Izaya walked slowly down the streets of Ikebukuro. The rain pounded against his face, but he didn't care. His soul was broken, his heart empty. Izaya walked, he didn't know where he was going, only that he never wanted to stop. Finally Izaya looked up, and realized where he was. He stopped and stared, the pain in his chest tripled, as he saw what street he was on. Shizuo's apartment lay just ahead. And, to twist the knife in deeper, the light was on. Shizuo was home. Izaya began walking toward Shizuo's place, his feet pounding loudly across the wet pavement, stopping just short of the building's door. Izaya stared up at Shizuo's window, unsure of what to do next. There was no doubt in his mind that he wanted to see Shizuo, but the thought of Shizuo rejecting him, maybe even killing him in rage, was more than he could bare. All these thoughts raced through Izaya's mind when, with a sharp blinding pain, his world turned dark.

Izaya opened his eyes, but everything was still dark. He tried to move, but his hands were bound to what felt like a chair.

"Finally, you're awake."

Izaya jerked his head away from the voice next to his ear.

"Who are you and what do you want? I'm in no mood for games."

The man laughed, his breath hot on Izaya's neck.

"Who I am is of no importance, a simple messenger from the the Blue Squares. As for what I want, it's rather simple. To hurt you of course."

Izaya closed his eyes from the blinding light as his blindfold was removed. Once his eyes had adjusted, Izaya couldn't believe what he saw. Chained to the wall opposite him was his blond haired brute, looking more broken and bloodied than Izaya had ever seen. Izaya struggled against his restraints, his mind exploded in pure rage.

"Shizuo! I'm gonna kill you for what you've done to him!"

The man laughed loudly, the sound echoed off the walls of the small room.

"Kill me? You really are naive. You'll die from blood loss before you even get one arm free."

With that, the man picked brought the knife he had been holding up to Izaya's face, grazing his cheek slightly. Blood oozed from the wound and Izaya winced in spite of himself.

"I'm going to cut you into tiny ribbons, then I'll finish off your lover over there."

The man slashed Izaya again, this time across the chest making the cut considerably deeper. Izaya cried out in pain. The man laughed again, but was soon cut off by the sound of straining metal. Izaya looked to the sound, his heart leaping as he saw what was causing it. Shizuo was struggling, trying desperately to pull the chains out of the wall. The man cursed softly, he couldn't believe Shizuo was still able to move after the beating he gave him. Raising his knife, the man swung his hand down full force, but right before the blade connected with Shizuo's flesh, the chains snapped, sending Shizuo flying into him. Izaya, watching all this unfold, was now staring at the blond haired brute waiting, praying for him to move. Both men lay on the ground, neither moving a muscle. Izaya's heart pounded in his chest. He wanted to scream out, beg Shizuo to move, but he couldn't find his voice. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Shizuo's body shifted, then slowly, he rose to his feet and made his way to Izaya.

"What took you so long?"

Izaya's vision blurred as tears stung his eyes, "I thought you left me."

Shizuo stroked Izaya's face lovingly, "That's impossible. You've tamed my body, and I gave you my heart."

Shizuo pressed his lips against Izaya's sharing a soft, passionate kiss. Then, with one hand, snapped Izaya's chains. Breaking the kiss, Shizuo pulled Izaya onto his back and made his way out of the room.

"Shizuo, promise me you'll never leave me."

Shizuo chuckled lightly, "A pet never leaves his master. Nor his life partner."
