Chapter 21: It's Complicated

Planet Namek was crowded, full of warriors. All bunched together apparently they were attracted like moths to a bright light bulb.

Everyone in search of one thing only.

The dragon balls.

It seems the stronger you are the better chance you stand in finding all seven of them and right now our Earth heroes finds themselves totally outclassed.

"You mean Freeza was that small guy with the unreal power level?" Krillin asked for clarity.

Raditz only nods his head, the odds were totally stacked against them right now. He needs to get hold of his dad and tell him right away.

"Woman, can you contact the people on Earth again?"

"Uhmm... Hey I have a name you know and I think so. The radio-phone might..."

She was cut off by Raditz not interested in anything more she had to say.

"Good, now make sure Radix gets this message of Freeza on planet Namek so he can contact my dad and tell him to come here right away"

Bulma paused after being rudely interrupted. She only nods her head after seeing the seriousness on Raditz face.

"Look we have to do everything in our power to stop Freeza from making that wish. Let's follow them and see where they're heading, they might also have some sort of radar to locate dragon balls. With any luck we might find a Namekian which can help repair the ship."

Raditz instructed the two small Earth statures in front of him. He knows how dangerous Freeza was, but with some luck they might be able to steal one dragon ball and prevent him from succeeding in making his wish.

More than a year ago, Raditz wouldn't even thought of such dangerous ideas, the last year on Earth with Piccolo and Gohan really changed him.

Krillin gulped and Gohan eagerly nodded in agreement. The two Earth warriors were really terrified, but with Raditz here they feel a sense of confidence. They received the dragon radar from Bulma in case they came close to one dragon ball.

With their power levels low and with incredible stealth they set of after Freeza's army.

Bulma was left alone without so much as a goodbye, wondering what she was supposed to do. She slowly and wearily travelled inside the cave and surprisingly it opened up more the deeper she went.

Since the space was so much more open inside the cave she tossed out one of her capsules and a mini house magically appeared.

She quickly set up the radio-phone and contacted Master Roshi to give him the message Raditz left for Radix. She also filled him in on the spaceship problems and that they needed help asap.

(On Earth)

Goku and Radix was making huge amount of healing progress. The saiyan bodies sure was one tough nut to crack and with so much potential the healing process was sped up much faster than the ordinary human.

Radix appreciated the wonderful food he received from Chi Chi and quickly grew fond of the black haired woman's cooking.

Goku and Chi Chi was getting along famously again. Goku felt sorry for not paying to much attention to his family, but the Earth was at stake. He had to help the people of Earth or they wouldn't stand a chance against the past invaders.

Goku would still try to sneak out of bed to practice his body. Radix would always remind him of how wrong that was, because if Chi Chi finds out they might not receive food from her anymore. Chi Chi was aware of Goku's silent practice sessions and was not impressed. She threatened him if she finds out, she wouldn't cook food for them anymore.

One afternoon they was visited by Master Roshi.

A nurse was busy checking up on the two saiyans. As she was about to leave and Master Roshi entering the room, he grabbed on the nurse's behind. The young nurse yelped and jumped around. Roshi only apologised saying he speaks with his hands. The nurse quickly got out of the old perverts way and as far away from him as possible.

He gave a sheepish laugh after taking his chances with the nurse. As soon as he entered the room his facial expression change to a more serious form.

"Goku how does the healing goes?"

"The doctor said a couple of weeks and we can leave the hospital"

"To cut to the chase boys, I have some news from Namek."

"Is Bulma on her way? I can't wait to leave."

"I am sorry Goku, but things are more complicated now. There's a power level far more stronger than Vegeta's and the guy with the huge power level have already four dragon balls in his possession. Bulma won't be returning either, their ship got blown up."

"... What? Oh no Gohan... That's some real bad news Master Roshi"

"Oh and Radix. Raditz left a message for you, he wants you to contact his dad to tell him to come to Namek right away, because a guy named Freeza was on planet Namek"

Radix shot up from the bed at the mention of Freeza's name. He was still in pain, but he didn't care.

'Freeza' he kept thinking over and over again, was this really happening? It was way too soon, would Bardock be able to defeat Freeza now?

He looked at Master Roshi and thanks him for the message. Master Roshi was right, everything was complicated now, not only does Vegeta pose a threat, but he pales in comparison with Freeza.

Radix never met Freeza or experienced his power beforehand, but once Revlo contacted them about Freeza's power.

He said something about a million.

He only hung his head over picked up the scouter and started recording a voice transmission for his mentor.

