Kyle
Branches and shrubbery tugged at Kyle's clothes as he ran from the hotel, he couldn't see where he was headed with his vision blurred by tears but he didn't care. He let the tears flow freely down his cheeks as they cooled his burning skin, steam trailed from him even though he was in a mostly wooded area. He sobbed as the memory of what had just taken place played behind his clouded eyes, he pushed himself into a sprint in no particular direction as he tried to run from the memory. He ignored the branches that scratched at his face as he noticed a clearing, he pushed through the brush only to freeze in place. The master's mansion loomed over him and he let out a heart-wrenching scream, "no... How?" His legs gave out under him as he felt the sun's rays quickly sap the energy from him, his knees took the brunt of the impact before he completely collapsed. The sound of light footsteps could be heard from all around him but he didn't have enough motivation or energy to check, a large cloth was draped over him before hands gently lifted him from the ground.
"You came back to me, I am so proud of you." He heard Dom coo into his ear and he made a move to push him away but the action turned to a weak caress of his chest. "Save your strength love," the feeling of the shift from outside to in the mansion sent a shiver down his spine as he wished that he was in Stan's arms instead. He let cooling tears spill down his damaged face, the pain it caused made the tears flow faster as it slid into ever crack and crater the sun's harmful rays etched. He wanted to cry and lash out but all too quickly his cover was removed, he was welcomed with Dom's calming voice that echoed in their darkened room. "Bring a bag of O+ and a maiden from my supply." He let his head fall to the side and nearly cried out as he felt the cracked skin on his neck start to ooze blood instead he let out a small whine like a wounded animal. He didn't blink an eye as Dom bent down into his view, "you're going to be alright my dear." He gently placed his hand on Kyle's hair which was thick enough that it didn't let the sun damage his scalp, "you had me worried sick, you disappeared in the middle of a sunny day and I feared I would never see you again."
His breathe caught as he noticed Dom's eyes wet with tears yet to be shed, "you're crying?" His voice cracked as his throat felt impossibly dry, fear coursed through him as he realized the gravity of the situation.
Dom averted his gaze and he wiped his eyes, "you seem surprised. Why wouldn't I cry after fearing your death only to find you at my door just on the brink of death?" Kyle was speechless at this show of vulnerability and compassion, something he never thought he would witness from the Headmaster. His thoughts were interrupted as a servant scurried her way into the room with a bag of blood in one hand and a chain in the other, the chain ended at the collar of a woman in a white nightgown who looked well cared for except for the bruising around the shackles on her wrists and ankles. The servant wasted no time preparing him for the iv before he was hooked up and watching the blood slide down the tube, he felt an immediate warming sensation and couldn't help but sigh with relief. "After the bag you will have enough energy to feed off of her, I picked her myself so she is clean and fresh." Dom laid a hand on Kyle's hair and gave a small smile, "do you think you can feed off of her? If not we can just hook her up to the IV." Kyle looked at the woman and frowned, he didn't want to bite her but the cravings were making his inside ache. With a small shake of his head the servant started to prep the woman for the IV, "I will not force you but soon you will have to feed off of a human to acquire your full potential." His gaze slowly looked back at Dom who now carded his fingers through the red locks, "I know it is not easy to come to terms with this. How about on the day of the ceremony, before we are to wed you drink from a maiden to symbolize your transformation as ruler by my side." A sickly sweet smile spreads across his lips, "but for now you need to rest, you have been through much today." Kyle could feel himself drifting off as his eyes gazed into Dom's almost hypnotic eyes, he let his mind wander as his eyes closed and he fell onto a deep sleep in mere seconds.
Stan
Hiccups and heavy breaths echoed through the room that only housed Stan and Kenny, the girls had left to their own to give them privacy. Stan took a deep breath and let it out, he needed to think straight for a moment.
'Do you really accept me? I can feel you're hesitant but it's not alright to lie to yourself.'
