Just some drabble writing. I'm not really sure how to write Alice's or Narumi's personality well, so probably, everything seems out of character. It's all in second person as well, just for some practice.

Enjoy!

(Man asks in regard, where does the world end?) - the plain flower hears all.

.

The boundaries of man is limited to living - and dying.

That is a fact of the universe. It is not a belief that you 'share' in any sense - truth is truth, and as such, it is imprinted onto the pages of history like the jolted notes of God's swirling, prismatic handwriting on his memo pad. But it is only his eternally endless existence that is allowed to read those words again and again, however he wishes and as long as he desires.

After all, man has been banished from the garden simply for eating the fruit of knowledge. It is fact, or else, you would have never existed in the first place. As is so many thousands of others.

...

He is like a simple, common goldfish among the dozen - but one that is still significant for with your influence, he begins to act as a fish looking beyond the waters. He thinks and makes conclusions that, a bit regrettably for you are still human, you cannot make alone.

And as such, he had once asked - does man truly die, or does the soul linger, asleep with Mother Earth?

You were tapping something upon the screen at that time when you looked back at the question, raising an eyebrow before turning to the keyboard, tapping a few more letters here and there slowly. You pondered on the thought. It was a silly idea to even think about - this is what your very role revolves around, after all. "It is not a question of 'if' you are asking, Narumi. But, for the sake of understanding, what do you think?"

The student fumbled a little, predictably. "Well, I think, maybe, people do die. Their lives end - their existences are gone for good - but, probably..."

He trailed off, glancing at the teddy bear screen saver on one of the numerous screens up high on the walls. A moment or two passed in that silence, and you were ready to - irritatably - urge him to continue, but he already did it, "I suppose their souls are still here. Like, their bodies are gone and everyone only has memories of them to live with, but because of that, their essences are still tied to the earth. Their memories make up their existences, so..."

You furiously typed in some more coding, finishing off and executing the program you were dilly-dallying on during your assistant's ridiculous musings. You didn't look back as you commented a little flatly, "...Are you truly my assistant? Such an answer should not take so long - and, it is a remarkably stupid question you had asked as well, which should have made answering even shorter."

Most would take offense - Narumi, who was far too used to this behavior by now, simply shrugged and awaited your actual comment. You sighed quietly. "Though I must admit, that is a thought that not many can reach within an impulse - what you say is true. Humans exist simply through making themselves known and remembered. It is the fundamental basics of living."

"So... as long as someone is remembered..." he muttered audibly. You nodded absently.

"Then, the dead is not really dead. Just unable to speak - thus, the reason where we come in. To be their voices in the living world, so that they can reveal the truth they could not say before."

You took a sip of your drink, frowning when only a drop of it came from the can. With another, heavier sigh, you set it aside and order your silly assistant to bring another one for you. With that, your conversation was now over.

Hehe, yeah, really boring, wasn't it? ^^'

Constructive criticism and reviews would be nice.
