Their names were Theodora and Melina, the queens of Hearts and Spades. Both gave birth to two beautiful daughters. Genevieve and Redd Rose were born unto the Heart Suit family, destined to become the queens of wonderland one day. Gwendholyn and Titania were born unto the Spade Suit family, destined to be immortal.

Titania had cheated nature when she had her daughters. The tea of the Nubbleberry flower was the thing that had saved the lives of both the princesses and Melina. It was a rare flower only found in the heart of Outerwilderbeastia that had amazing effects on the life spans of people, so they gained the ability coveted by all of the suit families. They could make themselves young by stealing the years from the other Wonderlanders.

The Queen of hearts at the time of the princesses' birth was aware of the grim aftermath of children that were bred with Nubbleberry tea in their blood stream. Thankfully to her, Titania refused to kill anyone who wasn't a prisoner of the Crystal Mines.

Gwendholyn was not accepting of her sister. One day, she had had enough of hearing about the children in the mines, so she poisoned her dear sister with the juice of the Haban Berry. Emotion fled from her, and the Lady of Spades made sure that Gwen would never go to the Heart queendom. Even the Lady of Spades feared her own daughter.

Gwen influenced the young Redd, however. She made her evil and a user of Black Imagination, but as soon as Alyss Heart was born, her attitude was changed, and the dear girl had no idea what she was supposed to do. The rage that came from not knowing led to her deciding on one thing. She would have Alyss Heart as a daughter whether Genevieve was alive or dead.
