Author's Note: Pssst! Do you hate me? Can you ever forgive me? I hope so because I have returned once again, my loves, from Hiatusland. My muse comes and goes and I deeply apologize for the inconvenience. I just can never abandon you or this story. Klebekah forever, ya'll!

She had to give credit when it was due. He knew how to dance. With a gentle hand on her hip, Nik whisked her around like an expert.

Rebekah took note of how his eyes never left hers. She could see adoration in those bright blue hues. She had to look the other way to avoid tripping on her own feet. There was no hiding the blush on her face, however.

"You look lovely." He said, breaking the silence. The hold he had on Rebekah's waist tightened once she glanced up at him. Nik forgot how wonderful she was. The softness of her skin, the freckles decorating her cheeks. He even marveled at the way her eyelashes fluttered.

She whispered a thank you, except Nik did not hear it. He became blind to the audience surrounding the two as well. In that moment, all the boy could do was dance with his sister. Until the music was at its end, he held her close to his chest, placing a chaste kiss to her forehead every so often.

Flowers were thrown to the couple's feet, cheers ringing in the air. Rebekah could not recall a festival where the reaction was this positive. For the first time, she was at a loss for words.

A hand, Nik's hand, caught hers and pulled her away. She didn't have time to react or even shout because soon enough, they were under a tunnel by a creek. Her body shivered as they hid in the shadows, the music from the village now softer and far off.

"Nik-"

"We have to leave." This was not an offer but a command. The joyfulness he had a short time before had changed into a panic. Niklaus could not keep still, pacing like a madman.

Confused, Rebekah huffed, stepping in her brother's way to catch his attention. He thought aloud and spewed nonsensical things that were impossible to decipher. But a word stood out from the rest.

Choice.

"You're scaring me." She said in a last attempt to bring her brother back.

Niklaus blinked, staggering back as if he had been slapped. "I'm sorry."

They did not speak for a moment- neither knowing what to do. It was Rebekah who stepped closer. "Nik, what's the matter?" She spoke carefully, stretching out a hand to touch his face. He leaned into her palm and breathed. It was all the girl had to do to get answers.

"The meeting with Tatia…I did not attend. I left while father's back was turned to run to you." He inhaled before continuing. "I've made a choice, Bekah. I choose you." He stood tall now, squaring his shoulders with his chin raised high. There was a newfound confidence, one he did not expect to have. Like a bolt of energy, Nik grabbed Rebekah's face and peppered her with kisses.

"You are all I want." He said between each peck. "Only you."

Her breath was taken away and despite never wanting to stop, she pulled back. "But…father. Nik you should not make hasty decisions. Not one like this."

She expected common sense would change his mind. Or at least make him weary. But he only raised a brow, waving a hand in the air as if to dismiss the comment.

"If we run, we won't have to worry of Mikael." He cupped Rebekah's cheeks again. "We won't live in fear anymore."

The idea was intriguing. A life where they could be together. They'd start over- they'd have a chance to be whatever they wanted. It was almost a dream. A dream the young girl wanted so desperately.

But a question remained.

"What about Elijah? And Kol, Finn. What about the rest of our family?"

Nik held both of her hands in his, dipping his head to kiss her. "Do you trust me?"

She didn't hesitate, nodding as their foreheads touched. "Yes."

"Good." He led her out of the tunnel and into the afternoon sun. "We must leave now. But Bekah, I swear to you, our family will be whole again."

Now Rebekah started to panic. She ripped away from his side, cowering back. "We have to say goodbye. I will not leave if I do not say my farewells." Her breaths were shortening as realization hit. She might not ever see her mother and brothers again. They would be heartbroken or worse- resentful. They would all grow to hate her. It was a nightmare to even think about.

Niklaus kept her from falling to her knees, helping the frail girl up. "We will be together when the time is right. Have faith, sister."

But those were just words. And Rebekah was afraid to leave on an empty promise.

Things are getting intense. Why can't I just let them be happy? (whoops) Next up is Bekah's decision! Will she choose Nik? You'll have to find out. Tell me what you think of this chapter. I know it's a bit short but I haven't slept in a few days. Oops! I appreciate the feedback and love and support. It inspires me (; I really am grateful for you guys. Until next time, loves. Xoxo
