Chapter 3

Starfire POV

I open my eyes, and struggle to get used to the brightness. I look around and see that my arms are attached to some machine, I try to pull them out and use my star bolts with no luck. I aim to remember what had happened, why was I here? My memory wanders back to the fight with Slade, with Robin not wanting to join us and me falling over and waking up here. I gaze at my surroundings and see a familiar face walking up towards me.

"Starfire! You have arisen. Boy was it easy to capture you. Easy than I thought. Maybe you aren't as strong as I once thought" he says chucking. I look at him angrily and try with all my might to use my star beams or anything. Just wanting to get Slade.

"I'm strong one Slade, my friends will find the me" I remark he looks at me and shakes his head.

"There's no use trying to get out. You are attached to this machine, do you know what it does? As for your friends. They'll find you when I want them to. No sooner no later" Slade says smirking. I turn my gaze away feeling slightly frightened by my position but wanting to stay strong. I shake my head not having any idea what this machine does but also being scared to know what it does.

"It drains you of your power. So that I can use said power for my plans. And you'll become rutha as the tameraneans call it" he says as he walks off. He was right though, I could feel myself becoming more weak and I needed to find a way out of here.

Robin POV

"We'll find her Robin. We have to" Raven says calmly. I look over at her and sigh. I hoped she was right I thought.

"Have you tried to find her through her tracker?" I ask running my hand through my hair. How could I have let this happen?

"Cyborg and Beast Boy are on it. What else can we do?" Raven asks as I simply nod and walk with her out of the room.

"Keep check of any movement around the city that might be Slade. I'm going to try and get Slade to come out of his cave" I say. Raven looks at me perplexed.

"And how do you plan on doing that?" Raven asks quizzingly.

"By getting his attention" I say. This was probably a dumb plan but I needed to do something. I hadn't had much luck with the typical means of finding Slade which I'd tried to do for months and my stubbornness had resulted in Star getting taken. I head towards the TV and call for Cyborg. I see Cyborg arrive looking grim.

"Any luck?" I ask knowing full well he hadn't found anything but was holding onto hope. Cyborg looked down and shook his head.

"I need your help" I say sternly.

"What can I do? I want to find Star almost as much as you" he says. I could tell Star being gone weighed heavily on his mind.

"I need you to record me making a statement and broadcast it on the television" I say firmly he looks at me shocked.

"I need to get Slade's attention. Our traditional methods aren't working. And the longer Star is gone the more worse her state is likely to become"I say sternly. Cyborg merely nods and grabs out a video camera and gets the cords all set up.

"ready to go" Cyborg says calmly. I look over at him and nod. He motions for me to begin, giving me a thumbs up.

"Hello citizens of Jump City. I am Robin, member of the Teen Titans. I have a message for all of you. One of our members, Starfire has been kidnapped by an enemy of Jump City, Slade. If anyone knows or sees anything regarding this please contact the Teen Titans. As for Slade, I have a special message for you. We both know she's not the one you want. I am. I am the one who is the challenge. The one you wish to beat. For after all, I am your enemy. Starfire is merely a bargaining chip in your little game. You've got my attention, so come and get me" I say sternly.

I wanted to appear strong even if my whole world felt like it was crashing down. I nodded at Cyborg who stopped recording and looked at me and walked closer and hugged me. I was shocked by the gesture but put my arm around him anyway. We were a team, and we would always be stronger together.
