Author's Note:
Who's bad at updating regularly? THIS GIRL D:D
Sorry for the delay, but I've sort of been busy :P My teachers have assigned three big projects due not too soon for now, and this is my way of procrastinating – I mean taking a break. AHAHAHA :/
Also, will you guys check out my story, Back in Middle-earth! It's a sequel to my fail of a first fanfiction We're in Middle Earth! and I need all the feedback I can get on it. I really want it to be the best it can be, and the only way that will happen is if someone points out my mistakes.
Reviews:
She Elf of Hidden Lore: Lol, yup the Russia from Hetalia, and I'm glad you understand Alternate now:D
Mockingtale Bright: *Virtual hug* Thank you, I'm glad you understand what I was saying :D I will put down character development down on my to-do list
Aria Breuer: *Face-palms* Honestly, I think I'm going to go back on some chapters and add what I missed, because reading it now, I wish I would've covered more. I think that they should've put the Scouring of The Shire in the movie, too. It would've been awesome to see some Hobbit action, lol. Anywho, thank you once again, I really enjoy your input :)
DarylDixon'sgirl1985: Aww, thanks :3
Elves are awesome: Yes, yes they are XD Thanks, and no, I haven't read them, but I hear they're really good. I'll make sure to check out your stories later :)
Ghost: I don't know, I think it's all in preference. BU is easy to write in a sense that you have all you need to know write there, but I find it rather tiresome to leaf through the pages for information /shot/ Thank you :D
The M.H.T. of R: Ooh, what do the letters stand for? Lol, it's nice to be back :D
LightsCDark: I started laughing when I saw you say you thought Celebrian was Celeborn XD Thank you~~~
Fallarin: Thanks for posting your review, it's really helpful :D But I have never played the LOTR MMORPG, so I don't think I could explain what they offer and such D: I'll make sure to keep your review tabbed, because I loved the points you brought up – thank you once again :)
Midget: O_O …thank you for that disturbing image
Thank you guys so much for the reviews/favorites/follows! I love your feedback :D

Lord of the Rings Fanfiction Guide
Crossovers
Since so many people have been requesting this topic, I've decided to finally cover it. For those of you who don't know, a Crossover is a story that intertwines two fandoms into one fanfiction. Popular fandoms that crossover with the Lord of the Rings are Harry Potter, Inuyasha, Chronicles of Narnia, and Twilight to name a few. If you don't know how to get to the Crossover section of , just go to the regular LOTR archive and in the section bar above will have two blue arrows intertwining with the text 'Crossovers' next to it. Click on it, and it'll let you pick what fandom you wish to read.
Personally, I am not that fond of Crossovers, but my favorite is a Pokémon-Lord of the Rings fanfiction where a girl turns into a Pachirisu and is sent to Middle-earth (PM for link). I love it because it's unique and puts a whole new spin on a Girl-in-Middle-earth plot. But other than that, I usually stay out of Crossover areas unless I'm feeling particularly curious. It's not my cup of tea, because often enough I'll find problems with the plot. So I've spent my fair share of time skimming over Crossovers to refresh my knowledge of this subject.
Now, let's get on with the show.
First of all, please, please, PLEASE remember to label your fanfiction as a Crossover. This isn't as much as a problem in this archive, but I find it rather annoying when I'm looking for a nice one-shot and there's a summary on Harry and Ginny finding themselves joining the Fellowship. There's a reason that there's a whole other section for Crossovers!
However, you don't necessarily need to put your story in a Crossover if you're just referencing to another fandom. Say that you're writing a GIME and your character mutters about Legolas' similarities to Hawkeye, or she tells Merry and Pippin they remind her of Fred and George. As long as the other fandom isn't a key point in your plot, you can keep it as a regular Lord of the Rings fanfiction. It's only if the other fandom plays a large part in your story that it would be considered a real Crossover.
If you're writing a serious plot, really think about the aspects of whatever fandoms you're combining. What are the different morals in Lord of the Rings and Percy Jackson? How can you use the themes to your advantage? Are Frodo and Aragorn going to help Lucy on her quest, or will Aslan play as a helpful mentor to Merry? Don't make your plot too cliché, and try to make it interesting. Think of something that hasn't really been done before. Write about how the realms have clashed and the main protagonists argue about how to save their worlds. Since you have the choice of two stories, take your favorite elements and combine them.
If you're writing a crack/parody, how cracktastic can you make it? What ridiculous stereotypes can you use to have playful humor that will make your readers laugh until they cry? Crack/parodies definitely have the most artistic freedom. You're allowed to do anything you want to, because nobody's going to really take it seriously. But that doesn't mean you're allowed to butcher the characters entirely just for a giggle. Try not to insult either fandom – sometimes it's more difficult than you think.
In any fanfiction, you need to keep the canon characters in-character. Crossover or not, they should still be the same. The plot may change the characters a little, but they're still the same people. Just because Frodo met Pinkie Pie doesn't mean he'll start to poop out sunshine and rainbows. If Legolas meets Will Turner, he won't start to suddenly speak in pirate slang. That doesn't mean avoid character development, but don't completely change them. When one cast meets another, try to imagine what they would think of each other. Would they immediately become best friends, or clash before begrudgingly becoming allies? (NOTE: this doesn't essentially apply to crack/parodies, but they should consider it)
Also, make sure you know both the stories you're combining. Don't use a TV show just because you think you sort of know the characters. Do your research before you write, or you'll regret it. Some people (like me) are critical if you mess up their favorite part, forget something they love, or mess up a character. That's one of the reasons I don't care for Crossovers, because many authors only know one side of it, and barely know anything of the other. So please don't be one of those people.
*Random Story Time*
"Avada kedavra!"
Clem's head shot up, her hands finding their way to Russia's hilt. Her eyes narrowed to slits, and her jaw clenched. The vein in her neck stood up, a vicious growl coming from her throat. Eyes trained below, she watched as Hermione Granger clung to Boromir, attacking an Orc that came near him. Merry and Pippin stood behind them, tossing their rocks. Boromir blew his horn, slashing at the close-ranged Orc while the bushy-haired teen cursed the others.
"Not this time," Clem snarled.
On her seventy-third try, a Mary-Sue had killed the Uruk-hai who was supposed to kill Boromir. So she had to kill the Sue, and then kill Boromir herself… she didn't want to relive that again. That… that scarred her.
Letting out a war cry, she took a swing and clearly decapitated Hermione. The witch promptly disappeared, but it was too late. The Uruk-hai was already dead. Clem dropped Russia and stared at Boromir blankly. He continued to fight, and tears began to well in her eyes.
No… why? Why do I have to do this again? Her mind screamed.
Clem shook as she reached for her dagger, her hand holding it in a death grip. Taking a deep breath, with one quick, fluid motion, she sliced Boromir's tender throat with her now stained scarlet blade. Boromir's eyes widened and he fell, his eyes glazing over. Merry and Pippin let out screams of anguish, and Clem fell to her knees, sobbing.
I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!
