I would like to say thank you to all of your for all of the encouraging messages! I feel horrible that it has taken me so long to update this store. I will try very hard to have another chapter up by this weekend.
"Rusty I need you to help Mike look for Maddie's iPod." Andy said nudging the boy towards Mike's desk.
"Rusty, do you know if Maddie enabled the find iPod touch app on her iPod?" Mike asked as he sat his coffee down at his desk.
"Probably, she loves that thing. Has it with her everywhere she goes." Rusty said as he watched Mike go to work on his computer.
"That's what we are hoping for." Andy said giving Rusty's shoulder a squeeze.
"I should be able to login through the iCloud and locate her iPod. I'm going to need your help figuring out her login information." Mike said looking over to Andy. It took the three of them a while, but they were finally able to figure out Maddie's passcode. Once mike was in it took a few clicks of a button and the map started to zero in on the location of the iPod. Everyone huddled around Mike's desk as they waited for the results of location.
"Is this some kind of freaking joke?" Rusty said looking back at Andy.
"Shit!" Andy blurted out when it registered that the location on the screen was Sharon's house. "Rusty I thought….." but that was all Andy was able to get out before Rusty started yelling at him.
"This is all your fault! This never would have happened if it wasn't for you! I HATE YOU!" Rusty shouted at Andy before pushing by him and the rest of the team.
Everyone just looked at each other unsure of what they should do. The look on Andy's face was heartbreaking. They all knew he was already thinking what Rusty had said, but hearing it out loud hurt much more than just thinking it.
Moving from Andy's side Provenza says, "You know he didn't mean it. He got his hopes up that this would lead us to them, Andy. He is just hurting. You have to know that. I will go talk to him."
"Yeah, I know." Andy said in almost a whisper. Sánchez nudged Sykes towards the break room, with Mike quickly following. Andy stood looking at the screen wondering how things went so wrong. Life with Sharon and the kids was his second chance. He wanted to give Sharon the life she deserved, the love she deserved, and the family she wanted.
A quivering breath escaped Sharon's body when she heard Maddie's body crash into the floor. Sharon immediately started to crawl towards Maddie's body when there was a second thud. Sharon eyes widened when she saw Jake's body lying beside Maddie. She quickly scooped Maddie up onto her lap and started checking her daughter's body over to make sure she wasn't hurt, but the older man grabbed Maddie by the head of her hair.
Placing the barrel of the gun to Maddie's head the man started yelling at her, "You see what you made me do you little bitch! I warned the two of you the last time and you just couldn't listen, could you."
"It wasn't her fault, it was mine. She had nothing to do with this." Sharon said looking directly into the older man's eyes.
"Is that so?" he said as he released Maddie's hair.
"Yes," Sharon said holding her chin up, showing him she was not afraid of him.
"Well then, I'm going to have to make sure that doesn't happen again." He said raising his hand with the gun and smacking Sharon in the face with the handle. Sharon gasped in pain as the handle of the gun collided with her cheek. The impact caused her to lose focus until she felt Maddie move moving away from her body. When Sharon opened her eyes the man pulled Maddie close to his face as he spoke, "The next time she won't be so lucky."
Sharon and Maddie clung to each other as the door closed. After a few moments of slice Maddie could feel Sharon's body start to shake as she started sobbing. Trying to be gentle with Sharon, Maddie got to her knees and held her mother as she started to unravel. "Mommy please don't cry, it's going to be ok, everything is going to be ok." Maddie whispered into Sharon's hair.
"Maddie I don't know what we are going to do. I have to find a way to get you out of here." Sharon said tighten her gripe on Maddie.
"It's ok, Jake is going to save us." Maddie said moving away from Sharon.
Sharon's eyes widen as she looked at Maddie. She knew what the stress of a situation like this could do, but seeing Maddie become delusional worried her even more. How was she going get Maddie to safety if the child couldn't think straight?
"Maddie, you saw what that man did to Jake sweetie. Jake can't help us now." Sharon said taking Maddie's hands in hers.
"But he already has." Maddie says pulling her hand from Sharon and digging in her pocket.
