

People were lying on the ground, unconscious.

"What did this to them?" Deion asked.

"Whatever it was has to be-" Kyle started to speak when Rachel pushed him and Tommy all of a sudden.

The others spun to ask her what was the matter when she pitched forward and changed back to normal, slumping to the ground. Then they saw what was behind her.

The creature was a tall bipedal lizard creature with pastel purple skin, with a gaping hole in its chest. The fingers were clawed, but there was a clear sign of opposable thumbs as well, with patches of bone-like scales on the arms and legs, along with white spikes running along the top of the tail and up its back. Covering its head is a white mask looking like a dragon's head, with circular holes in the cheeks, and jagged, almost fractured horns on top. The most intriguing feature was the mechanical looking attachment on its chest that surrounded the hole, but left it exposed, with tubes and wired wrapping around the torso to form some kind of vest, and the tubes connected to the back of its head.

"Holy shit! That's a Hallow!" Sean exclaimed.

"What did you do to Rachel!?" Crystal asked, grabbing her weapons.

The Hallow chuckled and struck the building next to it, sending debris at them. Deion covers Rachel's unconscious body with his own as the others took off after it.

The Hallow ran down the alley. Jumping over a fence it rolled a bit over the wall to get past the top of the fence, kicking off the wall once it twisted enough and jumping onto the opposing roof. Kyle and Sean spun and braced themselves, propelling Daisy and Crystal into the air. The two flipped and landed on the roof and took off. Tommy shot the fence and slammed into it himself. The three male rangers took off, following on the ground.

After several dozen feet the Hallow leapt off the roof, spinning in mid-air and digging a claw into the ground to help him spin around and leapt back to the girls, tackling them into the wall.

Before it could follow up on the attack, the male rangers arrived, firing their guns, forcing it on the defensive. It spun and twisted to avoid being shot before charging at them, slipping and sliding around, constantly moving around as it blocked sword strikes.

Crystal slid over, Daisy kicking off her back attempting a flying slash. The Hallow parried the attack and rolled over next to Crystal. With its claws, it struck the ground next to her. Then it ripped her shadow off the ground and stuffed it under its mask. Crystal collapsed in a lump, just like Rachel had.

"Crystal!" Tommy yelled. The Hallow laughed and ran off, evading their attempts to follow it.

After meeting back up with Deion they brought Crystal and Rachel back to the galleon.

"So, that Hollow ate their Shadows. That's what happened to the people we found." Kyle said, sitting in his hair.

"That Hollow, it was different from the ones we fought in Soul Society." Tommy recalled.

"I've encountered a lot of them before, but stealing and eating shadows is new. Not to mention that tech it had on its torso." Sean told them.

"it must have gotten here via a tear, and Delta captured it. Probably when we went to Angel Grove." Daisy suggested.

"Sean, you're the expert. What's the play?" Deion asked.

"Simple. The mask. We break that and defeat it." The black ranger told them.

"Then that's our plan. We'll distract it, and when you have the chance hit it." Kyle said standing up.

"And just in time, found the signal again." Tommy said from the console. "It's hard to find but I got lucky."

"Ok then boys and girl. Let's spoil his dinner like he spoiled our lunch."

The Hollow, Shadowswipe, laughed as it had another shadow. It might now have come to this place by choice but there were no stupid dress wearing soul reapers to stop it.

Gokai Change: J.A.K.Q.

But it did have some weird guys in neon suits. He thought they were neon. Then again whatever that strange woman did messed with his eyes. Still, he could see Shadows and that was all that matters.

Sean watched as the team fought using the second Sentai, the creatures unusually fluid movements giving them problem.

They attempted the J.A.K.Q. hurricane, but it slipped out and struck them all. However Deion landed on the ground and didn't get up, demorphing back to normal.

"You son of bitch!" tommy said, confirming Sean's fear that Deion lost his shadow. The three snatched up new ranger keys.

Gokai Change: Kyoryuger

Changing into KyoryuRed, Blue and Pink, the three rushed him. Matching the samba techniques of the dino sentai against the Hollow seemed to work, but he was just a bit more flexible, bending around to avoid an attack and taking tommy down.

Sean's grip tightened on his gun, not having a good enough shot and not wanting to give away his position.

Shinkenger

Kyle and Daisy both change into ShinkenRed, using the Rekka Diazanto's to fight. However the large weapons weren't that useful after all, as the Hollow dodged a swipe by Daisy by jumping onto the sword and leaping at Kyle, who raised his own sword in defense. The Hollow landed on the sword and used the red Sentai's body weight as a counter balance and leapt off, striking daisy, who goes down.

Gorenger

Kyle changes into Akarenger and engages the creature again. He pulled out the Red Bute and managed to use it to restrain the Hollow.

"SEAN NOW!" Kyle yelled, doing everything he could to hold it still.

