Strange.

That was Hazel's first thought when he led them into battle.

Percy Jackson, of course, was never normal. Son of the Sea God, with memory loss and complete random actions and thoughts did not add up to normal. Hazel Levesque was amazed by how Percy fought without fear, against a complete army. But Hazel did not think of Percy as if he was invincible, nor super-powerful. No, Hazel just wondered how Percy could do all this and that, and still wouldn't admit that he was just. Plain. Awesome.

Hazel thought he was strange because he never –ever– realized what he was doing. He was saving them. And they just had insulted him, laughed at him… the list went on and on.

Hazel never did any of those things, neither did Frank, but still, it was strange –un-Roman, she realized– that he fought for the other people, too. Percy was incredible, a selfless demigod who fought for people that didn't care at all.

Annabeth.

The name changed it all, Annabeth was the girl Percy liked, but Hazel suspected it was more than that. She suspected he loved her. As far as Hazel knew, this Annabeth had helped Percy, but she didn't know just how lucky she was to have him as a boyfriend. The Strange, Selfless, Funny, Admirable, People-Saving son of Poseidon.

Hazel sighed, and raised her cavalry sword, riding Arion, and prepared for battle.

But, as she watched, a sword came down, directly pointed at Octavian.

Hazel gasped, but Percy was quick, he rapidly knocked the fighter out, and helped Octavian rise.

Strange, Hazel realized, He Is.
