A short little one-shot based on a story my friend told me once.

"What's dis?" little 4-year-old Victoire Weasley asked a 6-year-old Teddy Lupin.

"It's a teddy bear," Teddy replied, holding it out to her.

"But I don't want a teddy," Victoire pouted like the adorable child she was. "I want a big girl ring wike mommy. So we can get mawwied."

Teddy didn't say anything, just handed her the teddy. She studied it for a moment. It was a cute little thing, all white with a pink bow tied around its neck. It was holding a red heart with both of its small furry paws. There was white writing on the heart, but Victoire was not old enough to read it yet.

Victoire frowned and, like the stubborn girl she was, tossed the bear into the street. "I don't want it. I want a big sparkwy ring!"

Teddy looked slightly hurt when she threw the bear, so he ran out into the street to retrieve it. But at the same time, a man in an SUV swerved around the corner of the street, talking on his cell phone.

He plowed straight into Teddy, who had just picked up the small white bear.

The driver didn't notice, merely assuming he had just gone over a bump in the road.

Victoire, on the other hand, gasped and started to scream for her mommy.

Fleur Weasley rushed out of the house, her husband Bill at her heels. She paled at the sight of the crushed body of Teddy Lupin, his hand still clutching the bear. She could hardly believe how this happened; she had only gone in for a minute to calm a wailing Dominique. She rushed her little daughter into the house while her husband called an ambulance.

Several hours later, Teddy Lupin was in heaven with his parents and the Weasleys and Potters were in mourning.

Victoire was given the teddy bear he was holding, as she had thrown a tantrum until it was given to her. She had her mother read what was written on the heart to her.

"'Will you marry me?'" Fleur read quietly. As soon as the words left her mouth, she started to sob again.

Victoire was inspecting the bear again, this time more closely. She saw a zipper for a pocket towards the top of the heart. She quickly pulled at it and inside, there was a ring.

It was the cheesy plastic kind you buy as party favors, but a ring none-the-less. She squealed and put it on the same finger she saw her mother put her wedding ring on.

She showed it to everyone in the family, telling them how it was in the bear, which only made the people in the hospital waiting room cry even more. When Victoire showed the ring to his godfather, Harry Potter, he pulled her into his lap and buried his face in her long blonde hair. A second later he was crying while Victoire admired her sparkly ring once more.

And up in heaven, in the arms of his parents, Teddy Lupin smiled, knowing that the girl he loved would have said yes.