"Bardock, it's me Radix. Raditz and some of the Earth people are stuck on Namek they can't return, the spaceship was blown up. And... Uhm... Freeza is also on the planet and has already four dragon balls. Raditz requested your help as soon as possible."

With that he cut the transmission and fell back to the bed. He was left to his own thoughts, Master Roshi and Goku still talked after that.

After a while Master Roshi left and Goku noticed Radix's attitude. He turned towards his fellow saiyan and wondered how he was going to approach this situation.

"Yo Radix, what seems to be the matter, you haven't said a word since you got the message from Master Roshi?"

"Oh sorry, I was thinking about this Freeza guy. You weren't there at the time, but he was the one who destroyed the saiyan planet. Myself, Beetru, Revlo and Bardock barely managed to escape. I was about eleven years old back then and it has been over twenty years now. I can't believe the time has come that we have to face him already."

"Woh. So this Freeza guy destroyed all of the saiyans, that's a terrible thing to do. He must be very strong?"

"Bardock, your father, said he was afraid of the saiyans growing to powerful to control. I don't really knew much back then about this planet trade organisation. From what I can tell was that the saiyans eradicate the planet of every inhabitant and Freeza would sell the planet to other civilisations or keep the planet for its resources."

"This Freeza sounds like a terrible person. How's my dad like?"

"Bardock? Oh he saved my life you know, me and my sister and another alien Revlo. You'll have to find out yourself what kind of person he is. He often talks of you. From my experience with him, he treated us like family. He once even risk his own life to protect me and my sister even though his main goal was to defeat Freeza one day. No offence or anything, but I consider him like a father to me."

Goku didn't responded he felt mix emotions inside of him. His father sounds like an amazing guy someone who you can really count on. He wondered if Gohan felt the same way about him, was he a father figure to his only son.

"I see. Sounds like a great man."

The reply was kind of sad coming from Goku.

"You were a big deal in Bardocks life even though you never met him, he kind of had visions of you, and it was through that visions Bardock became a changed man."

Goku felt better after that last comment from Radix. Radix sensed Goku felt disappointed about something so he felt enticed to cheer up his saiyan brother.

Goku smiled and laid down to get some rest for the afternoon, Chi Chi should be arriving soon.

(Out in space)

Beetru and Bardock was on course to planet Earth when Bardock received another encrypted transmission.

He woke from stasis mode pressed the button on the side of the scouter.

"Bardock, it's me Radix. Raditz and some of the Earth people are stuck on Namek they can't return, the spaceship was blown up. And... Uhm... Freeza is also on the planet and has already four dragon balls. Raditz requested your help as soon as possible."

Bardock felt his whole body stiffen. This can't be happening already, he needs to make sure Beetru would be okay he can't leave her and go to Namek.

'But... My son needs my help'

He woke Beetru through a communication link.

"Beetru? Bee? Wake up!"

She slowly opened her eyes and deactivated her stasis mode.

"What is it? Time to take my vitamins and minerals again?"

"No, something more serious Bee. I don't want to leave you when we are so close to Earth. Listen to this message that Radix send me a few minutes ago.

He played the message through the space pods communication system.

She kept quiet for a moment.

"So what are you gonna do? I mean Raditz needs your help Bardock, don't worry I'll be fine. Do what you have to do. The people on Earth was real nice to Radix and Raditz so they'll surely help me out."

"Thanks Bee for understanding."

He gave a low growl which indicated his affections for the saiyan mistress. She welcomed it with a smile even though he can't see it, but he can definitely imagine it.

Bardock rewrote his coordinates to planet namek.

Planet Namek was on the way to Earth so he'll make a Early landing than Beetru.

Planet Namek 8 days till arival.

(Planet Namek)

Cui landed near the location of Vegeta. He was hot on his trail, he now had the right to attack Vegeta, because of his traitorous act against Freeza's orders.

He attacked Vegeta from behind with a powerful punch, but Vegeta easily dodged his sneak attack.

"Luck sure was on your side dodging my attack."

"Luck had nothing to do with it Cui."

"Is that right, you can barely keep up with my power level. How long has it been Vegeta since you vowed to be stronger than me? That's right all your life. Face it Vegeta, you can never defeat me. This wil be your last battle."

"Poor Cui, still relying on a scouter to predict an outcome of a battle. I guess it's time to show you something new. While you always stuck at the side of Freeza, boasting about your power level, I seek out battles to hone my skills and acquire new techniques. If I were you, I'd watch my scouter closely."

"What are you talking about?"

