A/N: This story is inspired by, and partly modeled after, Eowyn White Lady of Rohan's story, Heaven is like Rivendell, but I did my best to make it into my own poetic story. Thanks for the inspiration, Eowyn, if you ever read this, and forgive me if my story sounds similar to yours.

Heaven is Like Khazad-dûm

Khazad-dûm, the realm of Dwarves,
So gleaming bright and armored might,
Needs only the lamp of the good Lamb,
To give forth its heavenly light.

Many are its crafted treasures,
Sapphire blue and emerald green,
Amethyst purple and ruby red,
They make it a grand place to be seen.

I hope Heaven is like Khazad-dûm,
For there the thieves will not come to steal,
The rust will not tarnish the metal,
And the goblin Orc will not squeal.

Kibil-nâla the mountain stream,
It's waters run soft and cold,
So like the River of Life it could be,
Like it was to the Dwarf Lords of old.

Kheled-zâram the Mirrormere,
Where the crown of Durin did appear,
A crown of great lordship it was,
It will be again when Jesus is here.

I hope Heaven is like Khazad-dûm,
With it's Kheled-zâram lake so pretty,
And it's Kibil-nâla stream so pure,
Adding life to the Holy City.

There we will serve for God's glory,
Like Dwarves worked for Mahal the Maker,
While Dwarves chiseled for stone and Mithril,
We will chisel talents for the Creator.

As Dwarf Lords of old rule Heaven,
Apostles turned kings may they be like,
May we sing the praises of Christ,
As they revered and loved a god unlike.

I hope Heaven is like Khazad-dûm,
With it's kings merciful and queens fair,
May it's treasures endure for all time,
Or life will be not fair and square.

The Seven Fathers of the Dwarves,
Durin the Deathless, the eldest he was,
Making so-called Moria a place of beauty,
A heart-stopper and grand hall 'twas.

May other Dwarf Lords like Dáin and Thorin,
Balin and Gimli and even Mîm,
Rule in Heaven with Jesus' greatest men,
So there will be other friends to share with Him.

So when I get to Khazad-dûm,
Tiresome labor will be no more,
For I, and the Dwarves, and God,
Will joyously work for His eternal lore.
