Chapter Fourteen, Epilogue

Sirius could not believe this day had come. Today was the day Harry was off to Hogwarts and he had rather mixed feelings about it. He was happy as Harry would get to make friends other than Draco and Neville, he could learn magic and all sorts of things but he was also saddened as his little boy would be away from him for months at a time and would only see him during the holidays.

"Daddy I promise to write every week and I'll come back at Christmas. I wound write every day but it wouldn't be fair to Hedwig no matter how much I want to." Harry said hugging Sirius tight around the waist as Sirius held his son tightly to him.

"I know Pup I'll just miss you so much but I want you to know that no matter what house you go in you'll always be my son and I will always be proud of you. Okay?" Sirius asked kneeling down in front of his son, who was still shorter than he should be thanks to the Dursley's who were now rotting away in prison.

"You promise?" Harry asked suddenly nervous.

"Of course Harry." Sirius assured brushing some have out of Harry's eyes. Ever since he had blood adopted Harry, he no longer had to wear glasses like James, his hair was now curly like Sirius taking the Potter hair a little and there was a ring of silver around his pupil making the green stand out more.

"When have I ever broken a promise to you?" Sirius asked.

"Never." Harry answered a small smile on his face.

"Exactly, and I'm not about to start now. I love you Harry you are not only my Godson but you are my son. And I love you, Always." Sirius said kissing Harry's forehead.

"Always." Harry agreed wrapping his arms around Sirius' neck. "I love you too daddy." The two shared a hug in the hallway for a while only to be interrupted by Remus coming down the stairs. Cassiopeia, Arcturus and Pollux had past away peacefully in their sleep a few years ago. Cassiopeia and Pollux two years ago, a few months apart and Arcturus last year.

The family who had come together because of Harry and had become closer than they ever were, had been greatly upset at the passing away of their loved ones especially Harry. But they all remained close and had helped each other through it, becoming even more closer. They constantly reminded Harry that though they are gone they're still with them in their hearts and they loved him, all of them greatly which seemed to help Harry. Who was now heir to the Black family as Sirius was now Lord Black.

"Come on you two we need to leave otherwise we're going to miss the train." Remus said shrinking Harry's trunk placing it in his pocket so they only had to carry Hedwig, his snowy owl familiar in her cage.

"Remus." Harry cried running to hug the werewolf tightly startling a laugh out of the man.

"Harry you're going to see me at Hogwarts." Remus laughed as Minerva had made him the DADA Professor and Head of Gryffindor, Ted Tonks was the Transfiguration Professor. Sirius had taken his old job again as Auror along with Nymphadora who was in training and Andromeda and Narcissa were Healers.

"I won't get to hug you though." Harry said sadly. "And daddy is going to be all alone."

"Harry I'm going to fine. Andromeda, Nymphadora, Narcissa and Lucius are around here so often that I'm not going to be alone. I'm going to be just fine. And they're meeting us on the Platform to see you and Draco off, now we better go." Sirius said kissing his son's head. He still couldn't get over how emphatic Harry was after everything he'd been through.

As soon as they arrived on platform 9 and 3/4 twenty minutes later they were surrounded by their family who hugged Harry tightly with good wishes and muttering of missing him when they heard a shout behind them.

"Harry!" Turning around they spotted Neville running over to them his grandmother walking further behind him calling after him to slow down. But the young boy didn't listen as he hugged his younger God-brother tightly before he greeted Draco with small hug.

"Neville I told you to slow down." Lady Longbotton reprimanded once she joined them Neville's trunk and cafe with his toad floating behind her.

"And you left this at home." She said handing him his wand, (she was planning to have him use his father's wand before she remembered that the wand chooses the wizard and got him his own wand a cherry wood, unicorn tail wand at 10 inches). "Good job I picked this up before we left," she said watching as he put it in the inside pocket of his robe. Once fee was sure he had put his wand away properly she greeted all of the adults and the children before the three first years had a conversation with Tonks about Hogwarts whole the adults who were not working at Hogwarts made plans to have tea that weekend.

"Harry come say goodbye the whistle is going to blow in five minutes." Remus called interrupting the conversation. Harry quickly hugged Dora tightly than made his way around all of his family even Lady Longbottom before he hugged Remus tightly than, ending with his dad.

"I'm going to miss you daddy." Harry whispered while Remus, Ted and Lucius put Harry's, Draco's and Neville's trunks, toad abs owl in a carriage on the luggage rack.

"I'm going to miss you to puppy." Sirius said tears in his eyes that he refused to let fall in front of his son but wanting him to get anymore upset. "But as you said you'll see me every holiday and you can write to me every week and you can also speak to me every day if you wanted, with this." Sirius said handing him a wrapped parcel out of his pocket.

"It's a two way mirror all you have to do is say Sirius Black and I'll be able to talk to you. I'll always keep mine on me and will always answer unless I'm at work." Sirius promised. "And you know you can still hug Remus when you're in his office. During school hours of course you won't be able to but you know he'll always make time for you. I love you Pup."

"I love you too daddy." Harry said kissing his dad's cheek just then the whistle blew and Sirius quickly helped his son into the carriage with Draco and Neville.

Watching him wave a small smile on his face as he was filled with mixed emotions. Sirius continued to wave to his son until the train pulled out of the station completely making it's long journey up to Scotland. Sirius knew then he had made up for his mistake for not being there for Harry in the first place but since he got him back he had sworn to himself he would never let him go again. He was so proud of his son and knew Lily and James would be too.

"Lily, James if your watching. Harry is one amazing little boy and I'll cherish him forever and always." Sirius whispered as the steak from the train disappeared from the platform.

Harry was free from the grief and horror of his past and that is his Sirius wanted it to stay. All those who had wished Harry harm were gone, he was well and truly safe. He was safe and loved. And that's how it remained.