With a smile Vegeta widened his stance and raise his power level which send the numbers on Cui's scouter raising through the roof.

Vegeta hadn't quite got the technique under control, but he mastered the basics. He can lower his energy signature and raise it at will.

When the numbers reach 22 000 it exploded and the smuck look on Cui's face changed.

(Elsewhere)

"Lord Freeza it seems Vegeta has openly betrayed you. He is now locked in a battle against Cui."

After a while Zarbon's scouter also exploded and was overload by Vegeta's energy signal.

Dodoria sets his newer model scouter and was surprised to find Vegeta's power signal at 24 000.

"Lord Freeza, Ve...Vegeta he has a power level of 24 000. His even stronger than me and Zarbon."

Dodoria gulped at the amount of Vegeta's power it was baffling how he could have gotten this strong so fast.

"Oh Dodoria, stop wetting your pants, if you and Zarbon team up together he won't stand a chance against the two of you. Now stop wasting my time and get me to the next dragon ball. Once we have all dragon balls we'll wipe this planet clean then now one can make a wish after mine."

With Freeza's last words they were almost at the next village.

(Vegeta and Cui)

Cui seeing he stand zero chance at Vegeta decides to go with another plan.

"Vegeta why are we fighting each other, I finally realize, since you want to get rid of Freeza and I want to get rid of him we can team up. Imagine both of us together we can take down Zarbon and the Dodoria easily. So what do you say Vegeta?"

"Why the sudden change in motives Cui, Fear starting to creep in that fish head of yours?"

Vegeta slowly advances while Cui leans back trying to get distance between them, but he doesn't wnt to give Vegeta the indication he was scared of him. He suddenly had another idea.

He quickly shifts his attention behind Vegeta's back. This also got Vegeta's attention.

"Hey look Freeza's right behind you!"

Vegeta fell for the trap and Cui jumped in the air and then fired a relentless amount of volley blasts.

A medium sized dome of energy appeared around the location of the volley blasts. Cui charged a last blast with extra amount of energy as a finishing blow.

It collided in the center of the dome and with that last impact a huge explosion took place and this created a medium sized crater on the surface of planet Namek.

After the dust settles and no sign of Vegeta was traceable, Cui appeared victorious.

"Ha! I can't believe the idiot fall for such a cheap trick. That will teach you Vegeta's always wanting to act so cocky."

"Really?"

"Wait what? Who said that?"

"Cui, you must see by now. You don't stand a chance IDIOT" Vegeta said standing on the opposite side of Cui.

"But how? You should have been finished."

This time Cui can't hide his fear for the saiyan prince. He backed up slowly as Vegeta just keep staring dead at him.

"You see Cui, saiyans have this unique ability to have a boost in power when we suffer near death experiences or extensive amount of damage and recover from that condition. So I guess I've surpass you by quite a lot. Don't worry I won't make the same mistake, this time there won't be anymore delay in your trip to the Other World."

Cui turned tail to run, but stumbles on his way back and then started to dash away from Vegeta.

He really increased the gap between him and his oncoming doom, but in a slit second Vegeta caught up to him.

With a hard elbow to the stomach, Cui doubled over. Vegeta followed it up with a right uppercut which send Cui flying into the air.

Vegeta then pointed with his index finger in Cui's direction and an invisible technique made Cui totally explode.

"Mm.. Rival"

'Okay with the nuisance out of the way and Freeza surely picking up my energy signal through the scouters I need a plan and fast. If Freeza needs 7 dragon balls, all I need to do is find one and hide it and this will keep him from making the wish then I'll just have to steal the others from him. Oh and to deal with Zarbon and Dodoria, I need to get them both alone, together I don't stand a chance. Beware Freeza the time has come when the saiyans finally strike back.'

Vegeta lowered his power level and took of in the direction of a group of power levels which he located on his scouter, probably a group of Namekians.

(Somewhere else on Namek)

Gohan, Krillen and the full blooded saiyan Raditz silently follows the massive swarm of soldiers.

The were certainly heading to a village or some sort, because in the distance Gohan can spot aome sort of structures.

The Earth heroes flew up to a hill near the small village where they were totally out of sight, but can still see what goes on down on the ground. They were well placed behind the backs of Zarbon, Dodoria and Freeza so the chances would be scares that anyone can spot them.

Raditz points out that Freeza is in charge and sensed his power level from up close.

"Wow, I can't believe I used to work so closed to someone with that kind of power, now that I can practically feel it."

"For such a small person to have such a huge power level it's incredible." Krillin pointed out with a soft whisper.

Gohan kept his vision straight on the three huge power levels.