Sean slammed the keylock on his gokaigun closed and pointed it at the Hollow's face.

"Take this you asshole! Gokai Blast!

Sean fired, the blast hitting head on and making an explosion. After a moment the dust cleared and GokaiRed walked out, holding his shoulder. He looked up at Sean and gave him the thumbs up, which the younger ranger returned.

Then he fells over.

Sean could hardly believe as the rest of the dust cleared as he saw the hollow finish eating Kyle's shadow. There wasn't a scratch on the mask at all. The Hollow yelled at him before ducking in the store behind him and smashing through the other side.

Sean dropped his gun in disbelief. His team had all been taken down, and he had failed them.

Sean managed to get his team back on the Galleon. He ran his hand through his hair as he walked in circles, trying desperately to think of an idea. His best shot had hit head on and did nothing. What else could he do? The GalleonBuster might have worked, but it's not close to working. And he couldn't think of a key that would be useful. Sean flipped the table over with a yell, causing all the plates and food to crash onto the floor. Sean dropped onto the couch. He had to do something. By their estimations there were only a few hours left to defeat the hollow before the shadows were lost forever.

Eventually, all the stress caused Sean to pass out.

Sean sat up, finding himself in a white void.

"Been a while since I've been here." He said to himself, walking around. "Hello? If no one's here then get me out because i have shit to do!"

"Do I really sound that grouchy when I'm aggravated?" He heard his own voice coming from behind him.

"You'd be grouchy to if you just watched a modified Hollow eat your friends shadows and you couldn't do anything about it." AC Sean turned to face his counterpart. "Where the hell have you been?"

"What do you mean, where have I-oh crap." Sean face palmed as he concluded. "I had a feeling that this was the case, but I didn't know how bad it would get. Multiversal temporal displacement, our main job is to re-sync each universe we go to so that a day in one universe isn't like 3 months in another."

He started going off on a personal ramble before coming back to the main thing that AC Sean said, making him do a double take.

"Wait... did you say a modified HOLLOW?! As in "negative evil spirit from the Bleach universe" Hollow?"

"Yep. Large, Ugly, supernatural, only way to stop it is to break the white mask. Knew I'd seen them somewhere before. Apparently while we were gone, long story, it somehow managed to find its way to our universe. DeltaVron captured it and modified it."

"How in the hell did it get there? You know what, that's not important right now. What IS important is figuring out how to stop it." Sean crossed his arms and sat on the ground cross-legged. "Obviously the modification was for the shadow stealing, unless it was more of a unique ability to that particular one and Delta just enhanced it. You can never tell with those things."

Looking up at his split self, he raised an eyebrow.

"A couple questions. Firstly, was it like big and monstrous, or was it more of a human size and shape?"

"About 10 or so feet. Big and Bulky but quick on its feet. And i think it knows parkour. Possibly break-dance. And no, I'm not adding levity i honestly think it knows how to do those. It had a very unique movement. " AC Sean lays down on the ground and lets out a long sigh.

"Okay, so I think it's safe to say that she didn't get her hands on an Adjuchas-class Gillian. Probably a more common Hollow, which is good as far as power scaling goes. But still bad if she enhanced it." Sean scratched his chin in thought. "And my second question is-"

"Why he didn't use the Fira Mode key, getting temporary use of his Bankai back, right?" The familiar feminine voice of Fira echoed throughout the dreamscape before she faded into view, bringing a bright splash of red, tan, and gold into the otherwise bleak void.

"Yeah, that." Fira shook her head at her master's response.

"Even though I'm giving a fraction of my power to well... you, it's not as easy as you might think. Between the temporal displacement and the fact that he's much weaker than you are, the key is having a tough time reaching him, both physically and spiritually."

"I almost forgot about that thing. Been like 5 months since then." AC sean said annoyed.

"Yeah, this is DEFINITELY a lot worse than I thought the displacement originally was." Sean sighed

"Tears in the world are becoming more frequent as well. We just crossed twice in a month."

"And until you two... I dunno, fuse back together? However it works, you won't be able to fix the world you're in. At least, not temporally. From what you told us, the displacement is due to the Gokaigers and Zangyack existing there in the first place because of that wish your captain made." Fira added.

"Why is it taking so long for this fire key to get to me anyway? Shouldn't be taking months regardless of the world issues."

Fira walked over to AC Sean and flicked his forehead, leaving an indent in his skin from her fingernail.

"I just told you, you're a lot weaker than you should be, what with you being basically 100% normal... as normal as a Super Sentai pirate is, anyway. My theory is that it's coming to you slowly so that your actual body can adjust to being able to use it, as opposed to when I gave you the key and you tested it out here in your shared consciousness."

