I'm truly sorry with everything as of late. I've been so busy involving my life the only days I get to have any me-time is Saturday and Sunday. Which I mostly sleep through considering. But as off now I'm officially announcing that this story will be placed on hold until I'm completed with College and taken my final certification test, and maybe find myself an apartment . But I'm truly sorry from the bottom of my heart. If you guys are willing to help me with the story please send me your idea/chapters to my inbox. I may not respond back immediately because of my job. Hopefully you can expect my apology.
A boy of about 10 turned around at the sound of Frank's voice, Forrester had been sitting on a chair with a number of his younger brothers showing them his Pokemon when Frank had walked in demanding a challenge.
"Ah Frank, i was wondering when you would show up" the young gym leader said to Frank who was still standing in the open doorway of the gym.
"Hey Forrester, I came to get my Boulder Badge", Forrester looked at Frank and smiled "Sure thing, but you'll have to beat me first".
Forrester stood up from his sitting position and said to Frank, "Follow me." And he turned and walked further into the Gym.
Frank followed Forrester through a number of hallways and rooms that were filled with trainers and their Pokemon and various training fields before coming to a sliding door which was then pushed open by Forrester.
The room was large and dominated by the battle field which was surrounded by stands and a referee box, Forrester moved to one side of the room and Frank moved to the other.
"Okay this will be a three on three battle between Forrester, Gym Leader and Frank of Sandgem Town" said the referee holding up two flags with one for each competitor, "it will be a 3 on 3 with Leader Forrester not being able to switch out unless the opponents Pokemon has fainted in the previous move" the referee paused "And let the battle begin!" he said with a cry starting the match.
Forrester started the match sending out his Rhyhorn "Okay your move Frank" said Forrester and Frank got Rayne's Pokeball of his belt. Frank could feel the nerves starting to creep up from inside him and he looked at the pokeball in his hand and made his decision.
"Lets go Rayne, show them what we can do" and threw the pokeball onto the battlefield and Rayne appeared in a flash of light on the battlefield a couple yards from Forresters Rhyhorn which was pawing the ground in anticipation for the battle.
"Rhyhorn start it off with Takedown" Yelled Forrester to his Pokemon and Rhyhorn started to charge at Rayne with the powerful move. "Rayne use Tackle" said Frank with confidence in his voice and the two Pokemon now with their attacks in motion on a collision course.
By this time Davonte, Taylor and Matt had taken their seats in the stands around the field and were watching with stunned looks. "why did he choose Rayne" said Matt, "he does realise that Rhyhorn won't take any damage from Rayne's electric attacks because of its ground type" Matt shook his head as he finished the sentence "He'll learn his lesson" said Matt to the others and they turned their attention back to the match to see Rayne go flying from a direct hit from Forrester's Rhyhorn.
Frank cried out with Rayne as it hit the ground, he hadn't expected Rhyhorn to come at him with that sort of speed for a Rock type Pokemon. "Rayne, are you okay?" yelled Frank and Rayne stood up on shaky feet and Forrester called out to Frank from the other side of the battlefield, "So Frank I bet you didn't expect speed from my pokemon, you see I trained Rhyhorn to cover that particular weakness" he added with a smug grin.
Frank just got more determined from Forrester's remark and called out to Rayne "Rayne use bite" and Rayne ran towards Rhyhorn. Forrester looked on in contempt "He has no battle strategy" he said to himself and decided that he wouldn't show Frank any mercy, he had to learn a lesson.
"Rhyhorn use Scary Face then use Fury Attack to finish it off" commanded Forrester and his Rhyhorn performed the speed lowering move and Rayne shied away his speed falling at the same time, Rayne however didn't notice Rhyhorn coming towards him like a steam train and the colour in Frank's face disappeared.
Rhyhorn slammed into Rayne with force and kept hitting him after the initial impact hitting Rayne repeatedly with its horn then with a final ram sent Rayne flying towards Frank.
