A/N: Sorry this took so long to get up. Had internets problems. This chapter got away from me. Edward just wouldn't shut up. This chapter still feels a little off to me but I knew I had made ya'll wait enough already. If anyone has an idea on how to pump it up a little more I'm open to suggestions. I know how the rest of this story goes...well except for Emmett's part but I've been slowly forming an idea on that. This chapter just...well Edward fought with me a lot on what happened. So enough from me here's the chapter.

Chapter 2

Edward lay on his couch thinking about the incident that had got him in trouble several weeks ago. It made sense now about all the things that had gone wrong that day. He just couldn't believe that Emmett and Jasper were the ones behind it. He frowned and thought of something else then, Alice had told him all those things would go wrong and that it would probably be better if he stayed home that day. She hadn't mentioned anything about Emmett and Jasper being involved, unless she knew and was protecting them. Jasper he could understand, he was her mate, but why protect Emmett?

The day was still fresh in his mind and he began to think about the small things that led up to his comeuppance at home.

~ Several Weeks Ago~

"If you don't hurry it up Edward, I'm leaving and then you'll have to find your own way to school!" Rosalie shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

"Keep your shirt on Rosalie; I'm trying to find something I'll be down in a minute," Edward called.

"You have 60 seconds. If you're not down here, I'm leaving," Rosalie said as she went to the garage, got in her car and started it up.

"What about Edward, Rosalie?" Alice asked.

"He has thirty seconds left. If he isn't in the car I'm leaving. He can figure out how to get to school on his own." She checked her watch and pressed the button to open the garage door. "Bye Edward!" she shouted as she pulled out and headed down the road.

Edward rolled his eyes as he heard his sister speed off. Didn't she realize he had his own car? He found the paper he'd been searching for, grabbed his backpack, and keys and went downstairs to the garage. He checked his watch and saw that if he drove a little over the speed limit, he'd just make it. He stared at his car when he walked in the garage and groaned. The front left tire was flat.

Luckily Rosalie kept spare tires in the garage for just such a thing and he quickly changed the tire. Once on the way to school he stared at the clock and pushed the car a little faster. He was never going to make it for the first bell if he didn't hurry. He pulled up in front of the school and got out just as the bell rang. "Great," Edward muttered to himself, "Carlisle's just gonna love this."

He walked inside and went to the office to pick up a late slip. He slipped into his first class and sat down.

"Well Mr. Cullen, nice to see you could join us today. Since you feel that you're privileged enough to walk in whenever you please, perhaps you would like to be the first to read their report," Mr. Carter said as he glared at Edward.

"Yes sir," Edward said as he looked through his book bag for the paper he'd been searching for this morning. He pulled the paper out and then put it back.

"Mr. Cullen we are waiting."

"Yes sir, it seems I grabbed the wrong paper and I don't have it," Edward said ignoring the snickers and whispers of the other students.

"I see well that will be a zero for the day then. If you don't bring it in tomorrow, I will give you half the points for it but you will not get full marks for it."

"That's not fair. I have it at home. I just grabbed the wrong one!" Edward shouted.

"Mr. Cullen, lower your voice this instant. Sit down and do not say another word for if you do, I will not even give you half points tomorrow."

Edward flopped down in the seat and glared at the top of his desk but didn't say a word. He glanced at the clock periodically watching the minutes tick by waiting for the bell that would release him from the torture.

When the bell finally rang, Edward was up and out the door before anyone else. He headed for the next class which was gym. Luckily for him his father had already told the school he had to be excused because of a medical condition. All he had to do was show up. He walked into the locker room and was surprised to be stopped by Coach Brenner.

"Cullen, you need to dress out today," he said as he stared at the teen.

"Uhm, may I ask why? I have a note in the office excusing me from participating in gym class," Edward stated.

"Yes I know that you do Cullen, but as you know I have a standing rule that you are required to dress out at least once a month. This is the last day of the month; you need to dress out, now go dress out."

Edward nodded and walked over to some lockers away from everyone else and unlocked it. He frowned when he saw that his clothes were missing. He checked his bag and groaned. He remembered Esme putting them on his desk last night. He shoved his bag in the locker, locked it and walked back over to the coach.

"I told you to dress out Cullen."

"Yes sir I know, but I don't have my gym clothes with me. I forgot them at home," Edward said staring down at the ground.

"Well looks like you're getting a zero for the day."

Edward growled softly, hoping that it sounded like a groan.

The rest of the day got progressively worse. When lunch came, Alice shook her head at him. "Edward you should go home. Go to the nurse, tell her you're sick and have Esme come get you. Jasper and I will bring your car home. This day isn't going to get any better for you if you don't."

"Alice I'm fine, just leave me alone."

Alice looked at the others who shrugged at her.

When the last class of the started, Edward figured his day couldn't get any worse. He sat down and prayed time would go by quickly. The teacher walked in and said, "Ok class we're having a pop quiz today, get your pencils out and put everything else away."

Edward let out a sigh of relief. A quiz he could handle. He was doing fine until he felt a slight nudge behind him. He ignored it and continued his quiz. He felt a harder nudge between the shoulder blades, turned and glared at the person behind him. "Knock it off," he whispered.

"Mr. Cullen there is no talking," came the stern tone of his teacher Ms. Martin.

"Yes ma'am, sorry," Edward answered and turned back to his quiz.

A few minutes later, he felt a nudge in his back again. He turned around to yell at whoever was behind him.

"Edward Cullen, please bring your test my desk now."

Edward clenched his unseen hand into a fist and then relaxed it as he stood up, grabbed his paper and walked to the teacher's desk.

"I told you no talking young man and then I find you turning around to copy your neighbor's paper. Give me your paper." Ms. Martin held her hand out for the paper.