"Think of it this way. You're fighting without literally ANYTHING I can do, you were even stripped of your Saiyan DNA from the looks of things. Either that, or it's under Multiversal lock and key. My point is, you're weaker than you've EVER been in your life. So imagine if you got the Fira Mode key immediately and tried to use it... what do you think would have happened?"

Sean looked at his double with a serious gaze. "Worst case scenario #1, you'd probably be burned alive by the burst of power. #2, being it doesn't burn you alive, but drains you completely to the point of death, or near death from the strain."

"Great. 'Sorry guys. I could have saved you all, but it would have sucked for me. Sorry you all died because I don't have the power to get your shadows back." After a moment AC Sean sighed. "Sorry. It hasn't been going well and I'm pretty tense."

"Looks like it." The brunette half-Saiyan looked at his other self solemnly. "I know it must be tough, and that you don't want to lose anyone else close to you. We've already had our fair share of losses. Starting with John..." He closed his eyes briefly and shook the memory away.

There was a brief silence between the three of them, letting the gravity of the situation weigh on them a little longer.

"But that doesn't mean we haven't gotten through tough situations before. I am not the kind of guy who gives up so easily. And since you're me, I would like to think that you aren't either."

"Don't give up? Gee why didn't I think of that? It's so damn easy for you to say." AC Sean said rolling his eyes.

"What I think he's trying to say is, you're a tough cookie, and you're smart too. You'll figure a way out of this and save your friends." Fira said.

"Problem is I don't know where to start. Nothing even hurt that thing. I hit it with a Gokai Blast dead between its eyes and it did nothing." AC Sean told them.

"Not even the Galleon Buster?" Sean asked.

"Tommy and Deion aren't finished with it yet. And I can barely understand the hieroglyphics they call handwriting."

Sean closed his eyes in thought again, humming to himself. "Okay, what I would do is use a Hyper Shinkenger form, whatever one you prefer. Basically the closest thing to being a Shinigami/Soul Reaper as far as Sentai go."

AC Sean opens his eyes as a thought comes to him.

'Or maybe... " AC Sean sits up. "Maybe that's my problem. I need to stop fighting like you would, and start like how I would."

Sean raised an eyebrow at him curiously.

"I don't follow. We're the same person"

"I'm not you. Not completely. Take two identical people, put then in separate environments and they behave differently over time. You thought Shinkenger, but I didn't. Didn't even cross my mind. Being here for so long, constantly with my back against the wall, my friends there with me...I'm going to save them. And I'm going to do it the way my crew does anything. Improvise. " AC Sean gets to his feet. "Delta can do whatever she wants to that big ugly. It won't matter. Because I will be damned if I let my friends down."

Sean smirks at his mirror self and stands up as well. "That's the kind of answer I was looking for."

"Kyle's right. I am pretty unbearable to be around." AC Sean says with a smirk as he fades away.

"Oh, shut up."

Sean woke up and sat up after leaving the dreamscape. He stood up and walked to the console, typing on it. The nature of the Hollow made it difficult to find, but Sean had an idea. If he couldn't find the Hollow, he'd look for what he could find.

There. A power plant was reporting strange happenings. Best place to look.

Sean ran onto the deck of the ship and stood on the railing, taking out a ranger key.

"A Pirates life."

Gokai Change!

Shadowswipe walked the railing of the power plant, looking for another human. He could have sworn he saw one go this way. As he searched, he heard a whistling sound. Looking around, he saw something. A shadow heading to him. A Shadow without a person attached. He usually had to look for meals, but this one was coming to him.

Then the laser blasts started around him, destroying the catwalk and sending him falling 45 feet to the ground.

Sean, as the Green Eagle Jetman, flew down and delivered a flying kick before blasting the Hollow with the Wing Gauntlet. Summoning his Bringer Sword in his left hand, he ran at it and managed a couple slashes.

When the Hollow attempted to go after his shadow, Sean blasted the ground in front of him with the wing gauntlet, making his shadow vanish briefly and delivering a slash to the back of the hollow.

It roared and spun, hitting Sean with its tail, sending him sliding back.

Gokai Change: Spirit Ranger

Sean changed into the green elephant Jungle Fury ranger and charged, trying to use the sheer brute strength of the change to batter the Hollow. He summoned the Jungle Mace and used it, managing to use the chin to trip the Hollow before slamming the mace into its mask, still not leaving a mark.

Shadowswipe lunged at Sean, who rolled over the Hollow's back, trying to choke him with the chain before pulling and sending him face first into the wall.

Gokai Change: Liiiiightspeed Rescue

Sean grabbed the Titanium Laser and fired several blasts before changing it into Axe mode, swinging it's blade at the mask in attempts to break it and save his friends. After a few exchanges, Shadowswipe hit Sean with his tail, sending him through the wall.

Sean grunted and sat up, grabbing his gun as Shadowswipe approached.

