There was a little girl, just like her, what what her name? She was so kind, so gentle, so brave.

Ness shook the thought from her head as she and Al kept walking, they had lost the rest of the group, but Al was confident he could get them out of the house. Do I really care, Ness thought as she trudged along behind him. She did care about getting out, right? She would still get out and tell everyone of her new friend, right? She would let Becca live on, right? She had to get out, right?

"Ness, I think I know where they are." Al's sorrow filled voice was enough to pull her out of her own sorrow to see a gruesome sight: America and England were huddled together on the floor, soaked in blood. England was unconscious, and had more blood on him than America.

"America!" screeched as she ran over and grabbed his arm. He looked up and smiled that playful smile he always had on. She shook his arm in frustration and called louder, "AMERICA! SNAP OUT OF IT!"

"Sorry, Ness, I have to protect Iggy. Stupid." He laughed as he brushed a piece of England's hair from his face. Ness saw that most of the blood on America was actually from England's wounds.

England's head lolled to the side, causing more blood to drip from where his right ear was supposed to be. He had three big slashes across his chest and two down his legs. Blood poured out from it like a waterfall. He was definitely not okay.

"Stupid, git." England mumbled under his breath as he grabbed America's hand from off his knee. "Don't waste your energy on me." He rasped. He raised a shaky hand and brushed the stray hairs away from America's face. His hand fell limp, stone cold.

After America calmed down for a few minutes, he told them the whole story: they had found Ed, France and Winry, dead. Russia had lost it, swearing that he was going to kill the monster if it was the last thing he did. And, it was, he killed the monster at the cost of his own life. Then, somehow, another monster appeared, as if there were multiple copies of the same one, with slight differences. America said the one that attack him and England had two heads.

"Oh, God, I'm so sorry." Ness whispered, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder. He shrugged it off, and spat at the ground, "I don't need sympathy. I am the hero, Ness, I should've saved him." Rage boiled up so much inside of the country that he started to shake. "I will avenge my friend."

"No, you won't. Think this through, America, Russia did the same exact thing and you know very well what happened to him."

"Don't you dare talk about him as if you knew him!" America growled, pouncing on Al.

The two men wrestled until Al got the upper and and pinned the country to the floor, choking him.

"Al! Stop it!" Ness screamed, utterly frozen near the wall. She had started crying. She had remembered what she had been thinking of, this exact scene had happened before to the girl, her little sister.

"Hey, Elsa, you're a real freak show, ya know that?" The boy taunted the girl.

"Ignore them, kiddo." Ness said gently, pulling the girl away from the school yard.

"Come on now, don't run away." He taunted again. Elsa spun on her heel and decked the guy, knocking him off his balance and sending him to the ground.

He got up and wrapped his fingers around her throat, forcing her to her knees. "You. Will. Pay." He continued to force her down until she was lying on the cold December ground, lifeless.

"Elsa?" Ness asked nervously, unable to move her shaking muscles. Elsa's killer stumbled away from the scene, realizing what he had done.

"Elsa? Common Elsa, it's Christmas. Elsa?" Ness had lost control of her legs and fell to the ground. She crawled closer to her sister and rested Elsa's head in her lap. "Elsa, Elsa. Please. It's Christmas."

Ness couldn't take the memory anymore, she screamed. Stopping the fight. Al looked down at his hands and hurriedly freed the man's neck from his grasp. America took in a gulp of air gratefully.

"I can't go through that again. Please, not again." Ness fell to the ground, sobbing.

"Guys! I found the exit! We can go!" America called excitedly. Ness and Al came running, only one thing stood in their way: The monster.

"Al, go on without me! I'll distract it!" Ness ordered, shoving Al past the monster's reaching hands.

"Ness!" Al spun on his heel, trying to grab her, only to be stopped by her blood curdling scream.

"NESS!" He started forward. He saw the monster's fist come back to it's side, covered in blood.

"No, Al! Just... go! I'll be with her again... I'll be... happy."

"NO!"

They were all gone. Timelines blending together. No more could Al tell one from the other. It didn't really matter, they all ended with him alone. He was done trying. He couldn't stand the pain of being alone anymore.

"I'm done trying, Truth." Al lifted the knife up, pointing it at his heart.

"I don't believe that one bit." A voice giggled behind him. Al whipped his head around, eyes wide. That can't be right.

"Hi, Al. I missed you." Becca said, waving her hand nervously. Al stared at her, mouth open, trying to figure out what was going on.

"Did I start over?"

"No, Al, you're still in the same timeline. What number is this anyway?" She asked, flopping down in the grass outside of the mansion's gates.

"I lost count after thirty." Al sighed, sinking to his knees. "It's a lot."

"And I couldn't be prouder. Even though all your friends die, you tried to save them each time." She smiled her bright and cherry smile, "Why don't you try one last time, for me?"

Al smiled sadly at the girl, "What if it doesn't work?"

"Then you can quit, but I want you to try one last time. I'll try my hardest to help you, just let us in on what's going on." She smiled, her body was starting to fade, just an illusion.

Al grabbed his book and flipped to the start.

He threw himself back.

In.

Time.
