Chapter 20: The finally

After a day of sailing Astrid is finally back to the island. She step on the land and sighed. She regret a little leaving Berk. She grab her things and walk towards the village. She had tears in her eyes as she go. She was hoping Hiccup couldn't snapped at her again.

Once at the village, she looked around for Hiccup and his daughter. She walked into a familiar building, the forge. She hesitate. Her hand was close to touch the handle of the door. She walked in and see nobody inside. She sighed in relief. Memories came back about that when Hiccup snapped. She never knew Hiccup would snap like that.

She decided to walk around the building for a little. She saw a closed-door in the back. She open the door and step inside. Inside of the room, it have drawings, books, and a little amount of tools. She knew Hiccup love to draw, she seen the drawings back in forge back in Berk. On the desk, was a book in the center next to it was a pencil. Normally, Astrid doesn't look at people's personal belongings. curiosity took over her. She open the book to a random page and read.

Today, Val and I are at the forge today. Ever since Astrid came here I became more overprotective than ever. Zoey keep saying Val should play with her brother, but I refuse. I clearly don't want that witch Astrid in this village. I knew I might be bit out of character, but I couldn't hold this urge against Astrid anymore. I not solving it by violence. I don't know what to do.

Astrid gasped as she reads the book. This is Hiccup's journal. She quickly close the journal and walk out of the room. She try to head outside, but the door is slowly opening.

With Hiccup and Val

Hiccup woke up when the sunlight hit his eyes. She sat up, get dressed, and walk out of his room. He walk towards Val's room. He slowly open the door and see his precious daughter sleeping. He closed the door and walk downstairs. When he walk to the kitchen he heard Val yawn. He turn around and see Val still in her nightgown. Hiccup scope her up and spin her around. Val giggled her cute little heart out. "Good morning Val!" Hiccup greeted. "Morning daddy!" Val greeted back. Hiccup smile and Val smile back. Hiccup put her on one of the chairs of the dining table. Hiccup make some breakfast. They both eat with giggles and laughter.

After eating, Hiccup clean the dishes, dry them, and put them away. "Val get ready for today!" Hiccup said. "Will I get to play today, daddy?" Val asked. Ever since Astrid was here. Hiccup was overprotective about Val's safety. The question Val asked broke Hiccup heart. "Yes, you can play." "YAY!" With that she ran upstairs to get dressed.

Once Val came back downstairs they went outside. When they walk they were greeted by many of the villagers. Everybody knew Hiccup and his daughter. she's a little sweet girl from the heavens.

Once they reached to the forge, Hiccup let Val to play with her friends. He opened the door slowly. He was shook to see who's inside:

Astrid

"What are you doing in here?" Hiccup asked with venom in his voice. "I-I-I was trying t-to finding a place to stay." Astrid shuttered with fear and tears in her eyes. Hiccup stared at her with hatred. "Why? Aren't you happy back in Berk?"

"No!"

Hiccup was shocked.

"Why?"

"The guilt I been having ever since your gone. When I see your daughter, I know your happy but the memories still haunt you. If your still angry with me, thqen take it out on me." Astrid rise her arms out and close her eyes, waiting to be punished. Hiccup's eyes are wide, not knowing what to do. He knows violence makes things worse. He sighed.

"I'm not going to hit you."

"W-what?!" Astrid said in shock.

"Don't beat yourself up to apologize." With that Hiccup wrap his arms around Astrid. " I'm sorry for everything I caused. And I accept your apology."

Astrid hugged back.

Both heard the door open and close. They separate and look who's by the door; it was little Val.

"Daddy, who's that?"

"This is Astrid, Val."

Hiccup doesn't know what to say. "She's cute." Astrid said. Hiccup looked at her and smiled. He looked back at Val. "Val, is there something you need?"

"No. Is she my aunt?"

Both adults are shocked, Astrid mostly.

"I guess so. Why won't you play outside while I talk to her."

"OK." With that Val went outside.

"Astrid, I'll explain everything and I guess your her new aunt."

Hiccup explained Astrid everything and his relations to the town. It took Astrid awhile to take in the information. She accepted to be Val aunt and swore to protect her.

few months later

Everything is going along great. Astrid have her new home and a life. Booth Hicup and Astrid put their past aside and had a new friendship. Hiccup introduce her to everybody he know in town. Astrid play with Val and thought her a few things about protecting herself (which Hiccup sort of approve of). Things are finally in peace. While in Berk, people are still suffering to survive against dragons. Astrid, Hiccup, and Zoey are hoping Val to grow up strong.

Fin

Finally finished. Sorry about the long wait everybody. I'll probably do a sequel. I had to do much of things and I have sucking laptop. What's wrong with my brother and I with laptops? My messed up my first one while my brother mess up his. He dropped my second one and new it's messed up. So I'm using my dad's old laptop. Hey it's better than nothing.