He paused for a moment, 'am I lying to myself? I'm already a vampire, I can't change that now. If I accept I can only become stronger, to protect myself.' He glanced over at Kenny who was getting undressed, 'I can protect the people I care about.' An image of Kyle's smile appeared in his mind and it nearly brought him to tears again, 'maybe then I could get Kyle back.' He pushed that thought aside, he was claimed now and it was harder on him then Kyle to keep their relationship going.
"Stan?" Kenny's voice sounded meek and unsure. Stan looked at him to see the exact emotions run across his face as he wore nothing but boxers, "I can take the floor or the chair?" Stan realized he had gathered a pillow and a blanket near the foot of the bed in preparation, "I know I upset you and I don't want to push your boundaries." Stan watched him rock on the balls of his feet in obvious discomfort.
Stan sighed and shook his head, "it's fine, it's like a sleep over." Stan stood up and started to undress, Kenny stood still in shock before he grabbed his things and walked to the other side of the bed. Without another word they climbed into bed and Kenny turned the lamp off, there was a moment of silence before Stan let out a small whisper.
"Hey ken?"
"Yeah?" Kenny turned his head to look over at Stan.
"Can a claim or blood bond be broken?"
Kenny looked away, "well yes, if one of the people in the claim or bond dies then it will be broken."
Stan felt his chest ache at the thought, "is there any other way?"
Kenny was silent for a moment, "if one bonded person is away from the other long enough then starts the blood process with another then it will break the other bond."
"How long?" Desperation clear in his voice.
"Depending on the bond it could take years or decades."
His lips pressed tightly together at that, 'it would be impossible to keep Kyle away for that long.'
"I don't think we can break the claim, I know you want to but we can't go up against the Headmaster. Plus if he is grooming him to be the next master then it won't make much of a difference, we are fugitives while he is the next royal heir." The words sunk in and he couldn't help but feel angry and disappointed in himself, he brought this life onto Kyle and now he pays for it. "You should get some sleep, tomorrow we can find something to feed on and get your strength back." Stan closed his eyes in defeat as exhaustion finally set in, he heard Kenny's breath even out before he slipped into unconsciousness.
"Do you really accept me?" Stan groaned and opened his eyes but was met with darkness, "I know you don't actually want to accept me. You hate this part of yourself, that's why you locked it away in the first place. It was easier to shut me out than deal with the problem of not being normal." He saw a shadow fall upon his face and realized he laid down, "we can make a deal if that makes you feel better, a compromise."
He blinked up at the shadow, "What kind of deal?"
He felt his body lift from the floor to stand on its own accord, a mirror stood before him but the reflection revealed Dark crossing his arms at him. "Well you say things you do or don't want and I'll tell you what I want."
Stan thought for a moment, "I don't want to feed off of humans."
Dark raised a brow, "why? You've already fed off of one, you'll just need to feed off of more animals to satiate your thirst. I think it's crueler to hurt more beings than necessary but that's just my opinion." The smirk on Dark's face as he shrugged nonchalantly made his blood boil but he knew his words to be the truth. "Anything else?"
"No more killing," the reflection shook his head and sighed.
"I can't promise that, I only killed the people who tried to kill us."
He paused in thought once more, "I want you to accept my feelings and boundaries."
Dark let out a bark of a laugh, "alright, I can do that. Anything more?" Stan stood in silence before he shook his head, "good then it's my turn. I only have one request, I want to be a part of you. I don't want to be a backseat driver or an afterthought, I want to be able to live with you."
Stan thought for a moment before he nodded, "alright." Dark smiled and the reflection changed, the dark complexion faded away until his pale complexion appeared before him. He blinked and was surprised when the reflection blinked back, he realized that it was just him in the mirror now and he let out a breath he didn't know he was holding as he closed his eyes to let relief wash over him.
He took in a deep breath before he opened them again, greeted by the hotel ceiling and the soft snores of Kenny next to him. He paused and took a moment to asses himself, 'was that a dream?' He waited for a witty comment to assault him but was met only with the sounds of the room, he let out a small chuckle which quickly grew to laughter as unconscious tears wet his face and pillow.
Kenny whimpered, "wha-what's wrong?" He turned to face Kenny, his eyes widened as they beheld his expression.
