This chapter is going to be from the perspective of an outside observer watching Damon and Elena in 5x02.

Today, I notice something on my way to class. To the unobservant spectator, it is nothing more than a couple of college kids enjoying a little bit of romance, but I sense something so much more powerful.

Mr. Tall Dark and Handsome pulls a ring out of his pocket and hands it to the woman where their hands linger on the token for just a second. By the slightly pensive look on her face, I can tell that the ring has meaning behind it, but he just shrugs it off as no big deal.

I continue walking towards the building and closer to the couple.

"I am secure enough in our relationship that you having psychic dreams about your ex-boyfriend does not bother me," the man says before the woman leans in to kiss him on the lips. He rests a hand on her back as they take a brief moment to just look at each other, like they have a secret that only they share.

"But it still sucks," he admits causing her to smile and kiss him again.

The honesty that so easily flows between them in this moment is astounding despite the subject matter of psychic dreams. Every move is deliberate and perfect and reflective of the love that is so easily running between the both of them.

"I love you," she says while they continue to hold each other close. "We're going to save Stefan. And…I'm still going to love you, ok?" she asks, with her lips parted slightly in a gentle smile. They draw near to each other and allow their lips to fit perfectly together as they reciprocate their mutual affection. They take their time, methodically moving together, cherishing each second like it's their last. Every breath that they take, I notice smiles on their faces as they enjoy their intimate moment despite the constant movement of people around them, but little did they know that they had a shadow, appreciating just how beautiful their love is.

I don't want to pretend that I know them or their life story, but the way they interact with each other just radiates the passion that consumes them and it is obvious if you just take a moment to notice it.

With the ring of a cell phone, the moment ends. Each reluctantly pulls away from each other as the man pulls a phone out of his pocket. In that brief second where their focus isn't directly on each other, the woman glances past her boyfriend and it isn't until she looks away that I realize that we had made eye contact. In that instant, I could feel what it was like to be her; to have somebody love you twice as much as you love them.

She rests a hand on his chest while locking his gaze with hers while he talks on the phone. Even when he has other matters to take care of, his attention is still with her because they just captivate each other.

"They've found something," he says, shoving the phone back into his pocket.

"Alright, I guess that's our cue," she smirks, kissing him one last time before prancing around to the passenger side.

I honestly feel envious of the girl, but also appreciative of just how mesmerizing their interaction was. He would without a doubt take a bullet for that girl, and I know that one day someone will feel the same way about me; I just have to be patient.

"Hi," a man with sandy blonde hair says, breaking me out of my trance.

"Hi?" I say, wondering why on earth he is wasting his breath on me.

"I don't really have any reason for coming over here, except that I think you are absolutely stunning."

I blush and open my mouth to speak, but no words come out. "Thank you," I finally manage.

"Could I maybe walk you to class?" he asks.

I glance past the boy at the light blue car disappearing down the road before answering. "Absolutely."

I know that was a kind of short and different from some of the other chapters, but I still hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for reading!