"I don't give a single damn if my body can handle it. I need that power." Sean said, pointing his gun at his opponent.

"Gokai Change: Gooooookai Black BAAAAAANKAAAAIIII"

Sean was enveloped in tornado of fire. When it passed, Sean was in the new form he had waited for so long. His visor now red, a red trenchcoat with split tails that was connected by belts.

Sean twirled his sword and rested it on his shoulder.

"About damn time." Sean said with a smirk.

Shadowswipe roared and charged. Sean threw his sword at the ground, tripping Shadowswipe. As he tripped and slide, Sean jumped up and curb stomped the Hollow into the ground before rolling away and grabbing his sword. As fire trailed his sword, Sean delivered a slash at the back of the hollows head before doing a spin kick.

Taking out the GokaiBlack and Titanium Ranger keys, he inserted them into his weapons.

FINNALLL WAAAAAVE

Gripping his sword, he brought it down in a slash, then spun and fired his gun. The two attacks joined and slammed into the mask of the hollow, finally shattering it. Seconds after the white mask broke apart, the hollow screamed and exploded, a wave of shadows flying away.

Sean powered back into base GokaiBlack form and exhaled. It had been a long time since he had that kind of power. Watching as a series of Shadows flew off in the direction of the Galleon, he nodded.

"I was in time." He said to himself. He didn't have long to think before Shadowswipe started to grow.

"Oh come on!" Sean yelled as he ran outside. A giant Shadowswipe burst from the roof of the building, where GokaiRobo was finishing it's transformation into robot mode. The Hollow roared and charged, using it's agility to avoid attacks and deal damage to the mecha.

Sean pushed the button on his buckle to grab a Ranger Key, but dropped it after an attack that sent him crashing into a building. As he tried to collect his thoughts, his eyes fell on the Phantom Ranger key, and he glanced at the console.

Could it be that simple? Only one way to find out. He grabbed his keys and inserted them into the keyholes, with the Phantom Ranger key going in the top. He took a breath and turned the Phantom Key.

"Ranger Key: Let's Go!"

The other keys turned as one. The Artillatron Carrier Zord appeared and the hatches opened, launching the mecha inside. Paleo Tricera, Green Eagle, Bat Spirit Zord and a redesigned Max Solorzord launched.

"SuperGokaiRobo: GO!"

Sean called. Green Eagle and Tricera Zords formed new legs and attached to the GokaiRobo once the current legs folded back into the Mecha. The arms folded on themselves and formed new shoulders as the Max Solorzord broke apart to become a chest piece and arms. Then the Bat Spirit Zord shifted, combining onto the zord's back, the wings becoming a cape. And finally the Artillatron launched one final piece, a new helmet that attached to GokaiRobo, completing its change into its Super configuration.

Once that was done, the Zord began to make its move.

Shadowswipe fired an energy blast from it's eyes, which was blocked by using one of the bat wings as a shield. Roaring, it charged at the zord and pounced on it before trying to shift and use leverage to throw it.

Grabbing the wings, the zord quickly stabilized itself in the air, flying at it's opponent and delivering a flying drop kick, sending it flying back. Grabbing the Hollow, it then delivered a headbutt. Before it could continue Shadowswipe fired another energy blast at point blank, sending the zord stumbling back. Before anything else could happen, a blue flame blasted Shadowswipe as GoZyuRex and GaoGokaiOh arrived.

"Sorry for the delay." Rachel said as her mecha closed it's mouth.

"No problem. I've got things well in hand." Sean said.

Sean turned his key again as Artillitron sent over the Black Panther Bo-Buster Zord, which became a cannon.

"Super X-Tra Blast!' Sean called as energy gather, then fired, destroying the Hollow's mask again, and this time vanquishing it for good.

"I feel like we shouldn't have rushed to get here." Tommy said with a chuckle, leaning back in his seat.

"So, I finally got this power my prime self promised months ago. I'm not what I used to be, but it will defiantly help tip the scales." Sean said as he finished explaining what happened.

The crew had returned to the Galleon, and cleaned up the mess Sean caused as he went over everything.

"Having a taste of the old power make you wish you were back home?" Crystal said with a grin, sitting down.

"Not as much as I expected. It's not the power that matters, not the abilities or anything. It's who you share the adventures with. You guys. You're my family. And that's why, when all this is over. I'm going to stay. Your all going to be stuck with me forever!" Sean said with a laugh.

"Delta is getting desperate. And we have still have her older brother Omega to go. Once we defeat them, defeat Basco and get the lost Grand Powers, we can fix this. And that's when we can start having fun." Kyle said.

"After all, that is a pirates life." Sean said with a grin as they all tapped their mugs together in a toast.

Ok, so ends this chapter. It took way longer to put my ideas on paper then I expected, because I wanted such a unique style for this Hollow.