"Shinx is unable to battle!" said the referee "The winner is Rhyhorn!" and Forrester smiled over at Frank as he returned Rayne to his pokeball.
"I'm sorry..." and he put the pokeball back on his belt. Frank looked back at the Battlefield and picked Eevee of his belt, and threw it onto the battlefield.
Frank's Eevee appeared with an "Eev" and looked at the Rhyhorn in front of it which had resumed its pawing of the ground in front of it with its claws.
Forrester looked on in disappointment at Franks choice of Pokemon, "You really think you can beat my Rhyhorn with that?" he said with a look of contempt at Frank's Eevee.
Frank looked at Eevee which was watching the Rhyhorn carefully, "Okay, Eevee use Growl" commanded Frank to his pokemon, "Eevee" it cried and Rhyhorn's attack fell.
Forrester shrugged his shoulders and once again commanded his Rhyhorn to use takedown. Rhyhorn charged at Frank's Eevee and made a direct hit but it didn't do much damage due to Eevee's Growl attack.
Frank smiled for the first time during the match at Forrester who didn't seem to be deterred by the lack of damage that Rhyhorns attack did instead Forrester called out to Rhyhorn to use Fury Attack.
Rhyhorn's Fury Attack was unrelenting in its barrage against the small pokemon. Franks Eevee didn't stand a chance and when Rhyhorn finished its attack the Pokemon was lying, fainted on the ground.
"That pokemon put up even less of a fight then the last one Frank" said Forrester to Frank as he returned Eevee.
Frank had started to look increasingly worried at how the match was going, he knew that his next choice would decide the match.
He pulled Chimchar's pokeball off his belt in preparation when Forrester surprised him by withdrawing his Rhyhorn.
Forrester smirked at Frank and said "I can't let you lose to the one pokemon now can I?" as he said this he threw a different pokeball out and said "Go Geodude!"
This was a small pokemon that held the same appearance as a large rock or a small boulder and was the most commonly found rock type pokemon to be found. Frank was certain that Chimchar would be able to handle it.
"Go Blitz!" Said Frank throwing his final Pokemon onto the Battlefield in a burst of light. Chimchar let put a fiercely cry indicating its readiness for the upcoming battle. With Frank hearing this, he felt the confidence once again. "Forrester I hope you're ready because I think it's times for the games to end and we get serious!"
Forrester smirks with confidence knowing clearly he have the type advantage, as well as the numbers advantage. "You seem to finally find your brain after you've been backed-up into a corner, too bad it came this late into a battle because you've already lost this battle."
"You'll never fully know until the last Pokemon of one side has been finished." Frank sy with a devilish smirk on his face. "Blitz use Dig!" Doing as he's commanded Chimchar dig into the rocky field of the gym and waits for his next command given.
In the meantime, Forrester not knowing what the next move is begins to worry about his pokemon's well-being and begins to think of a plan towards attacking Chimchar. He thoughts are broken when Frank begins speaking. "If I know anything about Rock type pokemon, it would be that they have amazing physical Attack and Defensive power. However, when it comes to special defense, they don't stand much of a chance. Blitz use a full-power Ember from underground on Geodude."
Without warning, a fierce barrage of fire sparks come shooting out of the ground directly under Geodude. With no way of dodging the point blank attack, Geodude was burned and shot into the air. When it came crashing down onto the field, it smashed into one of the large boulders around the arena and was knocked unconscious. With the referee seeing this, he decides to call the decision. "Geodude is unable to battle! Chimchar is the winner!"
With Forrest actually shocked with the quick outcome of the battle, he quickly recovers while trying to focus of the next battle ahead. He returns Geodude to his pokeball and whispers something unhearable to the rest. Seeing Chimchar still within the ground and waiting for its next combatant; Forrest realizes that as long as Chimchar stays underground, Frank has the element of surprise. Taking out another pokeball, Forrest regains his lost confidence. "That truly was an amazing comeback on your behalf, but I'm ending this battle now… Go Onix!" With a that being said; a white white appears, taking the form a a pewter snake-like creature made up of large boulders.