Dodoria tilt his head quickly in the direction of Gohan and the others. With incredible speed they duck and hope they were not detected.

"What's wrong Dodoria, something on your scouter?" Freeza casually enquired.

"No, it's nothing Lord Freeza a very weak power level surfaced, but disappeared again. Maybe a bird or a rodent of some sort."

A sigh of relieve came from all the three warriors over the ridge.

"That was close" Krillin said.

The culprit was Raditz, he was not going to make that same mistake again to let his power level slip out of his control.

After a short while they raised their heads again to see what was going on.

Right then a soldier came walking toward Freeza, but they couldn't hear what he was saying.

"Lord Freeza five individuals were located inside the buildings"

While the one soldier informed Freeza another one with an arm-blaster threatened the Namekians to come out of their shelters.

Three older Namekians and two children of their race can be seen, being pushed out of their homes, while they reluctantly had to follow the soldiers orders.

Gohan and Raditz was astonished at the appearance of the Namekians.

"They looked exactly like Piccolo, no wonder," Raditz added.

(On Earth)

Goku and Radix was taking an early nap, when they were abruptly disturbed by a new visitor.

"Yajirobi? Alright about time for some senzu beans." Goku happily exclaimed.

Radix also felt the same happiness. He had already experienced the healing powers of this magical been beforehand.

The doctor inside the room was really curious, what kind of beans was they talking about.

"Don't feed my patients anything weird young man" the doctor scolded Yajirobe when he handed Goku a bag of senzu beans.

Yajirobe ignored the doctor and continued with his actions.

"That's all I am good for these days a senzu bean delivery boy."

Radix listen to Yajirobi's statement and offered him to accompany them to Namek.

Yajirobi quickly disappeared in his aircraft, making excuses of having a lot of work back at Korin's Tower.

The two saiyans both popped a been down their throats and like magic, they were healed. They discarded all bandages and casts.

They both jumped inside their respective garments and before Chi Chi could even get to the room they were gone.

She only got their in time to find a flabbergasted doctor staring in the direction of the window, where the two warriors disappeared over the horizon.

The two saiyans was on their way to Capsule Corp. It appears that breakthrough in technology has sped up the process of the spaceship that Dr. Briefs and the Capsule Corporation Team was working on.

The reality was they were close to finishing it. Dr. Brief was still putting on the finishing touches.

Goku and Radix upon their arrival quickly chipped in to assist the hard working team.

"Goku could yo go fetch the tape so I can measure the space for the espresso machine." Dr. Brief asked the younger saiyan while he watched a vacant space inside the huge spaceship.

The ship had its own training facilities, which were requested by Goku since the word got to them about power levels even stronger than Vegeta.

"What? Is it really necessary? How long till the ship can be up ready to move?"

"Actually its flying capabilities was finished two days ago."

"What?!"

The exclamation was loud enough to draw everyone's attention.

"I am sorry Dr. Brief but we don't have time for a coffee machine, our friends are in trouble we need to get there right away."

"Okay if you insist."

Dr. Brief explained the controls to Radix and Goku. Goku didn't focused he just assumed Radix got it all noted down.

"Remember don't adjust the gravity settings to high or you will get crushed under the pressure."

"Got it!" Both saiyans said simultaneously.

Without any further a due the newly crafted spaceship left Earth's atmosphere in a couple of minutes.

Puar and Oolong joined the Capsule Corp. Team alongside Dr. Briefs as they watch the ship travel out of their sight.

"Look at them, they must really be in a hurry. Did they even pack clothes for the trip?" Puar asked as they watch the disappearing object.

"Well, I wouldn't know, but they sure won't enjoy a refreshing cup of coffee every morning." Dr. Brief concluded and then took a sip of his own mug of coffee afterwards.

(On an unknown planet)

"So tell me Nappa how does it feel, all that power running through your veins?"

Turles asked Nappa on a desolate planet which was full of life a few days ago.

Nappa only looked at his body in amazement. He then smiled like he was going to go rob a bank.

"That's right, still think we don't stand a chance against Vegeta? We still need more power though. I want to crush him with mentally and physically.

With a last glance at the planet, the two saiyan warriors head for their space pods.

Who knows where their heading next, one things for sure it won't have any good effects on the universe.

AN: Sorry another long period before an update.

I am kind of sick so I have to focus on getting better so in my free time I will write chapters and post them.

I wonder if the story is still interesting, because I have a short spin-off story about Radix which will happen after the Namek saga, but that still in the future, it will depend though if readers really likes this story.
