Kahlua had never been happier in her entire life. The warmth that came from Tsukune's body was just so relaxing. She had never felt so vulnerable but she did not care. Even though the cot was cramped and uncomfortable and the blanket was incredibly scratchy, she never wanted to leave his warm embrace. It was her new living paradise. Kahlua was enraptured by that beautiful and peaceful feeling. It soothed every inch of her body, comforted every worry in her soul and lit an uncontrollable fire in her heart. Kahlua's smile never faded. Of course she worried about the future, but right now, in this very moment, Kahlua was happy. She was free from her mother and had fallen in love. Kahlua knew she would have to let him go today, so she was going to have to make use of every second that he stayed with her.

Kahlua knew he would eventually leave, but maybe he would come back to her. She fervently hoped that one day they would be together forever. A true ending for a fairy tail and a princess. Kahlua had awaken before Tsukune. His breath on the back of her neck sent shivers down her body. The rising and falling of his chest matched her own. Kahlua rose without disturbing him. She knew he needed his rest. She quietly left his cell leaving the barrier up for now. Kahlua was already planning out the whole day she was going to spend with Tsukune. There was so much to do that she started planning for the next day and the day after that, if Tsukune was willing to stay that long.

Kahlua was getting more and more excited. She took a stroll threw her garden, listening to the birds musical chirps. The beautiful garden seemed even more gorgeous than before. It sprang with new life and brighter colors. Kahlua was incredibly delighted with the rich smell of the flowers. This would be the first place she would bring Tsukune. He had shared so many beautiful places with her, Kahlua thought that she should share one with him. She could already imagine them laying in the shade of the cherry blossoms, watching the soft pink petals floating with the breeze. She could not wait to be close to him again. To feel his arms wrap around her. To have just another sip of his delicious blood. Kahlua began blushing at the thought and hurried to get herself ready.

Kahlua wanted to spend all day with Tsukune, doing nothing and everything with him. Inside of her room she could not help but hug as many of her stuffed animals as she could. She giggled in joy as she washed herself in her bath. When she was ready she started heading back down towards Tsukune's cell. She bounded down the steps gracefully. When she reached the bottom step in the entrance hall she caught something out of the corner of her eye.

All of her instincts started screaming at her. Telling her not to turn around, that it was not real. That she should grab Tsikune and run. Kahlua had never felt so utterly terrified in her whole life. Her muscles refuse he'd to obey her commands. She wanted to scream but her voice had left her. The breeze that came in front the main door sent an icy chill down her spine. All of her dreams and the new life in her eyes vanished in an instant.

Eventually her body moved on its own. It turned towards her greatest fear and Kahlua Shuzen lost all hope at the sight of her mother, Gyokuro Shuzen. Every ounce of happiness and joy was crushed in an instant. Her temporary freedom was only a fantasy. She should have known better than to get her hopes up. Her mind instantly relapsed as she strode forward to greet her mother. She wanted to scream and cry in frustration.

She fell into pattern and greeted her mother. She could not control her body no more than she could change the stars. She kept her eyes down as the icy fear gripped her heat. It was only the smell of blood that brought her gaze upward. Gyokuro was holding a wound on her side that was bleeding badly. There was another deep cut across her shoulder and down the side of her leg. Gyokuro had been in a serious fight and had either barely won or barely escaped.

"Kahlua, bring me some blood." Gyokuro demanded.

Kahlua immediately followed her orders, to afraid to think of anything else. She brought Gyokuro four blood packs which she drank eagerly. As soon as she was finished she tossed the bags aside and stood up taller. Even severely injured she was still incredibly intimidating. Suddenly all of her thoughts turned towards Tsukune. She wished she had released him sooner. She had been so selfish and now there was nothing she could do. Her mother would most likely punish her for not letting Tsukune die. An intense miserable feeling filled Kahlua. Why had she been so selfish and not allow Tsukune his chance of freedom? Her mother might not have even noticed his absence. The tears began to well up as she blamed herself. Kahlua felt as if she had already delivered the killing blow herself.

"Dam Akuha and those brats!" Gyokuro said furiously.

"I'm going to kill them all! Starting with that human they all love so dearly!" Gyokuro said as she pushed herself forward.

The knowledge of Tsukune's imminent death put her mind, body and heart into action. She could not stand the thought of losing him. She had to do something. Kahlua ran and kneeled in front of her mother.

"No please mother don't kill him!" Kahlua begged her.

"Get out of my way!" Gyokuro shouted and struck her to the ground.

"No please, you can't. . .I love him." Kahlua said through the pain and misery.

"You, love him?" Gyokuro said turning around angrily.