"H-he's gone, it's just me!" He paused and his eyes widened, "no, it's just us... he's me and I'm him."
Kenny held up his pointer finger, "hold on... who is what now?" Sleep weighed heavily on his face as he blinked slowly and tried to comprehend.
"Dark is a part of me now."
Kenny blinked slowly, "wasn't he always?"
"Yes but now we are one person and not two personalities."
Kenny was silent for a moment before he scooted closer to Stan as he yawned, "so you accept yourself now?" He hummed another yawn as he buried his face in his pillow.
"Yeah, I guess I do."
Kenny smiled, "I'm glad, I hated seeing you fight yourself like that." He yawned loudly, "now we can really start fresh. Find a place to hide out for the rest of our lives or until that douche decides to leave us alone."
"What douche?" Stan held back a chuckle as Kenny slurred sleepily.
"The head douche, douche master, Dom Douche." Stan laughed and Kenny peeked at him, "what's so funny?"
Stan shook his head, "nothing, just go back to sleep."
Kenny yawned and nodded, "okay good night." After a couple moments of silence Kenny's soft snores permeated through the room.
"Good night," he whispered as he closed his eyes with a small smile on his lips.
Kenny
A rhythmical beat pulled Kenny from his slumber and he wanted to push away but his body refused to budge, he opened an eye to see Stan's sleeping face. His face flushed and he nuzzled closer to his chest, content with his spot he closed his eyes and relished in the comfort. He let out a sigh when a knock brought him out of his spot, he pulled himself out of bed with a groan before he shimmied over to the door. With a glance through the peep hole he unlocked the door and opened it for the sisters, Trisha waved as they smiled and walked into the room.
Stan moaned sleepily as he rolled onto his side, "who?"
"The girls," Kenny yawned before he walked back to the bed, he glanced at the girls who had taken seats at a corner table before he climbed back into bed. He curled up with his back near Stan's and yawned once more before closing his eyes, he waited for what seemed like half an hour to fall back asleep but ultimately gave up and sat up in bed.
The girls silenced their soft chatter as he swung his feet over the bed, "long night?"
Kenny looked up at Trisha who had a smirk in her eye, "it's not what you're thinking."
Danielle gave him a once over, "from where we're sitting it's a reasonable assumption." Kenny looked down at himself before he turned his back to them, his face red with embarrassment as he covered the tent in his boxers with his hands.
"Ha ha very funny, I'll be in the shower." He grumbled as he made a dash for the bathroom, he walked into it to find a shower that was so small he didn't think Stan would be able to fit in. He turned the faucet on and yelped as cold water sprayed his arm, shaking the water from his arm he pulled off his boxers and stepped into the stream. He clenched his teeth as he let the water wash over his chest and stomach, his thoughts raced with the events of that morning and he sighed. 'Have I lost my chance?' He hung his head to let the water cascade down his neck and back, 'I wonder if Kyle's okay? It's a long way to the Master's mansion, if he cut through the forest he could make it but-.' He lifted his head and let the water wash the worry from his features, 'I'm sure he's fine.' He thought of Stan and what he must be feeling, he felt an ache in his chest as the connection they shared stretched thin so he could no longer sense where he laid. He grabbed the bar soap and stared to wash his body down, thankful that he was no longer erect so he could quickly get out. He shivered as he rinsed himself and turned off the water, he grabbed the cheap towel they provided and quickly dried himself before he pulled his boxers back on. He walked out of the bathroom and smiled at Stan who sat up in bed as he rubbed the sleep from his eyes, "the showers free now but it's super small." He walked over to his clothes that he piled not so neatly on the floor and plopped them onto the bed, Stan groaned and massaged his temples as Kenny pulled his pants from the pile and pulled his leg through.
"Ugh my head is killing me, it feels like the aftermath of a war." He stood up slowly and trudged over toward the bathroom, "I hope you left me some hot water."
Kenny smiled, "of course, take all the time you need." He watched as Stan closed the bathroom door before he relaxed his shoulders, he rolled them before he buttoned his pants and reached for his shirt.
