"Draco, baby, come back to bed," the blond whose name I couldn't remember begged, not for the first time. I was standing naked in front of the fireplace in my room at the Manor. My Manor. An odd thought...
"Come on, Draco. I'm cold," she said. I think she was trying to seduce me, but it wasn't her body that I wanted.
"Maybe you should go," I said to her without turning around. I didn't want to see her.
I heard my sheets rustling and I knew she was coming over to me, but I flinched when she touched me nonetheless. "You don't mean that," she said softly. I scoffed.
"I say a lot of things I don't mean, like when I said I wanted you to come home with me." She gasped. "However, I meant it when I said you should leave." Still not turning to face her, I listened to her dress and stomp out of my room, slamming the door.
Reaching into my pocket, I took out the muggle device I had purchased when... before she left. I scrolled through the names until I reached the one I wanted, then pressed the green button, held the phone to my ear, and waited.
"Hello?" she answered groggily. I looked at the clock. Damn! It's three in the morning.
"I'm sorry, Ginny. I didn't think of the time."
"Draco? What's wrong?" I felt my lips pull into a sad smile. Even after all I'd done, she still cares.
"Nothing. I just wanted to hear your voice," I answered truthfully. I heard her sigh.
"Draco..." She paused. I could hear her next words before she spoke them. I can't come over. You're an awful person. You hurt me beyond the point of repair. She wouldn't be wrong... "I'll be there in fifteen minutes. Leave your wards down." Then she hung up.
Maybe there was hope for me, after all.