She picked Kahlua up by the throat. Kahlua tried to free herself as her mother slowly squeezed the life from her.

"If you love him so much than you can die with him, and know that you sisters will soon follow!" Gyokuro yelled and struck out with her free hand.

Kahlua immediately coughed up blood as Gyokuro's strike went deep into her body. Gyokuro yanked her hand out savagely and threw her against the wall. Kahlua collapsed from the pain and coughed up more blood. Tears streamed down her face, knowing that everything that she loved in this world was about to end. That she would never be able to see Tsukune or her sisters again. Each one of their faces past through her eyes. Kahlua did not want to die like this, not knowing if her sisters would ever forgive her. She did not want to die without knowing if Tskune loved her or not. Kahlua Shuzen did not want to die alone.

The lack of blood was already affecting her vision as she watched her terrible mother make her way towards the dungeon. Tsukune was going to die because of her, but Kahlua knew that the first day they had captured him. It would have been easier if he had not survived that first day that she captured him. It would have been easier if she had not fallen in love with him. Things had not been easy on her and Kahlua was not going to die in fear, like she had lived her life. Everything her mother made her do filled her rage and every precious memory gave her strength.

Kahlua slowly pushed her self up. She numbed herself to the pain. The fire burned in her eyes as she looked in at Gyokuro. With what little energy she had left, Kahlua lunged at Gyokuro. Gyokuro barely had enough time to turn around as see her daughter's hand pierce her chest, through the center of her heart. Gyokuro could only look into the fury of her own daughters eyes as her own life faded from existence.

"You were never my mother." Kahlua said, the last words Gyokuro would ever hear.

Kahlua ripped her hand from her heart and let her collapse to the ground. It was finally over. Kahlua was free at last. Kahlua smiled knowing that she had protected the ones she cared about with her life. There was only one last thing she needed to do before she was ready to die. She had freed herself, but know she had to free Tsukune. She made her way down to the dungeon, one grueling step at a time. Kahlua was losing strength with every second that passed. She pushed on through the pain, with only one thing on her mind. All she wanted to do was see Tsukune one more time. To feel his warm embrace and see his gentle smile.

An eternity later she finally came to the door of the dungeon. She slowly opened the door. The second that her eyes feel on Tsukune, all of the joy and happiness from before returned stronger than ever. Only a few more steppes until she reached his cell. Her vision was going black and everything sounded so far away. Tsukune's face faded in and out of the darkness. She could see his lips moving but no sound came out. All Kahlua could do was smile. She at least got to see him one more time.

"Tsukune. . .I love you." Kahlua said and lowered the barrier for the last time.

She collapsed to the floor and everything faded to black and she drifted into her peaceful fantasies.

Three days Later

Kahlua Shuzen had never felt so at piece with herself and the world around her. Everything was so perfect and beautiful. She would do anything for it to never end. A place without fear or regrets. Surrounded by the people that she loved. A place where she could never be haunted by the evil deeds she had done throughout her life. The only thing that mattered was the present, and in the present, she was happy. It was like the most perfect and beautiful dream she had ever experienced, but eventually. . .she would have to wake up.

Slowly and reluctantly, Kahlua drifted away from her beautiful dreams back into the fears and regrets. A place with the harsh realities of life and the never ending struggle to achieve happiness. Kahlua slowly became aware of her surroundings. Every muscle in her body ached and her mouth had never felt so dry. The ends of her fingers and toes felt numb. She tried to open her eyes, but the bright light stung and caused her eyes to water.

She was laying on the most uncomfortable bed and the pillow was not much better. The blanket was so thin it barely did anything against the cold draft. A soft chirping noise drifted through the air. The muscles in her necks creaked in protest as she turned to look at the little blue bird sitting on the windowsill. She turned her head the other way to be greeted by a sea of brown matted hair.

"Tsukune?" Kahlua asked the still form.

Tsukune's head shot up alarmingly fast at the sound of her voice.

"Kahlua! How are you feeling? Can I get you anything?" Tsukune asked quickly.

"Thank goodness. . .thank goodness you are okay." Kahlua said smiling at him as the uncertainties washed away.

She could at least be happy that he was okay. Even if she did not know where she was or how she got there. She tried to sit up but winced slightly at the pain. She looked down at the bandages that covered her. It triggered flashes of her memories, that she would never forget. The exact moment she had gained her freedom.

"Here let me help you." Tsukune said eagerly.

Kahlua's blood started flowing again when she felt him wrap an arm around her and help her sit up. His closeness and his warmth was already bringing life back to her body. When he pulled away, he was so close she could see every ounce of worry carved into his face. It looked like he had hardly slept in days. His eyes remained solely focused on her. He was so tense. He did not move a single muscle, as if waiting for a command from Kahlua. It was at that moment Kahlua noticed his hand was placed firmly on her thigh. Her blood rushed to her face and Tsukune followed her gaze.