"Wow, could you be any more obvious?" Trisha smirked and Kenny sent a stern halfhearted glare her way.
"Believe me I could be so quit pointing it out," he pulled the rest of his outfit on as the girls shook their heads. "I just need some time then everything will fall into place," he paused when he felt his back pocket vibrate and he quickly reached in and pulled out a small disposable phone. He gasped and felt his jaw clench as he recognized the number before he answered it, "hello?"
"Ken? I know you said not to call unless it was an emergency but... I think somethings wrong."
His little sister's voice trembled and he felt a feeling of dread wash over him, "what is it?"
"Mom and dad don't believe me but I think someone is stalking us, I see them outside my window at night and I'm scared."
"What do they look like?" He bit his lip as he thought of who could know where he his his family.
"It's always too dark to see his face but he's tall and skinny, he's pale and has red eyes. I can feel those eyes staring at me even when I can't see him, brother I'm scared."
She whimpered and Kenny clenched his teeth, "is he there now? Don't let him know you're there!"
"He's definitely there, I can feel him staring into the room." A sob echoed through the phone and Kenny nearly growled.
"Don't hang up the phone, I'm on my way!"
"Wait! He might be dangerous, plus I have my guardian angel remember? Mysterio would never let me get hurt." He could hear the uncertainty within her trembling voice.
"Just don't hang up alright, I'll find him and let him know alright?"
"Hurry Ken!" Another sob could be heard as she tried her best to stay quiet.
Kenny muted himself, "tell Stan I'll be right back."
"Is everything alright," Danielle stood up and blocked the way to the door slightly.
"I don't know but I need to check on someone, I'll be back as soon as I can." He pushed his way through to the door and sprinted off toward the city, he cursed to himself softly as he watched the street lights race past his vision until he came to a familiar street. He came to a screeching halt as he heard a snap of a branch and a rustle of leaves coming from his family's newer home, he ran to the back of the house to find it empty. He made his way to his sister's window and proceeded to give his special knock, within the first few seconds he felt panic crawl up his spine until the window flew open and his sister's arms were around his neck in a strangled embrace.
"Thank god you're here! I was so scared! Where is Myserio?" She stepped away from the window and motioned for him to enter, Kenny climbed in and locked the window behind him.
"He said I could handle it on my own, you know he knows what's best for you." Kenny pulled his younger sister into a tight embrace, "you scared me."
Her smaller arms tightened around him as her voice trembled, "I just thought it was one of the high schoolers playing a trick on me at first, but then he kept coming back and getting closer each night."
"How many times has he been outside your window? Why didn't you tell me after the first time?"
"I prayed to Mysterio but I don't think he can hear me," she let out a chocked sob.
Kenny took a deep breath, "Mysterio has been a little busy fighting off some bad guys but he will find the person who has been stalking you." He reaches out and wiped a tear from her cheek, "I need to know everything you have seen or heard when it comes to him alright? Every little detail is important to help find him."
She sniffles and nods, "um well he's pale and has red glowing eyes, he has blonde hair and he's really slender."
Kenny hissed lowly, "and you only saw one person?" She nodded as her eyes widened with newly formed fear, "good that means that Mysterio can beat him easily."
She rubbed her nose on her sleeve, "I'm really scared, can you stay with me tonight?"
He shook his head, "I need to go tell Mysterio about this but I'll come back tomorrow to make sure you're okay, alright?" She pouted but nodded, "good." He pulled her into a tight hug, "lock the window behind me."
"When are you coming back home?" She asked as Kenny started to climb out the window.
"You know why I can't come back, they would have a fit if they knew I was here now. I love you, now lock this behind me." He jumped down and watched her wave at him before she locked it, he walked away from her line of sight before he made a dash back to the hotel. He needed to tell Stan about this and see what they could do for her, he didn't want to be charged with kidnapping his own sister but if the time calls for it he would do anything to keep her safe.
Stan
He paced in his towel across his hotel room as he waited for Kenny, the girls look at him with obvious concern as he grumbled to himself. "How could he have just run off without me? What if it was about my vision I had of him earlier? We could have changed it together."