Edward placed it in her hand and then tried to speak.

The woman held her hand up to silence him as she looked the paper over. To her surprise it was already finished. She looked up and noticed the whole class was watching them. She pointed to the boy that sat behind Edward and motioned him forward. "Bring your quiz with you," she said when she noticed he had left it behind.

Upon receiving the other student's paper, she looked it over and noticed it was only half finished. She eyed the two boys in front of her. "I had initially thought that Edward was copying your answers Stanly, but now that I've seen both papers, I see he was actually giving the answers to you. You both will receive a zero for this quiz," she said as she tore the papers in half and tossed them in the trash can by her desk.

"I am no cheat. He kept poking me and I was just telling him to knock it off," Edward explained through gritted teeth.

"And yet his answers matched yours. Go sit down gentlemen."

Stanly turned and went back to his seat. Edward stayed at Ms. Martin's desk.

"I didn't give him any answers. Check the tests again," Edward said clenching his fists by his side.

"I have already looked the tests over, go sit down or I will send you to the principal's office."

"You looked them over, you didn't look at the answers closely enough," Edward tried again.

"Grab your things and go to the principal's office now." Ms. Martin pointed a finger towards the classroom door.

Edward walked over to his desk, snatched up his bag and stalked out of the room. His footsteps thudded heavily down the hall. He swung the door to the office open a little harder than necessary, though luckily nothing broke.

"Hello Edward, what brings you here?" the secretary at the front desk asked.

Edward explained calmly why he was there and waited.

"Oh, uhm okay I'll let Mr. Bryant know you need to speak with him." The woman stood, knocked on the principal's door, then poked her head in and quietly spoke to the man. When she turned around and said, "You can go in Edward."

Edward nodded, stood up and went in shutting the door behind him.

"Have a seat Edward. I've heard you've been having some problems today. I haven't heard about your latest adventure, would you care to tell me about it?"

Edward knew his answer of "No I'd rather not" would not be acceptable. He explained again what had gone on in the classroom and what he had tried to explain to the teacher.

"I see, well I will have to send a note home with you. There were just too many things that seemed to involve you today. You are to take this and have one of your parents sign it. You are dismissed for the rest of the day and you are suspended for tomorrow as well."

"What? Why? What have I done that was so bad that I deserve a suspension for it?" Edward asked as he stood up.

"Sit down Edward. Well let's see you were late to your first class, you didn't have the proper materials for your first two classes, you were caught cheating in your last class and you shouted at not only the three teachers, you've shouted at me as well," Mr. Bryant stated as he clasped his hands together on the desk.

"I was late yes and yes I didn't have the proper materials for the first two classes, as of such I received a zero for the day. I don't think I should be punished a second time for the same thing. I did not cheat in Ms. Martin's class either. I have explained what went on. I believe if she had taken the time to look at both papers answers, she would've seen that mine were completely different from his."

"Mr. Cullen, take this note and go home. I also will be calling your parents to make sure they know what has transpired here today." Mr. Bryant picked up some folders and placed them in front of himself and began to write in them.

Edward stood, left the room and walked out of the school. As he drove home, he tried to go over in his mind what had gone wrong with the discussion with the principal.

He was glad Esme wasn't home. She had gone into town to gather some materials for a project she was working on. By the time she reached home, school would be out for the day. He wanted to delay any questions by either parent until he was ready. When he reached home, he went in and decided it was best just to stick the note on Carlisle's desk. That way Carlisle couldn't say he was trying to hide it from him.

He went to his room after that and began looking for the paper he had forgotten that morning, and also his gym clothes. He found the clothes on the chair instead of the desk where he was sure Esme had put them last night. The paper on the other hand was over by the computer.

Edward frowned at that. He was sure it wasn't there that morning. Is it possible I over looked it? He thought. He put both things in his bag making sure he had them for… suddenly he groaned. He was supposed to have the paper to Mr. Carter tomorrow or he wouldn't even get half the points for that class. He was sure he could get one of the other to bring it to school for him.

That evening, he was downstairs with the others. He was playing the piano when Carlisle came in the door. He smiled a little when he heard his mother greet him. He kept playing, even when he caught the stray thoughts from his siblings. His mother still had no clue that he had come home early, by the time she had gotten there the others were home as well.

A few moments later Carlisle ruffled his hair as he walked past on his way upstairs. Edward a word, please. Edward jumped and hit the wrong note as his father's words entered his head a few minutes later. He stood and went upstairs to father's study.

"Hey guys, there's a new store in the mall. Let's go check it out," Alice said as she bounded off the couch, dragging Jasper with her.

"That means Eddie's gonna get it," Emmett said and then immediately yelped and rubbed the back of his head. "What'd you do that for Rosie?"

"You know why, now let's go," Rosalie said as she pushed Emmett ahead of her out the garage door.

~ Present Day ~

Now looking back on the situation with what he now knew he realized that most of what had happened that day hadn't been his fault. He absently rub at his backside at what had happened. He knew Esme had put his gym clothes on his desk and now that he thought about it, they weren't on his desk when he left that day otherwise he wouldn't have forgot them. The paper he had grabbed by mistake shouldn't have been where he grabbed it from. He clearly remembered having the correct paper there. Also one of them must've driven his car the night before and had run over a nail or something causing his tire to go flat. The quiz incident had nothing to do with his siblings of that he was sure. Alice had known and hadn't bothered to tell him that it was his brothers were behind all the things that were going to happen to him. She had just told him to stay home.

He needed to get the three of them back. He knew he had to keep his decisions hidden though from Alice because if she got wind of what he was planning then his butt would end up in a sling again. An idea hit him. He knew how to get Alice back and it was perfect. He would later learn about a perfect way to get Jasper back as well. The only one left to think about would be Emmett.
