Red is the sultan.

He is the master of the court, he looks over everything. He has control over the armies that line up outside at times, that he sees marching through the high sands, has control over the people that reside within his court, royal or not. The black-haired, crimson-eyed master who is often silent, yet looks over everything with a harsh glare. Calculating, cold, subtle. Many words describe him, but they are limited. They do not dig under the surface of who he is. They are just that - words. And Red has never been talented with them.

So he doesn't mind, if only because he doesn't particularly care for words. He sits, bored, on his throne, chin in palm, waiting for the one thing that will tickle his fancy, the one that will encourage him to speak perhaps. One that will make him act.

As unlikely as it seems, it comes in the form of a man - but it's not any man. It's a green-eyed, wild-haired dancer who is presented with the others as means of entertainment. Red has seen dancers before, their shapely hips, their beautiful faces, but this man calls to him in a way that no other has before. He has a fierce beauty to him, he realizes as he dances, hips swaying in the typical seductive fashion for the sultan. Even under his smooth facade of calm, there is a spark in his eyes, a look to his face, a slight stutter in his gait that suggests he does not want to be here on display, for a man no less.

Red watches, his eyes hungrily absorbing every action, every step taken, every shake to the music playing steadily in the background. The other dancers that are with the brunet are soon forgotten as the dark-haired man focuses solely on what he wants, no, what he needs. Red glances at the man sitting beside his throne, and gestures toward the tall dancer who has captured his interest so easily. The man smiles in a slightly feral way. "His name is Green," he says smoothly, and the sultan cocks his head.

Odd. Both colors, complimentary when put together.

Later that night, he requests the boy to be sent to his room.