Trisha spoke up, "maybe you should sit down you don't look so good."
Stan waved her off, "I'm fine I just need Kenny to come back here before I go after him myself." Right as he said that the door started to open, "there you are! We were worried sick! You can't just run off like that without an explanation!"
Kenny tried not to laugh as he closed the door, "okay mom." He turned around and his eyes immediately landed on Stan's still wet chest and towel, "why aren't you dressed?!"
"Because I was worried about you, what if it was related to the vision I had about you?"
Kenny's eyes widened, "speaking of visions, the vision included my little sister right?" Stan nodded, "well I think that a vampire has been stalking my little sister at my old house. She didn't see them but she did say that they were pale with red eyes, we can't ignore this."
Stan grimaced at the thought, "well what should we do? We could camp outside your house and catch the creep in the act, teach him a lesson on stalking underage girls." He cracked his knuckles and rolled his shoulders.
"I think that would be the best way to do it, we don't know when they will decide to take on my family and my dad won't be able to defeat them with his guns."
"Then we should do this tonight, before they have a chance to act."
Trisha coughed, "Stan you aren't in any condition to fight anyone right now, I suggest that you feed at least a little bit before you do anything."
Stan looked at the concern on everyone's face and sighed, "fine."
Kenny looked at him with surprise, "well good." He rolled up his sleeve and raised his wrist to his mouth but a small hand pulled his arm down.
"What are you doing? You'll have less power if you give him your blood, he'll need to feed off of someone else."
Feeling uncomfortable Stan sat down on the bed, "I don't want to hurt anyone."
Trisha sat next to him and offered her wrist, "You didn't hurt my last time in fact you have more self-control than any vampire I've met."
Danielle grabbed her wrist, "you fed him recently so let me do it so you can heal."
Trisha huffed, "but you were used as a blood bank."
"They haven't fed off of me for a few weeks," she offered her wrist to him instead.
Stan hesitated but softly grabbed her wrist, "I'm sorry." He said before he sunk his fangs into her, after a small wince she sat down on the bed beside his as he took small drinks of blood. He already felt better after a few drinks but he knew he needed a bit more, he took a few more gulps until he got the instinct to pull away. After he licked the wound of excess blood he sighed, the feeling of a full belly of blood more comforting than disturbing to him now.
"How are you feeling?" Curiosity was obvious in Kenny's tone.
Stan licked his lips, "my headache is gone and I don't feel sore anymore." He stretched and looked at the impressed and amused look on all of their faces. "What? Do I still have blood on my face?"
Kenny shook his head, "no I'm just surprised by how nonchalant you are about this now."
He looked down at his hands before making eye contact with Kenny, "it isn't bothering me as much anymore, I mean I am still concerned about killing people but I've come to realize that it doesn't really hurt and if I'm careful then I won't kill anyone. I won't be taking blood from anyone who doesn't give me permission though, consent is important."
Kenny laughed, "That's my Stan, well I'm glad you are coming to terms with this now. That makes it a lot easier for all of us if I'm being honest, now I won't have to steal from blood banks anymore."
Stan's brows furrowed, "you were stealing from blood banks, why would you do that?"
Kenny scoffed, "they don't just sell the blood to anyone, I mean there are humans who sell to vampires but if they don't know you then you are shit out of luck. It's easier to just take it and face the consequences later."
"Then how do the vampires that aren't under the Headmaster get their blood?"
"There aren't any that I know of actually, vampires are controlled by the master that turned them. If you are turned by a rogue vampire such as myself then you aren't controlled by them because they don't have the same power as a Headmaster, which is why you never do as I say." Kenny smirked at himself but winced at the glare he got from the others. "Anyways I would assume they would get it like any other vampire, they would hunt for it or buy it from within the nest."
"What's the Nest?" Stan questioned and everyone gave him a look that made him question his stupidity.
"The nest is the mansion which the Headmaster resides, they call it a nest because that is where they make new vampires and where the militia lives so they can protect the noble family in case another noble or royal wants to attack to gain power." Trisha states as if she was giving a lesson.