"Oh! Sorry, I um. . .how are you feeling?" Tsukune asked quickly removing his hand.

"Really thirsty." Kahlua muttered quietly.

"Here." Tsukune said immediately ripping at his collar, ripping the two top buttons out.

"Thanks, but can I just get a cold can of tomato juice?" Kahlua asked blushing at how easily he offered his blood.

"Of course!" Tsukune said, standing up quickly.

He looked around frantically before dashing for the door. He paused to make sure Kahlua was okay before he left the room. Of course Kahlua would have taken up his offer but she was so thirsty she was afraid she would drain him dry. Kahlua took the opportunity to take in her surroundings. She was in a small room in some kind of hospital. She could not see much out of the window except for a few dead trees. Next to her on the table was her silver tiara that she always carried with her. She picked it up and held it in her lap. It was one of the only ways that she was allowed to express herself. Now she hardly felt as if she needed it. It was still something she cherished, but was not needed anymore.

No one was there to tell her what to do anymore. Kahlua could do whatever she wanted. The possibilities were endless but for now she just wanted to take a long relaxing bath. Tsukune rushed back in the room and quickly sat by her side. He handed her the Tomato juice and Kahlua sipped it gratefully.

"Where are we?" Kahlua asked noticing some commotion outside of the room.

"We are at Youki Academy." Tsukune told her.

"So that means Akuha, Kokoa and Moka are here?" Kahlua asked in fear.

"Akuha is keeping the others away right now, but they have all been worried about you." Tsukune told her.

"Worried about me? But I was the one who took you away from them. They should all hate me" Kahlua said sadly.

"Kahlua, you protected and comforted me. You kept me alive and without you I would have gone insane. You were the only thing I looked forward to each day in that lonely cell." Tsukune told her sincerely.

Kahlua wondered how easily he could wash away her worries. His was so forgiving and so unconditionally nice. Suddenly her world did not seem so dark and lonely anymore. There was no doubt in her mind that she was in love with him.

There was a knock at the door and Tsukune got up to answer it. He opened it and a flood of people rushed in. She knew them all and had crossed a few on the battle field before. Before she could brace herself Kurumu tackled her on the bed full of tears.

"Thank you so much for what you've done for Tsukune, and thank you for bringing him back to us." Kurumu cried hugging her painfully tight.

"But I. . ." was all Kahlua managed to say in her state of shock.

"Oh Kahlua, I'm so glad you okay!" Moka cried as she took her turn hugging Kahlua.

Kokoa joined in, crying with Moka. Kahlua's own tears of joy started to fall as she hugged them both. Even Akuha was happy to have Kahlua back and she was pulled into the hug as well. It was the single happiest moment in her life. After they all wiped away their tears, Mizore was next to express her gratitude.

"Thank you so much. Without you we would have been lost." Mizore said as the cold snow woman hugged her.

"I always knew he would come back." Kurumu said.

"You cried just as much as the rest of us." Yukari said wiping her tears eyes.

"Thank you." Rubi said and quickly hugged her before checking her injuries.

"Um Tsukune? Do you think it would be okay if I had some of your blood now?" Kahlua asked, feeling embarrassed asking in front of so many people, but her thirst was to great to control.

"Of course." Tsukune said not noticing how quite the room had gotten.

He leaned forward and Kahlua wrapped her arms around him as she bit down into his neck. She could not hold back the pleasurable moan that escaped her lips when the delicious blood coated her tongue. The rest of the room stared on on shock but Kahlua did not notice. When she let him go he staggered to his feet. He had his usual smile, scratching the back of his head.

"A new competitor?" Rubi asked with a raised eyebrow.

"One that I would gladly compete with!" Kurumu said and tackled Tsukune to the ground locking her lips with his.

"Hey!" Moka said jumping over the bed to get to them.

"What are we competing for?" Kahlua asked in confusion.

"Tsukune's heart." Mizore told her simply.

I never thought this would be my first story I would complete. I just couldn't stop writing. It is shorter than I thought it would be but writing from one POV is a little hard. I am happy with this story and I hope you all enjoyed it too. It was definitely fun to write.

As you can see I could have easily made it a tragic, but I couldn't do that to Kahlua. Plus I never made any plans to make it a tragic story.

Now I might make a part 2 to this story, "Innocence in a Harem", but its just an idea right now. For the moment I am going to focus on my other stories and work on finishing some of those.

Thank you for reading and please leave a review for the chapter and the story as a whole. Your reviews are greatly appreciated.
