A/N: Hello! I know it's a mite short, but it has lots of potential. I may leave it as so, a one-shot, but if I get good responses, I might make it longer. That's it, on to reading!

Roadside Livings

"Incandescent flames of Love.." Staring distantly; somehow wistfully on. Ellis recited those infamous words once again. A morning sun gazed back, stretching into forever's horizon within her crystal blue eyes. Vast skies burned softly, higher than she, nor any she knew, had ever flown.

Her partner stood aside, watching Ellis as she watched the world. What Ellis saw in the world was amazing. A soft smile graced tanned features, her hand, opposite to her gun, resting mildly on her hip. Ticking an eyebrow a bit more necessary, faking a boyish 'bleck' of disgust she tipped a grin at Ellis. "Do you even know the rest of the lines?" She baited, knowing for sure that the starry-eyed blonde didn't.

Fields of Mexican Dry-lands smoothed the valley to the north, the tickling cold of a desert night fading into the softest warmth she'd ever felt. She did this every morning, though it's always new. Turning her head lightly to glance at the woman with the red hair. Nadie was what the stars were to the sky. An ironic name, but her light all the same. She stared into the luminescent glow of her Nadie for some moments, taking in the vision. Poncho in place, red tresses combed and kept well before Ellis had even awoken she assumed. She decided to take the bait.

She was leaning against the side of her trusty car of which she never learned even the model as Ellis turned swiftly on her heel, pacing toward Nadie. Her steps were sound and moved with true purpose. Ellis almost swayed into arms reach with unpracticed ease. She traced the flats of her fingers across the red-heads' strong arms and cupping her hands against the soft flesh of Nadie's elbows. The older woman lost her stance, pulled into another softly, but with Ellis' usual unusual strength. Not trapped, though not free to leave, willed by those eyes. 'Her lips moved and I was moved to listen..'

"For this, mine burning passion felt only for thee, no shield nor blade shall bar me from my love's embrace." she recited, all but by heart, her soft words almost a whisper. Turning her head in just the way she read in the book, "Eyes with flames burned Cerulean, skin enveloped in tones born from the Sun. Mine whispers of love rend Fate itself; She shall never cut our threads entwined." Concluding, Ellis backed away from the woman, smiling, victory written all over her face. "I guess I do know it huh?"

'Of all the..' She couldn't believe it. Little Elle, flirting? Totally caught off-guard, Nadie choked on her own breath, and tripped over herself in a rush. She couldn't help but stare. Looking at her pale features, Ellis looked just a tad flushed. 'Looks like we've got a tease.' she thought trepidly. Her own face was alight in red, a deep blush running across her face. Coughing into her hand to brush off the embarrassment, Nadie stood fully upright and grumbled a bit to nothing. Decidedly, the woman clapped a hand across the young girl's back laughing full and honest. "Wow, what a natural!" She couldn't help but snort in her mirth. "You really are a keeper, ya know that Elle?" Brushing herself off, she patted the outside of the red passenger door, cutting off any answer, not that either minded. Moving over to the driver side, Nadie looked towards her partner.

"Ready to go Ellis?"

Sliding into the seat naturally and snapping the safety belt on, the young Witch turned to the bounty hunter doing the same.

"Yes sir."