"Wait how many other nobles and royals are out there?" Stan ran his fingers through his hair as the thought of the others coming to seek revenge after he finished killing the Headmaster.
"I don't know. They make it a rule not to talk about the other families around humans." Trisha shrugs as if the information wasn't really that important in the first place.
"I don't actually know either. I know there are at least four other noble families and at least two royal families from what I've gathered from overhearing their meetings." Kenny must have noticed the panicked look in Stan's eye because he placed a hand on his shoulder, "most of the families are at war with each other over power and I don't even know if the Headmaster has any family within the circle."
Stan relaxed his shoulders a bit, "I want to kill him."
Kenny's eyes widened, "I know he took Kyle but you have to understand he has an army behind him and he's nearly as strong as all of them combined. It's a suicide mission because I can assure you that you won't get out of there alive and neither will I." Stan gave him an incredulous look, "Don't give me that look. If you are going then I am going, Kyle's my friend too and he's going after my family."
"Boys," Trisha stepped in between them. "Neither of you are in the shape to be fighting a war, I say we take the small victories as they come as he will most likely continue to send troops after us."
Danielle nodded, "she's right. Running head on into a battle is a dumb brazen move that will get you killed, you need to have a plan and more power behind you if you want to take him on but first let's save a little girl."
Kenny looked Stan over and tried to hide a smirk, "I suggest putting clothes on first."
Stan looked down at his towel and tightened it around his waist as his cheeks flushed lightly, without a word he stands up and grabs his new clothes. He takes them into the bathroom to change and catches a glimpse of himself in the mirror, he leaned in toward the mirror to look at his face as he noticed how normal he looked in his situation. He touched his face as he looked into his eyes in the mirror, he stiffened and this time he was able to prepare himself for the incoming vision by kneeling down on the floor as the mirror started to warp.
He opens his eyes to find himself standing in a lightly wooded area, he looks around and recognizes Kenny's old home farther away. He senses Kenny hiding in a tree watching his childhood home like a hawk as he felt another presence quickly approaching, it was obvious that Kenny felt it after it was too late but Stan pricked his palm with a nail and had drawn his blood blade in time to block an incoming attack. The familiar blonde hair whipped from the force and Lucius let out a small grunt, "well look who sprung the trap, I was wondering when I would see your handsome face once more." Kenny jumped from his hiding spot and took an offensive stance, "why am I not surprised to find you here? Oh wait because it was my plan to find you and tear you to shreds."
Stan pushed against his blade, "such harsh words out of a sophisticated pretty mouth will sour your reputation."
He sneered at him, "Do you really think I give a damn about my reputation? I hunted the two of down so I can have the satisfaction of watching the life drain from your eyes so you could feel the helplessness and hopelessness that I felt when my partner was taken from me."
"Is that why I don't sense the big guy? I didn't know you two were fuck buddies." Kenny teased and Stan could feel the hairs raise on the back of his own neck as Lucius pushed against his blade.
"How dare you speak of him that way, I will gladly watch your blood stain your backyard!" He pulls back from their standoff and lunges toward Kenny with a speed he has never seen before, Stan rushes toward them but can only watch as the momentum cuts the blade clean through Kenny's chest. The top half of him blinks in surprise before it falls to the floor, blood gushing from his other half that quickly collapsed to spill his organs on the grass. Kenny mouths one word before he died before his eyes, "run."
Stan was brought back to reality by a banging on the bathroom door, he shakily unlocked the bathroom door before he noticed the shattered glass that was scattered around him and clinging to his hair. He stands up slowly and looks at the empty space where the mirror resided as Kenny opened the door, "Stan what happened? I heard-." He looked down at the mess of the floor and looked back at Stan, "another vision?" Stan locked eyes with Kenny as he felt the blood leak from his eyes but he could see him perfectly clear, Kenny gasps and cups Stan's face as he stares into his eyes. "Oh my god your eyes, they're red and black."
Stan grabbed Kenny's hands and pulled them from his face but didn't let get, "we have a problem."
