Epilogue

Meg covered her mouth to keep herself from screaming when she saw what Christine had done to Erik. It was the night of the act of Don Juan. Christine had gotten the lead role in the play, while Meg was given the prima ballerina part.

It had been a great show until now. Meg now understood why Erik always kept his face covered. He had a deformity. It did not look bad. In fact, his face would look relatively if there was some stage makeup to put on it.

She watched in horror and with heartbreak as she watched Erik cut down the chandelier. He held onto the rope and fell down a trap door with Christine in his arms.

The smell of smoke made her forget about Erik for a moment. Her mother grabbed her arm and started to make her walk. The blonde had to practically run to keep up with her

"Where did he take her?" Raul de Changy asked as he came behind them. His voice and face was filled with desperation.

Annette closed her eyes and took a deep breath. "Come with me, Monsieur, I will take you to him!"

Meg's eyes lit up. "I'll go with you!" She could go with them. She could convince Erik to let Christine go. She knew he would not want the brunette woman unhappy.

Before she could put her plan to action, however; her mother stopped her. "No, Meg, you must stay here!" Annette told her. She wanted to be able to find her daughter after this was over. The older Giry grabbed Raul's hand and walked him toward one of the halls with a passageway in it.

Meg's blue eyes widened as she saw the Parisian police about to follow her mother. She blocked their way and yelled a very firm no. The men grabbed her and gave her a strange look. "I know a short cut." She lied to them. She knew that the Opera House was burning, but Meg knew she had to give Raul and her mother time to get to Erik, or at least give Erik a time to escape.

"Lead the way," the officer in charge told her.

She nodded and took a run to the Prima Donna's room. She knew this was going to take a while. She sent a prayer of thanks to the Lord for their safety so far and to continue to give them this protection. She also prayed that Erik would make the right choice for his sake and Christine.

It took forty-five minutes before they finally reached the "Opera Ghost's" home. Meg was the first to arrive to arrive before the police. She began to look around. Even though she had been here several times, the sight always took her breath away. The officers were in the same state of mind that she was in.

She shook her head and started to look around. He was not here. Had he and Christine left? Her eyes went to the table. Erik's white mask was it.

A ghost of a smile appeared on her face. She walked to the table and bent down and gently picked it Erik would never leave this behind now would he leave his monkey music box that was beside the mask. Erik was around somewhere. He was hiding.

It took two hours for the police to leave. They were able to get out safely. Meg had gone with them, but she and her mother went back down. As they walked, she told her mother of her time traveling adventure.

Erik ran back into his hiding place when he heard footsteps. He watched from behind the curtain to see who was coming. He let out a sigh of relief. It was Meg and Annette.

Meg called his name gently. He stepped out.

A smile crept upon their faces. Erik ran to her and picked her up. He kissed her on the lips long and hard.

A blush appeared on Meg's face. Her mother smiled. She was happy that Erik had found someone to love. She was happy for her daughter too.

Four years later, they got married. They had no idea what the future held, but they both knew that as long as they had each other life would be perfect.
